My passion for it is the most compelling argument in favor of SFI being a unique, rare opportunity. An online business seeker would be ill advised pass it up. It is my view that SFI is second to none. Every morning I eagerly work on building my SFI business, knowing that, by persevering in my efforts, I will reach my ultimate goals of changing my life for the better, helping along the way my team mates and reaching out to others who are in need.

Actually, it is a condition to be successful here, both in the short term as well as in the long term. An SFI member has to be deeply convinced, without a shadow of a doubt, that he is part of a unique business, and it is what he was looking for.

We joined SFI with dreams in our heads: to enjoy a life of abundance, to fully care for our loved ones, to buy the house we have been building in our minds, the car that excites us, to "semi- retire" as early as we want, to travel to world landmarks or other exotic places, and most importantly to change lives around us.

Everyone of us has their "Why". We need to be fully clear of what that "Why" is and that SFI is the 'How" to make it happen.

If I am find myself in a situation where I have to convince people, I will let my own conviction shine first and foremost. That conviction being genuine and grounded on the facts of my own experience, SFI's history and tract record, it will speak for itself and win the argument.

The way to convince people that SFI is unique is to share our own deep rooted conviction, showing them how SFI is the perfect match to our dreams. This is the introduction to the demonstration. Next, we can help people identify their own dreams and their own "Why", then show them how SFI can be that perfect match for them as well.

Let's take the above as a first step, if needs be. If we are to use additional points of drive the discussion to its positive conclusion, let' use the comparison chart drawn between SFI and other major competitors pinning features against features and benefits against benefits.

If necessary, we can guide a prospect to use the same methodology and make their own comparison between SFI against any other business they have in mind. It would be wise and very effective to let them do that task themselves. We are there just to assist them, help them have a good understanding of the true meaning and potential impact of SFI programs' features and benefits. But we should let the prospect do the actual comparison himself. This is the way he will draw his own logical conclusions against which he will have no further arguments.

Outside of social media, opportunities for advertise our SFI businesses are many, both offline and online. As access to internet is reaching every corner of the world, it is only fair to foresee the continued growth of online advertising resources.

The most effective form of online advertising is driving traffic to a content made up of a website, a blog or a video. It can also serve a purpose of creating attendance to a webinar, building a prospects list or simply to a gateway.

Generally speaking, we have three sets of online advertising resources outside of social media.

The first set of such online advertising resources is within SFI. With the S-Builder co-op, affiliates without any experience can still start to promote their businesses and help their team members do so by setting up their own advertising co-op.

It is also possible to set an advertising co-op outside of SFI, provided that SFI communication guidelines and rules with other affiliates are fully respected and upheld.

The second set of advertising resources outside of social media is made up of of those that are not linked to specific advertising and traffic sites. They include:

- Blog and Forum commenting: By adding relevant information to a blog, making suggestions and asking pertinent questions, we can create interest among other readers who will check us and get to know what we are about. It is an excellent way to start generating organic traffic to our website or personal blog;

-Free and paid Classified advertising: Classified Ads have moved from offline print to online publishing. They are still very effective in finding customers for products and services as well as prospects for business opportunities;

- Search Engine Optimization (SEO): It is fair to say that there is a whole subject matter about "improving the ranking" in search engines such as Google, MSN's Bing, Yahoo , Baidu, Yandex and others. It may require some preliminary training;

- YouTube, Atom, Blip.Tv, Big Think, Min and other video sharing sites: video content has proven to be very effective in advertising. It is a very cost effective substitution to TV advertising. It can even be entirely free;

- Email marketing is still one of the top Affiliate message delivery systems. It is used to build lists of prospects or match customers to products and services. Linked to autoresponders, it is an efficient selling as well as a sponsoring tool.

The third set uses existing advertising and traffic sites. In most cases they are free to join but require accumulating or buying credits to bring viewers to our own offers. They include the following types of sites:
- Paid-to-Click sites (PTC);
- Revenue Sharing sites;
- Safelists and Traffic Exchange sites; and
- Viral Marketing sites.

