Second, the first tasks of a new recruit should be a full exposure to the basic training: Getting Started, watching the introductory video, and reading the “SFI Basics”. We have been duly warned when we joined SFI. Further, this warning pertains to any of our online activity, from sending emails to posting In Social Media sites.

Online business communities and forums, usually, have spamming deterrent policies that are enforced very strictly.

Actually, spamming will produce adverse results: the inverse outcome from what we are seeking to achieve. Instead of goodwill and understanding with others, it turns off people and creates adversity. Even when the spamming stops, the negative first impression will linger a very long time.

An SFI affiliate should never engage in such unwanted behavior.

The answer to your question is in five proactive steps: full knowledge of the spamming prohibitions and rules of business solicitation in the particular forum; business relationship building; working to establish oneself as an authority in the field of one’s business; providing value to forum members, and never appearing as trying to make a sale or solicitation, but rather as providing solutions to the problems identified through business interactions.

Our intent to avoid spamming is directly linked to our goal for being a successful SFI Affiliate. It is a sales and prospecting strategy that will, at the end, bring people to ask for our products and opportunities, without us making any open offers.

It starts with knowledge of the rules. We cannot effectively interact with forum members if we do not know the rules. There are both written and unwritten rules. Only by careful observations can we identify the unwritten rules. We will spot them by observing the behavior of the most successful forum members. Those are the ones that have the largest numbers of followers and those to whom others look up.

These are the forum members with whom we want to start building those business relationships. At first, we should avoid coming up as only interested in making a sale. Instead, we should take time to know people at the individual level. When we join an online business forum, we should read members’ posts, make positive comments, and ask questions. Many of these forums value posts that create activity such as comments. Somebody who has made a post will appreciate that we are commenting positively on their content.

This is the first step towards creating goodwill that can lead to friendship. If we ask to befriend somebody who already has positively noticed us, he will very likely accept. Through that friendship we will have access to other influential members of that forum.

Our comments should be always positive, while we are being absolutely honest and truthful to ourselves. Hence, we should select carefully those posts. The point is not to make comments for their own sake. The point is to provide insightful input that will be appreciated and valued by post owners as well as readers. We want to provide insights that will enhance the post’s value. This is how reputations of integrity and authority are built.

In this approach we are not trying to make any sales or enroll people. Instead, we are working to be helpful others. That help is from which people’s goodwill towards us emerges. We will appear as knowledgeable as disinterested.

When we identify a problem, as much as we can, we may want to offer real solutions without expecting any returns. We can offer gifts in the form of free publications such as PLRs that address the issues at hand. Then we can follow such gifts with our own SFI Gift cards, after we have induced a genuine interest for them.

Where visual aids are allowed, we should provide support to our comments with appropriate SFI marketing aids.

Throughout the whole process, we have not attempted to sell anything. However, we will soon notice that have created opportunities to direct forum members to our splash and squeeze pages with which we can start to collect their personal contact information such as email address and phone numbers. That would be the time to start our sales and sponsoring activities. At that juncture, it will be with people with whom we have had several interactions. They know us. They have a strong goodwill towards us because we have helped them solve problems. They are open to listening to us.

It may take time to see results. But building a business is not an overnight endeavor. It requires solid foundations, persistence and relentlessness.

The above entire approach is often referred to as “pull marketing”. We are pulling people to us by creating prior goodwill and friendship.

You are coming back to the old question of inactive affiliates.

There is no single SFI Team Leader who is not faced with this very same question: Sleeping Affiliates who do not seem to have any interest in all the great opportunities SFI has to offer.

It is a wonder, isn't it?

It is being debated in the Forum as well as through multiple questions at Ask SC. You have been an Affiliate for over 30 months. You have had your share of readings on the issue.

It is time to strip it to the bone.

Thus, my answer does not aim to be the most popular and gain the most votes.

Rather, my answer aims at waking up people.

I. You cannot convince anybody.

For the conviction to last, it has to come from within.
We all have noticed few affiliates who join SFI and run with it to make great team leaders and score outstanding success. They were looking for a business like SFI and found it.

We have not done anything to "convince" them. They convinced themselves that this was good for them.

We also have seen others who join and struggle with it, not sure what to do with it, but willing to learn.

But the vast majority of sign-ups do not even bother scoring one single VP to express a minimal interest. We are not even sure whether the emails they gave to register are real or fake.
We send mailers and eCards. But we have no way of knowing whether they reach destination let alone whether they are opened by the recipients. There is nothing you can to "convince" this category. As a result, our genealogies are full of red flags of Affiliates in the brink of being deleted from the SFI database.

You can keep sending them reminders and invitations to take their business seriously.

SFI will keep sending them weekly newsletters, until they are finally deleted.

