I think both offline and online recruiting are good, but I'd like to choose which one is best because that's what your questions asks.

Online recruiting is better than offline recruiting.

Why?

Self-Confidence (or lack of it)
Many offline recruiting methods require a little self-confidence. For online recruiting it doesn't matter how one feels about being face-to-face with strangers.

Location
While it's not impossible to recruit offline in cities or countries outside of your own, most offline recruiting attempts will generally be done in your own city only. Doing online recruiting allows you to market to the world inexpensively, and easily. You can reach more people online, and more quickly than reaching people offline.

Expense
While there are both offline and online free marketing methods, or very inexpensive marketing methods, online recruiting presents more opportunities to market or recruit at no cost, or inexpensively. Free-to-use advertising banners, splash pages and gateway pages can be used online. For offline marketing, even free-to-use flyers require at least printing.

Set-and-Forget
While doing something like putting a flyer up on a local community notice board or in your car window is a set-and-forget method or recruiting, as is using a car sign magnet on your car, there are many more places online to use set-and-forget methods of marketing or recruiting: using credits you've already earned in a manual traffic exchange site, paying for your splash page or gateway page to be shown many times in a traffic exchange site, placing an ad banner on your personal website or blog that is already getting traffic, adding a text ad to your existing signature in your emails, sharing a link on social sites or other sites.

Quality
While both the printed and digital marketing aids look good, the digital marketing aids do not deteriorate in appearance over time.

Convenience
You're at your computer anyway, working your SFI business. There's no need to get up from there to go and do some offline recruiting, if you are using online marketing or recruiting methods.

Matching
SFI is mostly an online business. Online recruiting matches up with this.

Target Market
Many forms of offline marketing and recruiting will be in areas where the general public is, many of whom will not be interested in joining SFI or TripleClicks. Some may not even use or have the Internet. Online marketing and recruiting not only targets mostly people who are already used to being online, but, and depending on where the ads have been placed, online marketing or recruiting can also be targeted to those who are already interested in starting their own business, or in making money from home, or in earning extra income, or in being self-employed (SFI), or in selling online, or in shopping online, or in penny auctions (TripleClicks).

The word "pursue" makes me think of a high energy mad chase. This I do not advise at all. You need to devote your energy to those who are active.

As for giving up on your inactive PSAs or CSAs, I advise never giving up on them for as long as they are members at SFI.

Never giving up on them doesn't mean you have to chase after them night and day, though.

If your initial efforts at getting your PSAs and CSAs active do not yield any results, you shouldn't feel bad about sending a group team mail to them only once a week. While this takes minimal effort (allowing you plenty of time over to concentrate on your movers), you're at least not giving up on them.

I haven't done it yet because I'm always nervous that some affiliates may not really be lazy, and that there may be a good reason why they're not being very active, but if I was 100% sure that they were being lazy, I'd consider writing them a team mail along these lines:

Hi Lazy Bones - Okay, that was just a joke - let me start again:

I have noticed you haven't been very active at SFI lately. I assume that this may be because you're spending a lot of time searching the Internet for free and quick ways to make a lot of money, or that you've already found that free and quick way to make a lot of money, and you've already retired and gone on a long and expensive (but not to you because you've made so much money in such a short while) vacation. If so, congrats, and enjoy your vacation!

Oh, I'm sorry. Was that a little rude? Why? Because you know that free and quick ways to make a lot of money don't exist?

Mary (or Peter or Paul or Jane or whatever their first name is), I do apologize for my harsh start to this message. My only excuse for it is that it drives me crazy when I see that people, often people who desperately need to increase their income (I don't know if you're desperate, but I do know that so many people these days are) don't make use of free things that can help them.

It's so much more than about the money I could earn if you start putting in some effort at SFI. I get a kick out of seeing people being rewarded for their time and effort, and a kick out of seeing people being happy. There are far too many unhappy people in this world - and there doesn't have to be!

SFI is not just an opportunity "out there somewhere" - you've actually already joined the SFI opportunity! Now just make it work for yourself. Everything you do at SFI is one tiny step closer to achieving all that you ever wanted to.

A first step can be very difficult to take. It can even be scary to take that first step. But once that first step is taken, the other foot just has to follow. Lean forward. You'll find you have to take another step to prevent yourself from falling on your face. Before you know it, you'll be walking briskly, with your smiling face help up to the sun, while your feet find their own way forward.

I'm too addicted to TCredits to have bought or used anything else yet.

I don't think it's such a bad thing that I've so far only bought and used TCredits, and it doesn't mean I don't plan on buying other TC Direct products in the future.

In fact, I feel that the use of TCredits helps me with getting closer to the day when I will be able to purchase other TC Direct products.

Besides the above, why do I really like TCredits?

Using the new feature legally and ethically would be the first things to think about.

One should always set a good example when supporting one's SFI team, and using images in an illegal or unethical way is no example you would want to set.

1. Be sure to add only photos or images that you:

- have taken or created yourself
- have permission to use
- are not copyright to somebody else or to another site

2. Be aware that simply using a photo from a website and crediting the source does not mean that it's okay to have used that photo.

3. Be aware that photos you find in Google Image Search results are only there because they are on a website somebody owns - don't use the image directly from Google Image Search results - visit the actual website and see what that site's or site's owner's rules are about using the photos you see on that site.

