We are all aware that our Down line consists of members from different walks of life, from different Countries with different Language and cultural back ground.

In general, it is very difficult to get their replies for our messages. This is one side.

Even, members from the same country do not reply many times. They have their own reasons for not doing it. But, we can presume that they do not look at SFI business as any other business with seriousness. If they are so serious they would have been logging in to their account on a daily basis.

This is another side.

There are another set of people who are genuinely interested and looking for a second income, to have a secured future, will be active from day one and will be responding irrespective of their language. We have to work more closely with such people.

Then, how to encourage these three categories of people?

A1. For people from different countries, language being the barrier, it would be advisable to translate all our communication in to their language. We have to use reputed web sites, preferably from their Country that offer free on line Translation. We can mention the source of translation is from their own country & that they can use it for their communication back.

2. This can encourage them to read, understand and reply.

3. We may have difficulties doing it regularly as it is a time consuming process. But, first few communication thus sent can clearly help us whether these affiliates are really interested or not.

B1. For affiliates from our own Country, since they are inactive and not so serious, we can do nothing.

2. At best, we can keep sending our regular mails or post messages in the Stream or can send appropriate E-Cards.

3. Since our mails will also be sent to their personal mail ids, if they are keen they will react one.

4. We can keep repeating it at regular intervals and remain with hope and never-say-die attitude.

C1. As for as the third category of people who are really keen to grow and succeed,

2. We have to stay in touch with them by all means, monitor their progress and work with them more closely.

3. We should always ask them, “How we can assist them so that they can grow and advance”; “how we can help them so that they can get started”.

4. We have to inspire them by sharing our achievements;

5. We can motivate them by offering them T-Credits, Gift Certificates, Re-assigning some of our active affiliates, make them Designated Diamonds, Congratulate them in the Forum for their performance and achievements, sending them appropriate E-Cards depending upon the situation and so on.

6. With such people, we should quickly establish very good rapport and they should feel that we are trustworthy people whom they can rely upon for their business growth;

7. Our actions should make them realize that we are not selfish and that we are truly concerned with their performance and achievements.

8. We should continuously appreciate them for their efforts.

9. We should not bombard them with frequent mails; at the same time, we should respond to their questions and queries with lightning speed.

10. Fast, accurate, simple and timely response will go a long way in building business relationships.

If these are kept in mind and followed in both letter and spirit, certainly our affiliates will respond to our messages.

I am following these & I am able to get replies from my beloved team members in time & we are all growing slowly but steadily.

I have no control over that, how ever I will do my best for them to respond me back by asking question.

For the most part I get respond back, especially if I am communicating them with instant
Message here or on E- Card.

It is always up to me how I approach them to have a good communication with team members.
Once they knew me, they are always respond me back.

It is always helpful when one have a listening ability than talking all the time, I always
Listen what they have to say, either personal conversation or business.

Giving advice as well as receiving advice from them as well.
When I recognized their effort, for what they do, I put a little note even to say thank you
Sometimes that all they need to make their day and it meant a lot to most.

Most of the time we make it hard on ourselves by over looking only the business side and
Forgetting their situations, if I don’t see them working on the business for a while I dropped

To get your affiliates to respond to your messages, first off keep your messages short and to the point.

You want your affiliates to read your messages and not ignore them or worse still block them altogether. So keep them short, use everyday language (words) wherever possible and make your point as soon as possible. Include images if possible to draw their attention to your messages. Having images can reinforce your message or explain your message better than words.

Having overcome hurdle number one and you have your affiliates reading your messages, you want your affiliates "to respond to you." In other words you want them to communicate with you regarding your messages.

This is really what the question is all about.

To achieve this I recommend the following:

1. Do remember to ask them to respond to your message. Just because you sent a message does not mean they will automatically send you a message in return. As per the Biblical saying ‘Ask and you will receive.’

