As a good sponsor, being able to communicate effectively with our downlines is the most important skill. This will reduce the rate of inactivity which could be due to:-

1. Language Barrier.
2. Cultural differences and belief.
3. Lack of Trust.
4. Educational Background.
5. Computer Literacy.

Breaking communication to the nitty gritty, we need to be good communicators for our downlines to understand our method of communication and duplicate our actions. Simply put, we need to let them know that communication is the act of transferring information from one place to another, whether this be vocally (using voice), written (using printed or digital media such as books, magazines, websites or emails), visually (using logos, maps, charts or graphs) or non-verbally (using body language,
gestures and the tone and pitch of voice).

Once they understand what communication is, what factors affects communication, then it would be easier for them to understand the importance of communication.

SFI has been very innovative when it comes to communication. With such, there are variois ways in which we can communicate with our downlines either through:-

1. Weekly Team Mails.
2. Through their personal emails.
3. Through SFIchat if they are online.
4. Through stream posts.
5. Through Social Media like Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp, Yahoo messenger, etc.

These are some of SFI tools of communication which we can and should encourage our downlines to use to communicate with their own downlines.

Using such tools for communication, we can pass vital information, tips to our downlines on how to grow their SFI business, Answer any questions they may have and solve any problem they might have (problem solving skills) and training.

We are all aware of the following:

1. The sinking of Titanic Ship many years ago; A ship very near to Titanic at that time of tragedy could not pick up the signals because its receiver remained switched off;

2. For want of a nail, a horse shoe was lost;
For want of a horse shoe, a horse went lame;
For want of a horse, a rider never went through;
For want of a rider, a message never arrived;

3. In both these evens, the learning point is-the information did not reach in time. The result was fatal. Please share these with your affiliates.

4. Make them understand what will happen if communication is improper between spouses or between the Teacher and the children or between the Boss and the Subordinate or between the Market and the Manufacturer of the products or between the Pilot and the Air Traffic Controllers on Ground and so on.

5. Once they understand the point behind all these, talk to them about how it will benefit them if they keep themselves up dated with developments in SFI and TripleClicks.

6. If they do not equip themselves with adequate information on current affairs how can they take their SFI business any further? Consequently, they will be the losers.

7. Unless they stay in touch with you, make them aware that they will not be able to understand and follow certain path to sure success in SFI Business.

8. They have to realize that it requires two hands to clap & if the 2 tracks are not aligned correctly trains can not travel smoothly and in fact can result in major accidents.

9. Keep sharing things like these from the History, from Real Life, etc so they will understand the importance of communication.

10. Once this happens, if they are serious about their growth and success in SFI business, they will certainly start communicating with you.

11. Even after understanding the importance of communication if any of them or all of them choose to remain silent due to reasons only known to them, you can do nothing about it.

12. In situations like these, the option available is to “work with the workers” in your Team. Focus more on them. Support them more. Ensure they keep growing.

13. Simultaneously, keep building your Team more with fresh sign ups. Keep encouraging them regularly. Repeat this process continuously, because this is your business and you have chosen it with a clear goal of growing, winning and earning regularly.

This is the most important things in any business as well as relationship. Do you Know communication is the # cause to divorce or break ups in the world beside

If there is mutual communication on both side the rate of survival is minimal. In this case the survival of your business or growth.

So you have to respect that at least from your end. Means never stop communicating
With your affiliates even if they don’t communicate with you.

You can’t control their side but you can yours. Always be on top of your game, ask them what they want to achieve, what’s their goal, what kind of help they need from you or if they need your assistance.

Tell them you are always open or available when ever they want you. Your communication will determine their interest in the business especially in the early stage of their signup. I spent countless ours with my team members communicating and helping them when ever they need my assistance, never shy back when they need me. Try my best to be for them when they need me the most.

In the process they learn and see the light how they can be available for their downline as well and they do a great job doing that also.

So you set the tone, Let them know the more they communicate with you, the easier to grow their business.

If you see them online, say Hi, to them, if you see they are doing their job, drop them an e card to tell them that you proud of them. When they win Auction, games, daily drawing, also advancing in rank, congratulate them the more you do it, the more chance you get for them to response.