4. Use photos from Stock Photo Sites or from Image Libraries that are free to use, and that preferably do not require source crediting.

5. If there is an image on a site that you'd like to use that does not require source crediting, do not assume that all images on that site don't require source crediting. Check the usage licences and information about each photo or image you wish to use.

The best time to upgrade your rank from EA to BTL or higher is when you can afford to - regards cost and time.

Cost:
If you can afford to spend money to upgrade, and, unless you are prepared to work hard at maintaining or improving that rank, can afford to spend money each month to maintain it, then go ahead and upgrade.
Why?
Besides the extra benefits that come along with being a Team Leader instead of an EA or EA2, a Team Leader badge makes you appear more authoritative - your team may be more inclined to hang on your every word and to follow up on what you suggest they do. Your upline may also be more inclined to help you - they know to "work with the workers" and now you look like a worker.

Time:
If you have no or very few EA2s in your team, you are missing out on the benefits you can derive from that when you upgrade to BTL or higher, but if you have the time to work with your affiliates and EAs, then go ahead and upgrade.
Why?
The same as the previous "Why?" under the "Cost" heading - and, if you upgrade early in the month, by the end of the month your hard work and time spent supporting your affiliates and EAs may pay off for you.

I do not recommend upgrading if you cannot yet afford to, financially, or time-wise.

If you already have many EA2s or even Team Leaders in your team, who are generating many versa points, and have been for a while, upgrade NOW.

If it's professional, you've already likely covered more than half of "effective".

How many top businesses do you know of - or even top bloggers, for that matter - who operate from a free website?

Go professional right away. Register a domain. Get hosting. Install a CMS (Content Management System) like WordPress, and start working on the look, functionality, and content of your site.

There are free WordPress lessons on wordpress.org if you get stuck, but trial and error and practicing will ensure you yourself get to produce and manage an effective, and professional website. If you are determined to manage your SFI business well, you will also find success in creating and managing your own website.

Note: you can save money by installing a free WordPress theme from wordpress.org - there are over 1500 to choose from and most of them are just as professional-looking as one you'd pay for.

Once you've got your domain, hosting, WordPress (or other) CMS installed, and have installed your chosen theme, decide on your site's layout and do the settings for this. Include a few plugins (there are over 40 000 free WordPress plugins) and do the settings for them too. Do not include too many plugins or the site may be slow to load, or you may use up too much of your hosting space.

Have pages, blog posts, and categories.

Include a Disclaimer page, Privacy Policy Page, and Affiliate Disclosure section visible on all pages, or a few words with a link to the full Affiliate Disclosure page. Be as professional as possible.

Do some keyword research ahead of writing your content for your site. Include words and phrases in your content that people actually use when they search for information on the Internet. It can save you a lot of time, effort, and money if most of your traffic comes from search engine natural search results. Install a plugin to help you with the SEO (Search Engine Optimization) of your site.

Write unique posts of at least 300 words each. Watch your grammar and spelling.

What to write about?
Write tips, guidelines, detailed step-by-step instructions, and write about your own experiences at SFI. Target both your existing SFI team members and those yet to join SFI.

Then, while always remaining professional, start having some fun! Add your content, place your SFI adverts and links carefully (check that they work), regularly write and add more content, and be proud of your SFI business, of your writing, and of your beautiful and effective website.

The main reason that I bought 3 single TCredits earlier today to upgrade from EA to EA2 was so that I could answer this question. I think I saw that voting on it ends at the end of the day today, and I wanted to have my say before then.

My answer is different from many of the answers I've seen for this question.

I am of the opinion that a good financial budget to start with for SFI is zero.

It's what I did. I started with no money.

I wanted to purchase the New Member Pack within my first ten days at SFI, but I couldn't afford to. I was disappointed that I couldn't afford it, at first. Now I'm glad. I also still managed to become an EA in my first ten days at SFI without spending any money.

Most of the advertising for SFI tells people that there are no purchase requirements, ever. While this is true, it's also very difficult for many people to quickly grasp how to advance with SFI without spending any money - money that many people don't have.

I feel that there are very many people who join SFI who cannot afford to purchase anything, even things that cost less than $10 or $20. They came to make money; not spend money. Then they discover that there's work involved in order to advance with SFI. This chases some people away.

The discovery that there's work involved also makes determined souls attempt to try advance anyway - but in many places on SFI, and mentioned by many people on SFI, is talk of purchasing things to help one advance with SFI. To help prevent this discouraging those who are trying so hard to advance with SFI, and to make money with SFI, they need to see more people speaking about how to advance with SFI, and how to make money with SFI, without spending any money themselves.

I feel that those who are able to advance with SFI without spending any money themselves are in a better position to support and teach the determined souls in their team how to do the same.

Many who spend money to help advance themselves in SFI may fully understand how to do it without spending money too, but who better to teach those who can't spend money than those who aren't spending money themselves - who are actually experiencing it?

It may seem ironic, then, that I spent some money today in order to be able to answer this question, but I do feel it is money well spent. I didn't want time to run out. If I'd had more time I could have gotten to this same point by spending much more time on free methods of marketing.