2. Chat with them whenever possible. Take every opportunity to talk with them such as: You can check the Genealogy for birthdays daily and send then e- birthday cards; when you see that they are online, say hello; when you see a posting in the Forum from one of your team members, connect and post a reply/comment; you see that they have won a prize of some sort, send them a congratulatory message; when they reach milestone, make a big fuzz of their achievement.......... In other words, be an awesome sponsor and constantly be with them, supporting them, cheering them on. You do these and they cannot ignore your messages for long. They will respond.

3. Your Streams and Newsletters are much much more than means of getting yourself VPs. I suggest that you take the approach that getting the VPs is a by-product of good content streams and newsletters. The focus should always be the affiliates and their needs. I always include in my newsletter a request for some feedbacks. How did they find the newsletter and if they can suggest anyway of improving it. I do get comments not only the newsletter but also at the streams.

4. You can also try some sort of ‘respond for reward.’ If you are running a team survey, you could say th the 1st 10 people to respond will receive 2 TCredit each. aske sure you keep to your word.

5. Recently I sent out a list of resources that my sponsor was making available for the team and asked them to rate the products in their order of preference. That was a huge success and I am still collating the responses for my sponsor. I think this great response was because they can see the benefits of what is being offered.

So, apart from sending short, clear and easy to understand messages, as you can see from the above if you also focus on the wants and needs of your team, they will definitely respond to your messages

I send messages to my affiliates through SFI team mail using Genealogy filter, stream post, e-cards and SFI Chat. Also i send personal emails from my personal email ID to their email ID from time to time.

Affiliates who are active responds to some of my messages sometimes, or likes my stream post.

But inactive affiliates mostly never responds to my messages even messages that were sent into their personal email id from my personal email id. Once in a while inactive affiliates responds to me in my personal email id and I take it as a positive sign and ask them to make it a habit to login daily to their SFI account. Very few logs in for couple of days and then again becomes inactive.

I though make it a point to write in my emails and messages that if they want any assistance they should let me know the problem that they are facing and they can connect with me even through phone if they like.

I still hope that some of the inactive affiliates will become active in future by seeing my constant reminders and messages sent to them with all new happening and good things and improvements that are taking place in SFI and TripleClicks.

To get the best possible outcome of response from my affiliates, I find the following strategies very helpful.

I make it a point to take a personal interest in my team’s activities by closely monitoring their progress daily as they appear on my Movers List and in my Genealogy.

If any of my top 20 PSAs and CSAs are missing from the list for a few days to a week, I send a personal note using the Hello E-Card, or a short message to their regular E-mail address to make sure they get my message that I am missing them and invite them to contact me if they are experiencing any particular problem so that we can work on it and find a solution. This gets a response very quickly thru SFIM chat, and so it helps relieve anxiety that nothing is wrong and work outside SFI just got in the way.

By checking their VP Ledgers to see where they need help most. I will then send a screen shot of their To-Do list on their VP Ledger, pointing out where they have problem and explaining how each item needs to be actioned so that they will not miss earning their VP for the day. This gets a response too, sometimes not in word but by action as shown by an improved and increased VP.

In my Weekly messages to my team, in addition to the usual imparting and sharing information of general interest,etc., I use this opportunity to express my appreciation for their fantastic efforts during the week, and inviting especially the new members to contact me if they need more help and guidance in moving forward. This will hardly get a response, but I noticed a few who have been absent for a long time will come back and log in, and that's a better response, as far as I am concerned.

Stream Post gets the most response from most active members as they add comment and give feedback on anything I share with them- a win or two by members at the DGD, a win at the PB auction, a win at anything, someone requalifying, someone's answer in Ask SC being voted in the Top 10, or just sharing a tip or two and quotes, for general encouragement to provide excitement. The response is positive and shared by all.

But the best strategy for me is my daily chat with my team. The conversation and exchange of opinion and idea is close, informal, friendly, and very informative in a way that getting to know one's team is made easier and practical because I can express how much I care for their success and welfare by giving unconditional support as long as they are actively and seriously building their own business.