I know we all know communication is important but some how we don’t value it. It could be
A shyness or cultural difference as well. But the more we do it the more it is getting better or
The more we understand and learn from it.

You need to promote the importance communication by being the best communicator you can be.

I know its not very encouraging when no one talks to you. I fully understand the frustration many of the sponsors suffer. Many of us send out streams, newsletters, e-cards, emails, chats etc and even try to connect with affiliates on social sites etc.. but still many do not respond. Whatever we do we should not give up. Communication if you like, is the lifeblood of the business. We have no choice but to keep on persevering otherwise our businesses will not grow.

Keep on connecting with your affiliates and urging them to respond to your messages.

I often include in my stream messages and newsletters activities that my affiliates are invited to action in the hope that they will respond. eg 'Let me know your thoughts on this' 'How did you find it?' 'How about some feed back on this' etc..

Every message also includes a reminder that I am here to help and they only have to message me. I often get responses from my workers The silent majority unfortunately remain silent!

Every time you receive a message from one of your affiliates, respond immediately especially if they are online. Be excited about getting a message. Some affiliates feel that they are intruding and probably had to swallow their pride or work up the courage to ask for your help. Do assure them that they are not intruding and that you are genuinely pleased to hear from them

If the respond needs to be a lengthy one, acknowledge the message briefly and say that you will come back with a more substantial answer. Give a timeframe as to when this will happen and make sure you keep that promise. I often receive messages that require research etc on chat. I often tell them to check their email as I will be responding to them via email.

If you dont know the answer to their question say that you will find out the answer. If you feel that they could have found out the answer themselves, dont fob them off and dont just give them a link where they can find the answer. Give them a brief answer and guide them to the link where they can find out more information. Show them how to find information at the SFI site. Ideally they should feel pleased that they have contacted you for help, that this was a pleasant experience and that they will ask again in the future. They are going to continue communicating with you.

I make a point of responding to all messages within 24 hrs. I also make the point of following up with my affiliates within 48 hrs of my message to see how they found it etc..

The main point I am making here is that I believe that the best way of getting your affiliates to understand the importance of communication in SFI is to be an active and an encouraging communicator yourself.

When I thought about an answer to your question I first tried to find a situation where communication is not important. I can't think of any situation where communication is not important - not if you want a balanced normal life. Keep in mind communication can happen in many different ways - not just verbal or written.

Communication in any aspect in life is how we convey messages, build relationships, solve problems. How can you solve a problem or help a person if you do not know that there is a problem or what the problem is? How would you know it if not through communication?

You teach / train / guide your affiliates through communication.
You can only help them with a specific problem if they communicate it to you.
One learns new things through communication in one way or another on a daily basis.
A lack of communication leads to assumptions - and assumptions are the mother of all failures. (whenever I think about that statement I think of a manager I had at work - except the word he used instead of failure will get me banned from SFI!!!)

Communication start when we are still babies - we cry to communicate to our parents that something is wrong or we need something.
Once we start to talk we ask questions so the world around us can be explained. We are not born knowing things - we learn about our world through communication,

SFI is a business. It is reality - even if it is online. it is part of our lives. In a business like this written communication might be even more important than anywhere else. Verbal communication is not always possible and other forms of communication like facial expressions, tone of voice and body language is almost non-existent.

Communication in all its forms and shapes is an integral part of our lives - why would it not be part of our SFI life?

Ask your affiliates how you can help them. Explain to them that you can only be a true leader to them if they communicate their needs to you. In my opinion once we realize this is real, not a game you would come to the conclusion that you need to communicate just like you do in your every day life.

To help your affiliates understand the importance of communication in SFI, you must communicate with them! Send them a welcome email or e-card as soon as they join and let them know that you are there to help and guide them.
Communicate with your team in every way possible through SFI - Stream, team mailouts, chat, SFI messages and your leadership page.

You can also communicate with your team via your blog and facebook group. A webinar would be a great way of communicating also. Even more important than the medium is the actual message. Make sure you present valuable information to your team whenever you communicate.

When you send useful information regularly to your team you are demonstrating to them the importance of communicating and as they then begin building their own teams, they will follow your example and communicate with their own teams.

