It is very discouraging to notice that your affiliates either are completely inactive or are not taking your advice to help them be successful. But there really isn't much you can do. You cannot make them log in every day and do their red tabs. You cannot make them purchase items from TripleClicks. You cannot make them respond to your emails and messages. And no amount of encouragement at this point is going to help.

Your affiliates need to want to do this for themselves. SFI is for them and they need to decide how they want to operate their SFI business. Maybe now is not the perfect time for them. It's not meaning they will never do anything with it, but maybe just not right now. Be there to encourage and support them when they are ready. In the mean time, continue including them in your team mail, and if you have a personal email, send them an occasional hello. When I do this, I also include the SFI home page link as well as their ID so they can log back in easier in case they lost this information.

What would be too much and/or unnecessary communication with your team?

Unnecessary communications would be cross-solicitations. I don't like feeling like I am just here to make someone else money and I don't want my team to think that is the only reason I am interested in them being successful.

Too much communication would be sending daily emails, unless they request it for motivation. Especially emails that don't have any valuable information.

I send my team a weekly training email. I include VersaPoint training, little SFI secrets, motivational quotes, and other things that come up during the week. I also will drop a quick email to my movers if I notice they are missing something, but that is a personal message and not a group message.

We need to be here to help guide, teach, motivate, and support our team. You will need to find the balance between too little and too much in your communication with your team.

I have read several of these answers and I have been thinking of a way to explain to new affiliates exactly what a VersaPoint is and what it represents. This came to me late last night.

VersaPoints are needed to run your SFI business. A minimum of 1500 VP keeps you in line to receive commissions.

The best comparison I could come up with was a calorie. A VersaPoint = a calorie. Just like the human body needs so many calories to function properly, your SFI business needs so many VP's to function properly.

The higher your VP's the more benefits you can receive, for example Team Leader which includes second home CSA's and matching VP's from your team. The more active your body is, the more calories it is going to consume, thus making you fitter and healthier.

Earning more VP's make your business fitter and healthier as well.

The attraction of many to SFI is that they can sign up for FREE and get FREE training. That is why I am here. I do not have the extra funds to go throwing good money after bad ideas just to see that it did not work out.

So how can we build our business at SFI on a tight budget?

First, you must make the decision to be 100% committed. Make time to log in every single day without fail to get your daily/weekly/monthly VP. Read the Forum and Ask SC and dig deeper and find other things to study on the SFI website, such as the Internet Income Course.

Second, you need to be promoting SFI, TripleClicks, Pricebenders and the ECA program.
For every non-affiliate that you refer to TripleClicks that make purchases, you get all of their VP's plus the commissions from the sales. These will all be sales VP, but they count towards your sales VP to make EA or TL.

Third, is the PPA program. For this one you promote your PPA link. You will be paid per signup, but you do not keep the affiliate, they are distributed through the co-op and auctions. You can make quick cash, but you will not be building a team to work towards long term residual income.

In general, it is recommended to have a standing order or make purchases. But sometimes that is not possible in the beginning. If you have small amounts of cash to use, I recommend buying 1 TCredit (x however many you can afford). It is less than $2 and it will get you 102 VP. 10 TCredits, plus your daily/weekly/monthly actions = EA.

If you have no cash to get started, use the above methods and generate some income. Then you can reinvest it so you can grow and grow.

For some affiliates, team leader is just a title or a badge. For others, like myself, it is a leadership role, the chance to help others.

A true team leader has the following qualities:
*a reader - always reading more to learn more
*approachable - easy to ask questions and advice from
*communicative - in contact with team members offering advice and tips
*honesty - be truthful to yourself and your team
*confidence - be sure of yourself and your team members
*committed - lead by example, don't expect your team members to do things that you haven't done or aren't doing
*motivated - know ways to help excite your team to keep them moving when they get down, as well as your self when you have an off day or two.
*creative - be able to think outside of the box to help team members with different situations and problems
*be positive - nobody wants to work with someone who is negative. Think positively. Look for positive things out of bad things.
*patience - you may have to explain the same thing multiple times to the same people, or you will have inactive workers who keep asking for help. Stay calm.

I was one who had no clue what it would be like to be a team leader. But I embraced it and will admit to my team that I am still learning and will go ask for help from others if I need it. I am patient and love to answer questions from my team members and it makes me very happy when I see that they understood what I was saying.

Inactive CSA's is just a part of this business, unfortunately.

But each CSA is a chance to build your business more.

Each month, I receive a few active CSA's, but the majority are inactive. Some are even flagged for removal soon.

I immediately send a welcome message to my new CSA team members.
Then I send a personal email message to any CSA's that are red flagged. I let them know I am their new co-sponsor and my job is to help them become successful at SFI. I remind them of when they joined and their last log in and let them know there have been lots of changes that have happened with exciting things expected for the next year. I always include the SFI link and their ID.

From there, I select a few CSA's a day to send a personal email message. Basically just to let them know who I am and that I am here to help.

I always add a note to their affiliate snapshot of sending a personal email and the date I sent it. If one has a bad email, I note that as well with the date.

I have had several CSA's that were red flagged that are no longer flagged for removal. And even a few that have come back to check things out and contacted me for more information.

They say to work with your workers, but I refuse to give up on the others. Sometimes they just need someone to help explain it to them or explain it in other ways so they can understand.

Why would you not want to answer questions? Do you feel you can't answer them correctly?

The more information you have prepared to present to a potential affiliate, the better chance of them understanding the SFI system and staying with it.

Remember, you are looking for quality, not quantity. Yes, you could sign up a bunch of new affiliates without explaining, teaching, or training them. But they are not going to last. They will sign up, log in, look around and then never come back because they get overwhelmed. Either that or you will get them active for a month and when they aren't striking it rich by the end of the month, they will disappear.

I recommend coming up with a FAQ. You could list the most questions people have asked you and your answers. Print them up, and then you could just hand them a copy of it explaining that these are common questions. Or you could email a copy. That would make sure everyone is receiving the same answers.

Each month, I sit down and lay out my plan for next month. I know each month that I get around 500 VP from daily/weekly/monthly actions, plus I buy AT LEAST 2000 VP worth of product each month. That leaves me with about 500 VP left to earn from actions.

Currently, I do not have an active team, but I maintain TL every month by laying out the plans. If I need to carry over my product reviews to next month or some of my gift cards, then that is what I do. But I have next month's plan laid out before this month ends.

This is a great question!!

I originally started out purchasing my PSA's, because I admit, I had no clue how to sponsor. Honestly, even though it gave me a jump start, it was an expensive way to start out and I have not gotten a return on that investment from those PSA's.

I am now learning how to sponsor on my own. I talk to people, I place free ads online, I place free ads offline. I am now confident in what I am doing and I really think that was they key to me learning how to sponsor on my own. CONFIDENCE! In myself, in SFI.

If you need the boost to get started, you can purchase your PSA's, but they may be expensive and you may or may not see any return on that investment. I recommend learning how to sponsor yourself.

The short answer to finding affiliates who are truly interested in SFI is advertise, advertise, advertise.

You are going to get lots of sign ups who are just checking it out since they can sign up for free, but they aren't in it to work every day to build a business, they want instant riches. The key is to find your workers. Encourage your new affiliates. Communicate with them. Work with them.

SFI isn't for everyone. That is OK, you just need to keep looking to find the ones that are ready for this opportunity.

So get out there and advertise! And advertise some more! And when you think you have advertised enough, place some more ads! You will eventually find your workers.