At SFIM chat, you can ask direct question and get direct answer, honestly and from the heart. For me, this is relationship building at its best and truest sense. The connection is instant.

When sending any messages to your team, remember they may not respond in kind, but you may notice an improvement in their activities and an increase in VPs and a general sense of good teamwork working.

And remember, too, that action speaks louder than words!

Motivating the masses to respond to digital communications is simply not possible.

It's not possible because people are designed to respond to what interest them instead of respond on demand. I personally read dozens of post in the SFI Forums every day and respond to 3-5 post because I simply can't add anything that hasn't already been said to the conversation.

Still there are ways to get your readers interested in responding back.

1. Challenge them: Give them task with a reward at the end of the tunnel that they have to respond back to you to claim.

2. Mention them: When a team member does something great add them to your team mail for the week, they do something good add them to your stream or use the recognition tab in the forum.

3. Question them: Look at our almost hidden survey near the bottom left of the page where thousands of affiliates respond to the questions. Look at the popularity of Knock out Trivia, and Gold Streak. Watch how many respond when questions are asked in the forum. People love to be asked their opinion and get affirmation of their knowledge.

4. Gift them: Give them a free report or ebook and track the link to see how many in your list take up your offer. You will be surprised that more people will respond with action than words.

5. Blog or offer an off site newsletter: I get more response from my private responder than I do the Team Mail and farm more action to my blog post linked from team mail. The fact is people are paying attention even if they don't say anything back to you.

These 5 tips will get you measurable results so your mind can be at ease, but don't expect more than 4% of your downline to take action, this is the same for any contact list but keep in mind that of the 4% who are paying attention and taking action eventually 5-15% of them will become active and join your efforts statistically.

If you are actively building your SFI business, you will be attempting to keep in contact with your teammates. However, there is a situation that is not to pleasant and that is most of your teammates will not respond to your sent messages.

I know a lot of new affiliates wonder if they are doing something wrong because no one is responding to their stream post or weekly team mails. This is very understandable especially to those who have never worked a marketing plan like SFI where team work is essential (extremely important).

There are a few things you do need to consider when sending messages to your team.

One of them would be to make sure that you are not “demanding” that your affiliates do something. You are not a military leader nor their boss always keep in mind that your teammates are business partners – business partners work together – they don’t rule each other.

Another thing to consider would be if you are sending the same information over and over again. This makes your messages predictable and boring. You need fresh good content in each and every message you send whether you are using stream or weekly mails.

The things I do to get the most responses from my team are:

1. Keep my messages short – but very informative.

2. I always try be very positive and motivating with the content I am using.

3. I do not use copied information from SFI – they already are receiving that – I cover the same information but put it in my everyday words and experiences.

4. I do my best to keep my content centered on their accomplishments instead of mine. Lift them up – “If you blow your personal horn in public you just make a big noise – If you blow their horn in public you make devoted partners.” (my quote)

5. I try to end my messages (team mails) asking for suggestions and or comments to help build good team work between all the members.

6. Finally, I always encourage my teammates to contact me for ANY reason or for ANY kind of help and assistance that they may need.

By slowly learning to incorporate the above six methods in sending messages to my teammates the response rate has increased dramatically over the last couple of years.

We need to be a good reader. That's the Best tips in any Lesson, as almost most knowledge were written down. My advice is, practice ourselves to read more messages from SFI or other source.
This will enhance some bright Ideas when we understand what excites our reads..

Start our messages as friendly as can be. This will excites our readers. Acknowledging our motives then move on slowly to our storyline.

And of course, every messages we sent we expect good reply in return. This is called Communication. But most of the time, results were not to our expectation. It's ok actually, just keep trying and upgrades our writing techniques.