The main way of demonstrating the importance of communicating is by doing it yourself regularly and in a variety of ways.

For your inactive affiliates you can't make them understand the importance of communication in SFI.

As for your active affiliates or for that matter your upline team leader effective way to communicate is to as quickly as possible reply to the questions raised with correct answer and showing the right path. Better even is your affiliate should directly connect with you instead of raising the issue in Forum at first. If they are not happy with your reply, then only they should raise the issue in Forum to get expert views.

Through effective communication with our team we can teach them how they will be able to get success in SFI through duplication. And through effective communication only we will be able to build strong bondage and relationships with our affiliates which is going to be one of the most important factor for success.

In building your SFI and TripleClicks business one of the first things you are going to find out is just how important it is to develop good communication relationships with your teammates.

With you being the leader of your group it will be your responsibility to share with your team how important it is to stay in communication with each other. This is no easy task and it will take a lot of trial and error to start getting good connections from your teammates.

SFI has made it easier for the team leaders to build good communications with our teammates through the free multiple methods provided for us. Such as: Ecards, the Stream, the forum, live chat, and various mailers.

One of the easiest ways of teaching your teammates how important it is to communicate with you is to “tell them.”

Right from the day a new affiliate enrolls in my team, the E Card I send them, tells them how important it is for them to keep in contact with me and then I list a few ways in which they can do that.

Once a month in my team mails I will also stress how important it is to keep in contact with me, I let them know that I can only work with those who take the time and effort to share their desires and needs with me – “I cannot help if I do not know what you need.”

All the team leaders can really do is to set an example of the importance of good communication by using all of the methods provided by SFI and occasionally using other sources such as social systems, Skype and personal emails and phone calls.

Keep in mind that not all of your active affiliates will communicate with you – and that is OK because it is their business respect that and work with those who are willing.

As long as you keep “showing” how important team communication is, you are doing your part, the results are in their hands.

One of the reasons of having our Genealogy being crowded with inactive affiliates was a miscommunication of some sort and/or non-communication.

Making affiliates to understand the importance of communication in SFI is a big challenge. But as Paul J. Meyer had said, “Communication - the human connection - is the key to personal and career success.”

Since communication is at the heart of what makes us an awesome sponsor and team leader, consider the following elements of successful communication:

GOALS

Your communication must be goal-oriented. Make sure you yourself is clear of what SFI goals are as well as of what your own goals are. Pursue and achieve your own business goals so that your team members can see with their own eyes that SFI goals are doable and attainable.

COMMUNICATION STYLE

To make your communication successful, consider the SFI goals you are trying to achieve and the needs of the affiliates you are trying to influence,

Your communication style should vary depending on who you are trying to inform or convince. If you are informing your new PSAs about how to do SFI, don’t give too much information; just give the basics so as not to shy them away with information overload. If you are convincing your future Diamond Team Leaders to follow the PLAN, your communication needs to be high-level and concise.

CLEAR

In your communication with your team members, deliver your message in a clear, concise, and to the point . Never assume your PSA will know what you mean or will be able to read between the lines.

Your message should state the purpose why you are writing them whether you want to inform or to challenge them.

MOTIVATING & HONEST

Make sure your message to them is interesting, exciting and contains emotion such as empathy when they are having difficulties in meeting their rank requirements or happiness when they reach a certain milestone.

Be honest and truthful. Your team members will appreciate your honesty; and if you will gain their respect and confidence, you will have won half the battle in keeping them.

FEEDBACK

Know that communication is a two-way thing. Make sure that you get their responds when you send them messages. Your role as their sponsor or a Team Leader is not only to inform and motivate them. You must also get a feedback, otherwise it simply is not real communication.

For example, you inform your affiliates of the recent changes in the rank qualification structure; and the reactions in any changes in the system is usually negative. This leads to demotivated affiliates or team leaders who spend time moaning about the new scheme and negative conclusions as to what is behind the change. Or worse, they decide to opt out.

Take the time to make sure your team understand the changes. Challenge them to use the new incentive plan designed to drive their business. See to it that you get a feedback from them.
