I know I should work with the workers, but how many follow-up messages should I send to inactive CSAs/PSAs before giving up on them?

Never give up on them!
Unless they remove themselves from the program, and even if they do, you should have a copy of their e-mail in your email program and contact them every once in a while as a friend. Keep them in the loop and offer them your own contact info and allow them to contact you. Then you will know when the get into programs that don't work and you'll be there for them when they do figure out that SFI is the only program that teaches them the truth about network marketing.

If you're learning anything at all from the launchpad lessons and doing all the get started actions, then you're on the right track.
Another way you can definitely know is if you're getting the desired results.
Are you doing all the red tabs on your todo list? Are you sending out ads at least once or twice per week? Are you making friends?
Then you're on the right track.
You are a sponsor who has lost touch with your downline. How do you reconnect?

As others are saying, this should never happen if you're sending out your newsletter at least once a week. But sometimes it can't be avoided that some of your downline will become inactive or never become active to begin with. Just make sure you send out encouraging emails and don't preach to the choir.

If you have the patience to stay on the tasks and keep your mind focused on what you have to do, plus the persistance to keep going no matter what hurdles you have to overcome, you will be successful.
If you've never seen the movie called "Door to Door", about Bill Porter, the top salesman for Watkins products, I highly recommend it. He had all the qualities that made him one of the most successful business men in history, and went door to door and never gave up, even though he had cerebral palsy! His dedication was so inspiring for me. If he can do what he did, I can definitely do it. And so can you.
Here's a link to the movie trailer.

You'll enjoy this one. :)

I have affiliates who are inactive. Is it a good idea or bad idea to reassign them to my active affiliates?

Inactive affiliates can become active once they realize that other programs aren't working out for them. Give them to your active affiliates and allow them to introduce themselves and it might be the just the ticket to get them going, once they see that they have support from other leaders.

Keisha, sadly, there are some sponsors who have gotten "too big for their britches."
Fortunately though, you can use the forum and support that SFI provides, so you never have to "go it alone."
You can rest assured that no matter what the reasons for your sponsors not responding, you can always count on us to help whenever we can, so you can find help here, from people who really do care. And if we don't have all the answers we can surely find someone else who can help you.
So don't worry, Keisha. We've got your back.

Do you have a hobby? You can turn any hobby into a business. For instance you could be a great baker or candy maker and buy little tins and package cookies or candies. Or maybe you make wood crafts or toys. Any number of things can be made from home. Are you a people person? Focus on making friends and showing them how to be successful and YOU will be successful. Visit a few local mom and pop shops and offer them a way to earn online. Just ask them if they have a website and offer to critique it and of they don't, ask if they ever thought about selling online. Give them one of your cards and ask them if you can give themselves call. THEN DO IT. Follow up and walk them through the steps of signing up as an ECA

First of all, I don't like using the word, "downline", because it sounds like they're under you as in some pyramid scheme. Each of us is in our own business and as such are all free agents.
And if you mean not giving the support to one that you do another another simply because they rank lower or higher, absolutely not. But then again, I don't try to force support on anyone. I OFFER it, and it's up to them to take it or leave it. Some will respond and some won't. Some will thrive on their own with or without you, some won't. So basically, our job is to encourage and motivate and not to push or pull. Offer your help but don't try to push anyone into spending money or nag them about things. They're already getting the best support from corporate, so all you really need to do is be as helpful as you can without making them feel pressured.
If they want build their own business and work, they will, and not in your time, but in their own.

When I see my team members are online I try to catch them and have a conversation when time is available and find out how they're doing or if they need help or anything. I think this builds trust and gives them a good base to work with letting them know that I'm actually there for their assistance.

I would go out in your neighborhood and find small mom and pop businesses to send them to. Also having your wave 3 bumper sticker in plain view and asking people who come close to your car if they've ever thought about having their own business helps if you're comfortable enough to do that. Make sure you have your business cards and offer them one with your id in place and see if they will be willing to accept a call from you.
Lots of small businesses have their own sites, and some don't so make that one of your top questions when sending the cards out. Offer them a way to get out of debt, get new customers, and share their business online with millions of people on facebook, twitter and other popular sites.
It's all good. :)