Just a Tip;
It is better to ask few simple positive question every time, this will leave some connections in our conversation as a topic of discussions, upon their reply. An Invitation into a Discussion.

More Ideas..
To enhance friendships or relationships, a feeling of internal connection, sometime a little humour can really acts like a flavour in our food. And sometime, moving a little forward into time understanding which action they might take and elaborate it in more detail can create a feeling of exceptance.

Most of it is actually applying our Talking skills.
If we are good when talking among our friends.. then applying it into our writings is Brilliance.

I think you have to keep in mind that some of the correspondence received from upline Sponsors or Co-Sponsors doesn't lend itself to responses.

To illicit a response from your down-line Affiliates you need to ask a question - and make the correspondence brief so that the leading question is what they see.

A great deal of correspondence is being sent out to Affiliates every day - wonderful reminders from SFI to get things done and all of these reminders we know are valuable and can help us expand our business using SFI and TC.
But we need to keep in mind that if an Affiliate is already at the point of opting out - these regular bits of information can actually be deleted without even being review or read through. The more correspondence received, the more likely this is to happen.


If you keep in mind that the Affiliate joined with the idea of creating a potential income, then you need to work with that same idea to attract that uncommitted Affiliate back to the daily reviews and responses on the To Do List.

For that reason I believe you have to keep the following in mind when sending out messages, especially to Affiliates who appear to be losing interest:

1. Make the TITLE to each message RELEVANT and IMPACTFUL
A message entitled: "More about SFI" is unlikely to elicit a response from an Affiliate who is already losing interest.
Whereas, a message entitled: "Yay! I just made $100 on SFI" is much more likely to once again get the Affiliate at least curious about reading that message

2. Make the message BRIEF
Messages that are long-winded and difficult to read tend to lose the attention of the reader.
If you need to bring to their attention several points use point form to make it easier to read
So the content of the message could be:
"I just won 200 TCredits by bidding on the Pricebenders Auction and it only cost me 1TCredit (the equivalent of $0.29).
Now I can use those TCredits to play EZ games and bid on more Pricebender auctions.

Contact me and we'll set up an online meeting so I can tell you how you can do the same and expand your business and start earning money."

3. Always include CONTACT DETAILS
While those of us who have spent time learning about the SFI site can probably fairly easily find our Sponsor and Co-Sponsor contact details, we tend to forget that at first it seemed like a really confusing and difficult task. So make it easy for your down-line Affiliates.


Another way to get more active in communicating with your Affiliates is to offer them the opportunity to meet with you on a weekly basis.
If you set up a weekly online meeting (using Skype or a similar chat room - I use GoToMeeting which is a facility that I invest in because I find it the most useful in helping new Affiliates as it give me the opportunity to view their screens and provide them with real-time assistance as they are doing their daily To Do List or something else that they're finding a little confusing.


Then always remember to ask yourself the question:
"Do I respond to every message I am sent?"
The likely answer is "No"
Which means that if you're not doing it, others are unlikely to do it either.


Communicating with Down-Line Affiliates is selling and marketing - so keep in mind that:

80% of sales occur after at least FIVE follow-ups
BUT
92% of sales people give up before FIVE "No's"
SO
8% of sales people are making 80% of the sales

Don't get disheartened and don't give up!

You can't get them to respond if they do not want to.

If they are not active they are not going to respond and if they are active it is already a response. A response is not always an answer to your messages or mails - it can simply be the fact that they are active.

What you can do is to be the best sponsor you can possibly be and give them every opportunity and way to respond to you and to become active or if they are active to ask for your help should they need it.

Keep on encouraging even if you do not get the desired response - maybe after a while they will start responding.

I think we all have to deal with that feeling that you are communicating with yourself or wondering if you are wasting your time trying to reach them. Maybe you wonder if they are even receiving your newsletters or reading them. Don't let that get to you - if you do your best it is good enough - it is them that is failing themselves - you are not failing as a leader.
