Creating my own SFI co-op...or starting a blog about SFI...which will provide the most value?

In my opinion you do these two for different reasons.
Your blog is designed to attract new affiliates. If you use the correct words to bring surfers to your blog you will get a lot of hits and some of them will sign up.
My blog is not about SFI - it is about dealing with ADHD children. SFI's banner is there as an "advert". I mention it as a way to help me deal with the financial challenges I face and put a link to SFI where I mention it. A lot of people will click on the link and some will sign up. Why? because I mentioned it as part of my blog about ADHD children and they are human, so they are curious.
The co-op is to help your existing affiliates to build their team. You can let them buy shares or you can add our movers names for free to help and encourage them. My co-sponsor do it that way - so a lot of my PSA's sign ups came from his co-op.
I feel we have to make full use of every tool SFI offers us.

How important is it to read the latest SFI news...and how does this apply to building your business?

The first obvious reason to read the SFI newsletter is so you can see if there is a Spin and Win competition BUT - there are more reasons
It is interesting to read the newsletter - to see what is happening with SFI.
The Newsletter should not be your only reading - you need to go to the News Page - why?
If you make it a habit to go and read the latest news you will never miss an important announcement about an exciting new feature in SFI.
Because this is the internet and there are idiots out there that makes it their mission to plant viruses and hack into accounts and mess with everything - SFI will post a warning or Alert about it - and you definitely do not want to miss that!
As soon as new study material is available - you will see it in SFI News.
There are so many reasons to read the latest news, I can not list it here unless I want to write a book. Most of these reasons are actually common sense reasons.
Look at the SFI News as our community page where you can stay up to date - if you fall behind you can miss out on a tremendous opportunity.

How can I get people who are engaged in other network marketing businesses to take a look at SFI?

Hi there
I find people want something when they get the feeling they are loosing out if they do not have it.
So you have to be a little sneaky getting them interested. "Brag" about how your business is growing and that you are so glad you took the opportunity when it was presented to you.
Tell them about all the reasons why it is working for you (free, support, different ways to earn etc)
Most of the time they will ask you questions. They will try to get the "secret" out of you - give it to them - but do not be eager to do so.
Your testimony and happiness and satisfaction will make them think. Trying to convince them that your way is better than their way will only make them protective of their way - that is how the human mind works - protect your own.
Do not compare their way with yours - let them do that in their own minds. They might not ask immediately - but they will go on and think about it - so make sure they have your card or number so they can contact you once they thought about it.
Treat it like a game / challenge and enjoy it.

At this time, which are the best countries to advertise SFI in?

At this stage I would say your own country would be the best. The reason is very simple - language.
I have affiliates in my team from different countries and I am pretty sure they are not reacting or doing what they need to do because they do not fully understand English. I am trying to communicate by translating my message in their language but I think a lot is lost in translation. It is also extremely time consuming if you have 20 people from 20 different countries and you have to translate.
You can also communicate with people from your own country easier and set up ways to work together a lot easier, you experience the same kind of obstacles, have to adhere to the same rules and regulations etc. You can provide more personal support too when you are in the same country and speak the same language.

How do I identify amongst all my downline members which ones could be superstars in SFI?

To me that answer is very easy - I believe you can not "write off" any of your affiliates. I believe in staying and acting positive and to give people an open-minded individual chance to proof themselves. I do not judge by looking at what I see only.
As far as I am concerned every single affiliate on my team is a potential super star. The fact that they signed up is enough for me to give them the benefit of the doubt. My weekly newsletters goes out to every PSA and every CSA on my team as if they are already stars. Should one of my inactive members suddenly start showing life again I immediately acknowledge it - acknowledgement might be all they need to start getting serious.
My energy and personal attention and one on one help and encouragement I reserve for my movers - whether they have 5 or 500 VP. I hope and believe they all know they are important to me as an individual. I treat them with the same respect as I want to be treated. I see and treat them as if they are Superstars already.
Do a little research and you will see examples of musicians, writers, business men, people from all walks of life that was turned down or not given a chance, proved themselves as superstars in their field. How will you feel if one of your affiliates become the highest earner in the history of SFI and you never gave him or her the time of the day?

How can I be a successful student AND teacher in SFI at the same time?

I think that is probably the easiest part of building your business in SFI.
You learn new things just about every day. You learn what works and what does not work. Your successes and failures teaches you something (what to do and what not to do)
When you learn something, teach it to your team. You can keep a little notebook and make short notes whenever you learn something. Use your notes to write your team mails.
You do not have to write profound papers on SFI and become an academic professor - just be honest and remember - you are learning and whatever you learn you can teach them.

Is it better to promote SFI to friends and family...or to strangers?

I tend to avoid friends and family that is always trying to convince me to do something. In building my business I go about it my own way and would mention it in everyday conversations with family and friends. Example - They would ask what are you doing? or what are you up to these days? Then I would reply with oooh, I am working on my new business and having a ball doing so. Some will ask questions which I will answer honestly and some will just say - good luck and enjoy - then I will not offer any more information as they are clearly not interested.
Strangers are just friends you still have to meet. I would not go up to a random person in the street and try to recruit them but if I am at a function or another place where strangers tend to talk to each other (like standing in a queue) they tend to ask questions like - what do you do for a living - and then you tell them and if they are interested (if your enthusiasm is contagious), you give them your card.
Reaching strangers via advertisements can also work - and again, you have to be honest and not lie and you should not bore them.
I prefer strangers because my family and friends are more important to me and I do not want them to avoid me because I am trying to convince them to join SFI.

How do I get my affiliates to understand the importance of grabbing the DAILY Action VP available to them?

In the beginning they might not pay much attention when you tell them to log in every day and to do their daily actions. You can tell them and give them every reason under the sun - some will listen and others wont - until they find it out through experience. (that was me when I started)
As soon as they learned enough about SFI and the principles it is build on they will realise that every single VP count and that you can come short at month end if you do not grab every VP you possibly can throughout the month.
Not much more to say except - you can do your best, provide the facts and the rest is up to them.

What should I do to gain maximum support from my upline to grow my SFI business?

You need to show signs of life. Some affiliates never talk to their sponsors in any way. As a sponsor you are leading in the dark without any feedback from your team members.
Ask your sponsor or co-sponsor questions
Let them know you are in it to make money and that you will welcome their help and guidance. If you happen to have an absent sponsor or co-sponsor you can ask other upline members questions.
You are a sponsor yourself - why do you go the extra mile for your affiliates? Because they communicate with you.
Communication is very important.

Should I stick strictly to using SFI's system or would it benefit me to add some of my own touches and strategies?

SFI gives you a lot of training and power tools you can use but if you can come up with something that works and you are not breaking SFI rules I say good for you.
I don't think that thinking out of the box and creatively is wrong and would be frowned on - and I hope you share it with the rest of us. I think this section (Ask SC) and the forum is exactly what is intended - so we can share and brainstorm and help SFI to become better all the time - to the benefit of us all.
SFI is giving us knowledge and tools to use - but not a step by step recipe to follow without deviating. Your own touches and strategies will put you apart from thousands of others.
