I would say your 1st communication will be on live chat if you and your new team member is online at the same time. However, I find the new affiliates does not react always - maybe they are not aware of the same time message option?
e-cards still remains a lovely way to communicate with individual affiliates and to let them know they are special to you and that you are interested in their progress and willing to help them.
Team mail is another very good way to communicate with individuals or groups and then your genealogy mail is very valuable.
Once their e-mail is verified and the envelope next to their names turned green you can also send individual mail via e-mail.
Firstly you will communicate to welcome them to your team. Make sure you give them all your contact information and to explain to them what your role is.
When you see the opportunity you can send e-cards with tips to help them out.
You will also send your weekly teammail - for this make sure you have structure and the letter is written to train and support - not just a few words to send so you can earn the VP - to not use this letter to its full value is a waste of time. You can altually draw up a plan for yourself to decide what you want to say each week. Keep these letters and build your own library to use again.
Answer e-mails with questions from your affiliates as soon as possible.
Do not send a avalanche of letters every day - all you will achieve is to fill up your affiliate's inbox and irritate them. It can also be seen as spam if you are not careful.

How can you be an SFI Team Leader if you're not a born leader?

Remember, a leader is not always the loudest or most visible person in a room. As a matter of fact - a real leader don't have to be loud and visible in that way. It is also not possible for you to be a leader in every aspect in life - why? because you do not know everything about everything.
In SFI your knowledge and enthusiasm will determine what kind of leader you will be. It becomes almost inevitable that you will lead more and more as you gain knowledge and experience.
Become visible to your team by supporting them the way you would like to be supported.
Become your team's leader by improving yourself - your own knowledge, your own experience and your own enthusiasm. Become the expert they will trust to give them the right advice when they need it.
Do not pretend to know it all and suck answers out of your thumb - if you do not know an answer - find it from another source.
Do not spoon feed your team - but teach them to help themselves (Give a man a fish and feed him for a day, teach him to fish and feed him for a lifetime)
Lead by example and remember the very old but still very true saying - if you want to change the world start with the man in the mirror.

What are the benefits of Pricebenders auctions that I can promote to prospects?

You might've noticed that there is a WOW Auction featured on Triple Clicks every day. I use that specific auction to promote Triple Clicks and the Price benders auctions. Share it where ever I can - it is a more subtle approach(or maybe it is not so subtle for some people) These people will recognise a huge bargain when they see one.
Other people might be a bit slower and they have to see a few of these before they sit up and take notice.
And then there are those that you have to hit over the head and point out the obvious to them before they will even start taking notice. They are the ones you have to tell or ask - how much will you pay for this if you have to buy it now? So what if I tell you somebody bought this on a Price Benders auction at Triple Clicks for 99% off the normal retail price?
I also follow a more direct approach with friends and family by telling them about this wonderful bargain on Price Benders - by this time most of them know what I am doing to ensure a better standard of living for myself and my loved ones. I am not trying to sign them up - I know better than trying that on them, I just peak their curiosity.
Know your customers (or more accurately - recognize that people need different things to force them into action)
Hope this helps

Are you planning to use the new JMT Gateway...and will you recommend it to your team? Why or why not?

I looked at my JMT Gateway and I am very pleased. it looks professional - so yes I will definitely start using it and once I am sure what I am recommending I will give my team the pro's and the cons of using it. But If I know my team I am sure they already started looking at it on their own.
I don't think your workers will wait for you to recommend it - they will investigate and use it on their own.
Your more inactive members will need a bit more - that means you have to know what you are talking about because you used it. Don't tell them what you heard tell them what you experienced - both good and bad.

Is it worthwhile to create individual, personalized welcome letters to new PSAs using information from their Affiliate Profile?

I send welcome e-cards and then a welcome letter using their names. If you find information on their profiles that you can use - like the language they speak and so on - use it.
Unfortunately a lot of times they sign up but do not complete anything on their profiles that you can use - in such a case you send a standard letter using their name. Your Welcome letter must tell it all - the message should be - you are important to me - and using their name sends that message.
Is it worthwhile? Yes, without a doubt.

Is it better to build a team within your own spoken language and environment...or go beyond these boundaries ?

The easiest and most practical way would be to have a team that speaks your language and are facing the same obstacles as you. it would also make direct communication in same time a lot easier. You can arrange workshops and a get together.
Having said that - it would limit your market. Making contact with people all over the world, having them on your team can prove problematic if there is a language barrier but you can find ways around that. It can also be very exciting end profitable and a challenge - so I feel - why limit yourself.
Maybe you can start close to home and then gradually expand your team to other countries.

What are the personal characteristics and skills you need to become successful with SFI?

1. A will to succeed - a hunger to better your life
2. Lazy people will not succeed with SFI - or any other venture for that matter. But
it does not mean you have to work day and night - work smart.
3. The fact that you are here means you have the most basic skills to do what you need
to do - the rest you will learn by doing what SFI teaches you
4. DO NOT be afraid to try - what is the worst that can happen? You are not investing
your life savings, you are investing your time and although time is precious,
giving your time will not leave you homeless and hungry - it will only teach you
valuable lessons.
5. You need to be able to have fun and relax - do not beat yourself up if you do not
have instant success - learn from it and do better next time.
6. You need to be persistent, determined and ready to improve your life.

How do I get the maximum benefits of being an SFI affiliate?
, Aff ()

I would like to answer your question by telling you about my personal experience as affiliate.
I think that will depend on you as individual. Some affiliates have no other income and they will have to tap into every opportunity SFI offers and put in a full day like they would do at the office.
Others, like me, have a day job and can not put in as much time as I would like to. When I first joined I set my goals impossibly high and was disappointed. I also did not have fun.
Instead of giving up I hit the breaks and set more realistic goals for myself. I also realized that I have to be patient with myself and the process if I want to succeed.
I looked at what I am good at and concentrated on that but at the same time I looked for ways to overcome my weaknesses by learning from others, going over the lessons SFI teaches us and by experimenting with tools until I find what is working for me.
It also helps that I have an awesome sponsor - I asked her so many questions that I was worried she will get angry with me - but she did not and she helped me by sharing her knowledge and experience.
I am not yet where I want to be - but I can see my progress and more importantly - I am learning and having fun.
Don't give up - find what is working for you and go for it.
Good luck

Which helps my SFI business the most...playing Eager Zebra games or bidding on Pricebenders auctions?

For me they go hand in hand - I play the games to get T-credits to bid on the double MRP bids
Then I use the MRP points to get VP and more t-credits to bid again - and so it goes in a circle that gets bigger and bigger.
whatever you do - bid or play - you earn VP. The payoff for playing games is the chance to get T credits and if you play the paid games (not the free ones) you also earn VP
Bidding on the auctions also earns you VP and it gives you a chance to win T-credits and if you bid right you might just win an auction and get something amazing for a ridiculously low price.
My advice - do both

What should you say to your PSAs when they say they are going to quit because they are putting out more than they are receiving?

First of all they have to understand - nothing worth your while comes easy and no successful business became successful because it was easy or because the owner is lazy.
They also have to understand that it is not going to happen overnight.
Help them to change their approach and work out a plan of action, maybe re-think their goals and to remember why they started it in the first place.
BUT - having said that - if you get a feeling that nothing you say will change their minds - let them go and concentrate on the rest that is still working hard and make sure you encourage and support and you help them to grow. I think it is a better investment of your time and energy to support the positive rather than trying to convince the negative, don't you?
When you feel you are not doing well as a sponsor - don't doubt yourself, we all feel like that sometimes. As long as you remember and know you gave it your best shot there is nothing more you can do.
