5. Do not Spam - No matter how aggressive you are with your e-mail marketing, an e-mail blast to your entire list of subscribers may cause them to mark your mail as spam. Avoid it.

6. Millenials are on Mobile - are you forgetting this segment? The Millenials spend more time on their mobile devices than on their computers. It is your big mistake if you exclude them from your target audience. Put this group on your top priority group and worry about desktop traffic next.

I think there is not the biggest mistake, but there exists minor mistakes, let me enumerate a bit:

#1, Even yourself do not sure whether your SFI advertising is working. Some affiliates, they just throw their advertising at the, say, traffic-exchange sites or somewhere else and hope it works. In many cases they have no idea how to track results and adjust their advertising efforts to be more productive.

#2, Here, in my opinion, the big mistake is to spread advertising out evenly over the entire year. A constant amount spent each month in the same places. Although it's indeed a bit easy way to budget the advertising expense, but do note that we don't want advertising to be an expense we want it to be an investment.

#3, advertising in the wrong place. If you are spending your advertising dollars in the wrong place suddenly your advertising is an expense not an investment.

#4, not staying unique. I think this is one of the common and crucial mistakes advertisers would make, which is the advertisers are not sticking with what made them successful in the first place.

#5, when promoting ECA products, concentrate on product features instead of benefits. Some ads just talk about what a product has not what it does. No one ever buys a product for the features it has.

#6, the last but I think the most crucial mistake, forgetting the folks who got you there. Many businesses spend so much time trying to attract new customers that they forget the loyal customers who made them successful.

1. Please stick to SFI Rules and Regulations governing advertisements.

2. Do not talk about your income.

3. Do not provide blank promises on earning an income.

4. Choose the Targeted audience/group & word your message accordingly.

5. Keep the season like Festivals, Holidays, etc in mind and place ads. that go well with the situation.

6. If you are geography specific, then know well about the Culture and Living style of the Citizens of that Country;

7. Do not over shoot your advertisement budget.

9. Decide on the frequency and the medium of your advertisement campaign.

10. Advertisement language should be in sync with the language of the audience/geography.

12. In case you decide to go for Digital or on line advertising then do try to go in for mobile ads through text messages. This way, you will be able to reach a larger group.

- Never create wrong impression

I think the biggest mistake is setting up a BIG advertising budget and spending too much without tracking results FIRST. Before long your funds are used up and your advertising is not effective.

Tracking the results of your advertising will prevent you from wasting money on ineffective advertising. After all you want to make a profit.

Even though you may have a large budget, use a small amount of money or FREE advertising and TRACK the results from two or more sources. If they are not effective you may have to repeat the process until you get the best.

What is important is that you get results. If you track and don't get desired results at least you didn't spend a lot, if any.

After setting up a budget gather some information on the advertising company, this could include testimonials from others or number of satisfied customers, policy, guarantees etc.

Never, never place an ad or receive a click that you don't have the particulars on. I have learned the hard way the NEVER's in placing ads. I have placed the same ads for months and mostly got 0 clicks. Did I stop, no, because the ad was already there and it was quick and easy. If you have this attitude toward advertising you will live to regret it. Ad placing is serious business and needs to be treated with the respect of a REAL business activity because it is.

I have tried relying on places on the internet to track ads, and that hasn't worked well for me. It does take time to set up your own system, but once set up it takes less time to keep it up. What is hardest for me is to get myself to do the nitty gritty stuff. My Dad always said "never not be willing to get your hands dirty". This is the translation of that to ads.

A simple spreadsheet or accounting sheet will do.

There are so many mistakes to be avoided but you have asked for the worst, the biggest mistake to be avoided.

In my opinion, the biggest of all mistakes that we must all avoid is telling lies. There is no such thing as a white lie or a small lie. A lie is a lie. Do not even hint at anything that is untrue and that is one of the reasons why we should not entertain hype. By all means be excited about the products, services or the SFI opportunity but stay away from hype. That's because hype tends to boarder on untruths. Stick to facts and you wont go wrong.

Telling lies or making false claims can cause major harm and long lasting harm to your business and SFI as a whole.

You will probably get sales, PRMs or affiliates as a result of false claims but when PRMs & PSAs find out that you had hoodwinked them, most likely they will leave and you will have wasted money & time recruiting them. They will most likely tell other people of their bad experience with SFI. That is not the type of publicity any business wants. There is also the possibility of litigation, again no business wants that.

Let the facts speak for themselves and you can use other peoples testimonials if you like but do not tell lies, make or hint at false claims. Telling lies is the biggest mistake we must avoid when advertising.

I think that the biggest mistake to avoid when advertising is not doing your homework, also known as learning as much as you can about advertising, making a plan about where to advertise to reach the market that you are targeting, and following through on the ads that you place to see if they are working!
1. Make sure that you know the terms and conditions that SFI has in place concerning placing ads.
2. Decide the content of the ad you are going to place. Keep it short and eye-catching. Keep it honest. If you are caught in a lie by promising something that you can't deliver, you will never get a second chance with that person and they will tell friends.
