Communication is always about understanding others and being understood, and your country's forum--and your region's forum--are the places where you're most likely t be understood. These are places where you can find pertinent, relevant information with regard to SFI affiliates where you live... After all, tax law where you live, for example, is likely to be much different than tax law where I do.
Additionally, you may find that people in your area of the world have a different cultural approach to network marketing from those in other regions. Asking people near you how they do things may provide better insight than a well-meaning sponsor in another part of the world.

How do you turn affiliates' EMPLOYEE mentality...to a BUSINESS OWNER mentality?

In order to change a person's mindset, whether or he or she is an affiliate, a customer, or prospect, you must first develop enough of a rapport with that person, which means, to a degree coming to like and understand that person enough to be able to communicate on that person's level, and doing so, open him or her up to the ideas you wish to share. Generally, this works best on a one-on-one basis as opposed to a multi-person mail-out.
I tend to find Skype or a Yahoo chat, complete with video and voice, is most effective because I can see my affiliate's body-language, hear his or her tone of voice, and that lets me get my ideas across most easily. If I can't manage that, it's text chat, or failing that, an individual e-mail. Regardless, though, the most important thing is to *appreciate* the person as a person.
As for developing a "Business Ownership" mentality, the best way to do that is to develop methods that give the person a sense of control--for this, my best suggestion would be to encourage them to list more merchandise on TripleClicks, so they feel like proprietors of their own stores. Your method may vary, but that feeling of control over of one's own destiny is priceless.

How best to promote SFI to prospects who have no experience with online business?

There is a question that has to be asked before promoting anything to anyone:
"Why is this person a prospect?"
You have to understand a person's needs and desires to promote membership in SFI to them, and those needs and desires will determine *how* to do this best. A person looking for something to do in his or her retirement is going to have different needs and desires from a stay-at-home mom, who will, in turn, have different needs and desires from a person desperate for another source of income. This is why the first step to promotion has to be selecting one particular interest group or another--if every prospect is coming from the same demographic, you can target your answers and your promotions to fit what they're looking for.

How do you get affiliates to understand that SFI is a serious business with serious earnings potential...and not just a hobby?

The first rule of communication is, "go first." Understand that SFI is a serious business with serious earning potential, and start promoting your TripleClicks Gateway Links. Show them your commissions, and explain exactly how you got them. Walk them through the process. Those who are serious about making the same money you are making will become active.
Many people here make the mistake of thinking that you make your money here off the purchases of your affiliates. If that's the case, we'd just be parasites encouraging others to become parasites. The real truth is that you can make far more money by promoting than by pushing your PSAs and CSAs to spend their cash before they make any... and by making your money off of promotion outside your affiliates, you--and they--will be more successful with your efforts and less reliant on standing orders to earn VP and bonuses.

What's the best way to help my affiliates in other countries advance in SFI?

The obvious (and probably least helpful) answer is to teach your affiliates everything you know and encourage them to follow exactly the same procedures to succeed--as such, they duplicate your success, and you advance as they do. Beyond that, helping your affiliates advance, regardless of country, is going to be something to consider on a case-by-case basis. While certain things may be applicable in all cases, like offering them some TCredits or gift certificates in return for achieving certain milestones, it may not be the *best* way. For some, it's going to be about helping them translate their promotions and ads into English because those writing in foreign languages sometimes mistranslate words or otherwise generate grammar that seems clearly flawed. For others, it might be about helping them do research on different promotional processes. The best thing to do is to ask them questions about where they currently are and what they view as their obstacles. Then you can help each of them more effectively.

Well, if you can communicate telepathically with them, you can bypass all cultural and language impediments, but obviously, that's not very realistic in most cases. I personally recommend communicating face-to-face, whether in person or over an online chat program like skype. That way, you can combine verbal communication with good body language, and you're able to read their expressions to see if they are understanding what you're telling them as well as how they feel about your answers. There's so much more you can communicate with them that way.

What is the most effective way to communicate with your team?

Do you mean "Most Effective" in terms of being sure to make contact when you want to, or "Most Effective" in terms of passing on information clearly? In the first case, you can usually count on being able to send an e-mail to anyone who has whitelisted you, and you can contact them by phone if they've listed that information, but Team Mail is the most reliable way to contact active affiliates. If you're trying to communicate with your WHOLE team, there's always the Genealogy mailing.
However, if you can get your team on Skype, Yahoo, or some other software that handles web-conferencing, and pass on information to all of them, you can have a great question-and-answer session where you can talk directly to them, direct them to websites where they can promote, and even, with the aid of the right plug-ins, RECORD these meetings so that you can host them on YouTube or otherwise provide them as long-standing information. It may be hard to do, but it's ideal for passing along information effectively.

Well, one way or another, you're going to wind up using a direct link to your store:
http://www.tripleclicks.com/[sfiid]/TConnectMbr.php?sfiid=[sfiid]
where [sfiid] is, obviously, your TripleClicks ID#.
How you use that link is entirely up to you. Point as many ads to it as you like. Use safelists. Use FFA pages. Use classified sites. Point your friends there. Use your blog to mention it. Ubiquity is the key--diversify your methods, drive as much traffic there as you can. Still, the big trick remains making people buy. That's the real challenge.

What are some ideas for marketing SFI at a job fair or free-standing kiosk in a business area?

Well, first and foremost, make sure that your table or kiosk is within the allowable terms of the job fair. Otherwise, you may find yourself thrown out with a loss of table fees. If they're okay with you promoting the SFI affilate program as a career, then the next place to go is to SFI's own marketing tools and suggestions--the basic literature is already done for you. Having a sign-up sheet for more information will give you an opportunity to contact interested parties at the event so that you can do your own group presentation afterward, and that can result in better-informed PSAs.
Regardless, most important is understanding *why* the people who approach might want what you have to offer. Eliciting individual values will enable you to get more motivated sign-ups.