It is true that, from time to time, we read the story of a previously sleeping affiliate who wakes up and start working. But such come back is very rare and far in between.

II. What we can do is help and support those who, at least, show a minimal interest

"Effective sponsoring" is working with those who are willing to work.
Actually, this is what SFI is recommending in the "Does and Don't" of "Being an Awesome Sponsor".

Although we should not cut all ties and give up on the sleeping affiliates, they should not be our primary focus.

Our efforts will get much more rewards and appreciation from those Affiliate who are responsive.

III. Next is: Keeping up the Marketing and Sponsoring Efforts to bring in new Sign-ups on a Regular Basis.

I am convinced that an intelligent marketing strategy can target the serious prospects who are truly seeking genuine online businesses that offer opportunities of success as SFI. It is a matter of market research and segmentation.

It requires a focus on quality of sign-ups versus quantity.

The major breakthrough in sponsoring, we all are looking for, will only come through this effort.

This is most the realistic approach in solving the question of inactive affiliates.

Hopefully, this will open the eyes of many a reader of Ask SC, even if they do not like it, or vote it down.

Your question will have many echos. We all want to use social medias to grow our SFI Affiliate Businesses. And we all are faced with the constraints these websites put against posting our links directly there.

Many affiliates have found a backdoor to Facebook, Pinterest, Tumblr and other similar sites.

Hence, a successul Ad Campaign will have to use those backdoors and implement a smart strategy to maximize the potential of these social websites

Personal websites, blogs, Press releases and other cyber publishing tools will help you get your links available to prospects to see.

The question is how to bring those prospects from Facebook and other sites to see your links

II. You need a strategy. (i) identify the products you want to sell, (ii) choose the most appropriate niche that fits those products and (iii) use your network of family, co-workers, friends and social media such as Facebook, Pinterest, and Tumblr.

Details are below;

1. Products, potential customers, and niches
For example, choose the products that are popular in Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, Montenegro, Bosnia, etc. This example is provided here because you know the market and you know what will likely sell there.

2. Advertize:
Drive traffic of potential buyers to your Tripleclick Store, your TConnect and other ECAs you want to promote.

After you have identified which products likely to sell in the markets you know best, write blogs about those products, with products descriptions, features and benefits, popularity and advantages.

Join Facebook groups where those products and benefits are being discussed. Post links to your blogs and other of your pages in social media sites.

3. Look for other ways to advertize, that are free, or low costs

Your objective is to drive potential buyers as much as possible to the pages where they can purchase the products you are selling.

Why don't you use both?

Your question strikes to the core of effectiveness of sponsoring methods. You can rephrase the question in terms of (i) Team work (SFI Co-op) versus (ii) Going alone (by yourself with your SFI bLog).

In those terms, team work would be better: you will have more resources and the results will impact you as well as the team members who are part of your SFI Co-op

Let's look at these points in details.

I. Team Work (SFI Co-op) versus Going Alone (Blog)

As mentioned above, with an SFI Co-op you are working with your team and helping them building their businesses while you also develop yours.

With a Blog on SFI, you are working alone.

First the result does depend on the method itself as such but on the quality and professionalism wit which the sponsoring method being used is understood, thoroughly planned and executed.

Second, an SFI Co-op and a Blog about SFI both aim at attracting potential prospects to SFI, but have different methodologies and features. They are not really comparable and, certainly, they are not mutually exclusive.

Hence, it might be better to look at them as complementary.

II. A Blog and complement an SFI Co-op as a Feeder
When you are successful in convincing your team members to join you in your SFI co-op and you decide to advertise for it, you can set a blog and use splash pages and landing pages that feed into your SFI Co-op.

That way you are increasing the potential of success for you and your team members.

This combination may be more rewarding than approaching approaching the SFi Co-op as opposite to a personal blog.

Try this approaches and you see better results.

Every SFI Affiliate who (i) logs in every day, (ii) does the basic daily work, and (iii) consistently takes on two or more daily actions in sponsoring and sales, is a potential superstar.

In other words, the making of an SFI superstar is the basic minimum and some big extra.

From my standpoint, the big extra is described in the "SFI Basics" and the Launchap lesson 6 "Central to your success". In that lesson, there is a homework assignment.

I seriously doubt that there are many of us who do such "homework assignment" every day. From now on, this is going to be part of my daily SFI goals: apply one or two of the lessons contained in the launchpad lessons and training.

I am grateful of your question. It is one of those that made me read again the "SFI Basics" and some of the launchpad lessons.

Yes, we read them when we joined. But, we hardly understood all the meaning or got all the benefits of their teachings. Very likely, we forgot about them and went on to complain about inactive affiliates or how hard it is find a "superstar" we can sponsor.

I have been with SFI for 16 months, tomorrow the 10th. I am a PTL.

However, I am hardly a "Superstar"; far from it.

