When you apply the hit tracking right, not only will your promotions be more effective, but you'll also be wasting less time on what does not produce any results.

Everybody says you'll be able to see the number of hits to your individual promotion sites/Gateways. This knowledge, however, means nothing if you can't see whether those hits produce any results. Here's where the key codes come into play: When you assign a 4 digit key-code to your advertising Gateway, you'll be able to track

Dear Marlene, since many people have written about the technical side of tracking here, I'd like to share the "know-how" of tracking here.

You use tracking basically for three purposes:
1. to see how (and if) your advertising sources provide hits to your Gateways,
2. to find out how effective your campaigns are, and
3. to optimize your advertising cost (also in terms of time and effort).

You also use tracking to compare performance of your advertising

How much information do you send your CSA's, or do you let their sponsor take care of them so they are not overwhelmed?

Hi Michael,

Thank you for asking this question as it corresponds to what I do right now and I'd like to share my experience.

From day 1, so to say, I treat my CSAs as if they were my PSAs and I communicate with them on a regular basis. What I share with them is not always information regarding ins and outs of SFI, but I also suggest actions to be taken to make their life as SFI affiliates easier.

Using my "Genealogy" tab, filtering options and CSA Mailer,

This is an important question and my answer may be a bit surprising both to you and to the people who will read it.

All the qualities necessary to succeed with SFI, you already have. Really! It is just your perspective that needs to be shifted sometimes to use those qualities in full.

I would mention just these here and discuss them later: awareness of the goal, determination, faith, expectation.

Why do I say you (and everybody else in that matter) have those qualities

I want to use an autoresponder on my website. What information do I need to provide to potential Affiliates in follow-up emails?

That's a very good idea, Jelena.

Having some experience with autoresponders, I'd suggest segmenting the list into those who join and those who don't join SFI and structure both series accordingly, but let's concentrate on the "joined" series.

Your first letter in the series should be your welcome letter you write here on site, with some basic information on how to collect VPs. The next one (the first in the autoresponder series) should concern the first actions to

Hi Mark,

To answer your question, I'd say "don't overdo it", meaning just concentrate on the most important things there are. If people want to know more, they usually want to know the answer to "what's in it for me?" question and it's difficult to have one univeral answer for all of them.

What I'd put in such a letter would be:

1. What is SFI - most probably they already know that from you
2. Why join?
- earning opportunity as an affilate

There are many different tools and resources outside SFI that you can use to promote your SFI business and many people here pointed out at some of them.

What I use consists of:

1. My blog (self-hosted Wordpress blog) devoted solely to my being a member of SFI, telling people about SFI, telling about what I do and how I do at SFI to achieve this or that result. However, I am quite new to SFI so some of my reflection may seem funny to other people, but that is also my point. Of

As I have written many times here, on the forum, and on my blog, SFI is like any other business and requires investment in time, money, and effort. Therefore, if you can't invest enough time, you must be ready to either work smarter, i.e. to do more in the same amount of time or to invest more money which is the easiest way to make up for the missing time.

I would suggest two investments here that will greatly reduce the time requirement:

1. Standing Order for an item ensuring

There is only one way to reach such results - massive advertising of all kind and I'll bet on warm advertising and paid advertising (which I am also using). Add time factor to that and you'll have the full picture.

People who join SFI are attracted by the word FREE most often, but you must be aware of the fact that FREE is just another four letter word (if you know what I mean). Nothing is free here, because you have to devote your time at least and this also has a monetary value. Besides,

In my opinion there are no worse or better ways to contact your affiliates, but I'd rather use Group/Genealogy Mailer instead of writing to each of them separately unless you have a real movers and workers that you would contact in person. Generally, however, the group mailer is the best option here in my opinion.

How often? It depends on what you want to communicate. I, for example, have a series of 9 training letters so far and still writing new ones. I send the first letter (the welcome
