Timely and efficient support from a sponsor and co-sponsor can be very beneficial to an affiliate in helping grasp the essence of SFI business building and allow him/her to see positive results very early. An affiliate is not required to make special efforts to get such support. Furthermore, this support is not absolutely necessary to the affiliate’s success. Historically, it is proven that an affiliate who works diligently with focus can do exceedingly very even if that support was not forthcoming.

SFI's business building model favors team work. The intent is to bring upline and downline to work together. Both sponsor and co-sponsor play a major role. They are the most direct and closest to the affiliate. This is the ideal model we all are trying to implement. When it works perfectly, a new recruit does not need to make unprecedented efforts to be noticed by their sponsor and co-sponsor. The model provides all the tools and circumstances in which both sponsors and co-sponsor will reach out to their affiliates and extend all the support needed to yield success.
As soon as you register as a new member of the SFI family, your sponsor is immediately notified to send you should receive a welcome message. When you complete your profile, they receive a second notification. You are also encouraged to send them a message seeking their support. All this is built in the registration process. By now, you and your sponsor should have had enough interaction and built the ground floor of your teamwork. Every affiliate is afforded these opportunities.
As you continue your training process, attending to the first major tasks of working through the "Getting started", and "intermediate activities", reading your Launchpad lessons and other training modules, you will very likely be among your sponsor and your co-sponsor "50 Movers". This "Movers" red tab is the first opportunity for both sponsor and co-sponsor to identify their team members who are serious about building their businesses. It offers them the possibilities to develop professional working relationships and teamwork.
All this should happen without the new recruit going out of their way to get the attention of their sponsor and co-sponsor.
However, the model does not always work as intended. I personally have had no support from my sponsor; and my co-sponsor has already changed at least once. My experience is not unusual. It may actually be close to the norm as many affiliates are not getting meaningful support from their sponsor or co-sponsor. It happens very often that an affiliate does much better that his/her immediate upline. They may build their teams faster and advance through the ranks faster. They will, then, find themselves no longer in need of their sponsor and co-sponsor who are at much lower ranks.

He did not get any help whatsoever when he was an affiliate marketer building his business. That lack of sponsorship did not hinder his success, on the contrary. That success is the foundation from which SFI grew up.
The fact that some sponsors/co-sponsors fail to provide the adequate support does not negate the usefulness of sponsorship in affiliate marketing. However, it does highlight the fact that success is possible, with or without a proactive sponsor/co-sponsor.
Hence, if you are an affiliate who demonstrates commitment to the success of your business, but you are not getting any help from your direct upline, you can contact them directly. You can also contact other members of your upline above your sponsor. Finally, you have all the "Help Resources" available to all SFI affiliates: Technical Support, Forum, Ask SC, and your a2a Network.
The bottom line is: your success is essentially the result of your own work whether you get the support from your upline or not. Your upline, sponsor and co-sponsor, can only do so much. It is upon you to do the bulk of the work required to acquire the knowledge, build your team, develop and apply a sales strategy, bring in the resources and devote the time necessary to make your business successful.