This is what I think.

1. We should stop worrying about finding superstars.

2. We should focus on being superstars ourselves

3. After we have accomplished some progress towards that goal, then,

4. We can go back to our team members and teach them duplication, showing them our initial results and motivating them to follow us on our footsteps, on our quest of being SFI superstars.

Otherwise, how would you even recognize a superstar, if you are not one?

Recently, with the changes in qualification requirements, we have seen new sign-ups who jumped on the easy accumulation of "actions points for beginners". They made themselves Platinum Team Leaders (PTLs) combining a relatively sizeable Standing Order (SO) with scoring those action points from "Getting started", "Intermediate actions" and Launchpad lessons".

However, it did not make them "Superstar". Most of them reverted to "Affiliate" or Executive Affiliate, at best..

In other words, my definition of a "Superstar" is an affiliate who consistently progresses month after month: striving to learn, applying what they have learned, sponsoring and selling, correcting their mistakes as they go, but never losing ground to revert to lower ranks.

If you find in our downline such an affiliate, give them all the support you can, do the same as they are doing. Or, better yet, try to do more: work to be a leader to them. You might become a "Superstar" yourself.

Our sponsor is our mentor. We joined SFI thanks to his efforts. He spent time and money in a place where we found the opportunity and joined as an Affiliate. Regardless of his qualities and effectiveness as a sponsor, we owe him the opportunity to be part of SFI.

Our co-sponsor is a substitute mentor. The SFI Leadership model is smart enough to realize that one single mentor may not be all knowledgeable, always available and always responsive to our needs. Hence, very wisely the co-sponsorship was put in place to afford affiliates with business relationships that may benefif our leadership growth, guide us through the training process and shorten our learning curve.

For these reasons, it is highly beneficial to have competent, knowledgeable of responsive sponsors and co-sponsors.

An awesome sponsor will be in permanent contact with his PSAs, answer their questions, direct them to the activities that will help them grow their business in shorter periods of time. He will organize contests among his time members to motivate them in making progress and reaching milestones in their business growth. He will allocate Tcredits and gift certificates to help his PSAs in their financial investments. He will re-assign PSAs to senior team members to help them build their own teams. It is noteworthy that the re-assigned affiliates should have had at least 600 VP in the last 90 days, for the sponsor to be rewarded with 10 action VP per re-assignment. This is to stress quality.

An effective co-sponsor will periodically, at least once a week, communicate with his co-sponsored affiliates (CSAs). He will support them in their efforts, answer their questions, recognize them when they reach milestones or get rewards such as Daily Grand wins and the like. A good co-sponsor will help us and lift us, make us feel good being part of the SFI Family.

There is very valid reasons for having the SFI Co-Sponsorship institution. If our sponsor is not responsive, the co-sponsor may play a major role and be a substitute sponsor.

When an affiliate has both an awesome sponsor and an active co-sponsor, he/she will likely do well, benefiting from their advice, guidance, material support, and overall team work.

Whoever, it is also possible to find oneself with neither an awesome sponsor nor a knowledgeable, responsive co-sponsor.

That is actually my case. I, personally, have outranked both my sponsor and co-sponsor. My sponsor is actually inactive. My co-sponsor has changed once, at least. In both cases, I only get a weekly team mail from my co-sponsor. The questions and issues he/she is discussing often are not relevant to what confront me in my business building efforts. But, I do not hold that against anyone of them. I still rate them every month in a manner that does not penalize them.

In other words, it is highly beneficial to have good sponsor and co-sponsor. But, if an SFI affiliate find themselves without either, it should never be a deterrent to their success. True lasting success comes from within.

All our built-in SFI and Tripleclicks activities are thoroughly, efficiently and accurately tracked with the SFI various reports. It is actually unique and reassuring to know that every action we take to grow our business, interact with our team members, and our colleague affiliates, is tracked and the results provided to us in a very short time. It would be redundant to try to initiate another tracking system that would hardly be as accurate, as effective, and as timely. Let's look at what we have available at no costs to us and with no additional efforts from our part.

The "To-do-list" and the "VP Ledger" give us instant display of our daily, weekly and monthly activity. This combination is unparalleled as business tools to help us see where we stand, audit our work and the work of our team members.

Similarly, the transactions we conduct with Tripleclicks may be both for business reasons and for personal needs. For tax purpose, we should separate them and record them accordingly.

To track this important part of our business and personal life, we can combine spreadsheets and filing systems. We can find the necessary tools with the major online providers such as Google, MSN and others. In Google (Gmail) as well as in MSN or Yahoo free mail services, we have the opportunity to create labels in which we file our documents, both from SFI and those we create, such as the spreadsheets, our notes, our sales and sponsoring tracking tools, the tracking codes we are using and changing occasionally, and so forth..