SFI is making available to us, affiliates, a vast, ever expanding package of business building resources and tools. With the very recent introduction of the Uber Picks games and the PrivacyMaxx Identity Theft Protection, we will always be in a learning mode to master the effective use of all the tools.

To fully maximize our SFI business building results, we need a sound methodology.

My approach has been to proceed step by step: learning each tool, identifying which resources to combine with that tool for maximum results. For instance, advertising and marketing are indispensable. To effectively undertake such tasks in maximizing my business building efforts, I learn how to combine the tracking codes with my gateways, the marketing aids such as banners, and the advanced marketing methods with my promotional campaigns through personal websites, blogs, social media, free or paid advertising and youtube video channeling.

This is one illustration on how to combine various resources and tools.

There are conditions to be met before we start such activities if we are to be successful. We need to know how to write blogs and website content, insert banners, build email marketing campaigns, evaluate the outcome, make corrections to improve the results.

Another example may be how to assist our PSAs/CSAs in their development process to be full fledged affiliates and independent team leaders. Here, we have to know how to apply the guidelines on being an "awesome sponsor", from our initial welcome email to the stage where we are guiding our affiliates on how to organize contests to motivate their own teams. The Genealogy filters combined with the various team mail features, individual communications as well as selective motivational messages are all important parts of our sponsoring arsenal.

After we fully master a set of specific tools and know how to combine them with the most adequate resources for optimum results, while we continue to apply them, we move to the next tools and set of resources that go together.

My personal goal is to fully take advantage of as many income streams as I can. Each one of them has specific markets. I intend to gain the knowledge on how to penetrate such markets, and master the sales techniques that will allow me to gain customers.

One of the worthy challenges a marketer will face is: how to maintain successful business relationships with those customers to keep them are repeat buyers.

One last important point I want to emphasize is: to teach duplication to my team members. As I build my experience and knowledge of the resources, tools and markets, I also want to share with my downline and motivate them to apply the same approach to maximizing their positive results in building their own SFI businesses

In retrospect, looking at my 15 months with SFI, my focus would have been completely different.

I believe strongly that success with SFI is derived from sponsoring, advertising, marketing and sales. It revolves around building a team and teaching its members the skills they need to duplicate our efforts. This is what I lacked when I started. This is what I would have done differently, with a focus to reframe the situation for a different outcome.

In my first four months, I developed, from my warm market, a core team who made it to the rank of BTLs. However, we all were inexperienced in team building and in duplication. Most of these affiliates were not able to make money fast and did not have the stamina and the drive to continue. They quit. I was not an experienced Team leader to show them the vision of SFI, vision I had, which gave me the strenght to continue. Had I had the ability to share that vision, I might have retained those affiliates.

I also wasted some time with affiliates who had neither commitment nor resources to be successful.

With the experience I have gained now, I would have found a way to avoid that.

Now I have rebuilt my team. I have EA2, BTLs and STLs. My focus is in three complementary aspects of business building and growth:
(1) helping these affiliate get confident in their ability to succeed and supporting them on a One-to-One basis;
(2) working to add new team members and providing them with similar support;
(3) giving greater attention to advertising, marketing and sales. Although the results may not be overnight, I am fully confident that my efforts will pay off soon handsomely.

Part our tasks, as sponsors, is to help our team members fully understand our status and the type of business relationship we have with SFI.

An SFI affiliate is a business owner.

Running a business will always have its ups and downs. The shop owner does notice when their monthly "Loss and Profit statement" is positive or negative. They will develop a strategy to improve their results. But they will not feel demoted as they are fully aware they are not anybody's employee.

The first provision of the SFI Affiliate Agreement states: "Affiliate agrees that an SFI Affiliate is an independent contractor and not an employee, agent, partner, legal representative, or franchisee of SFI. Affiliate may not portray him or herself as an employee or owner of SFI corporate, the SFI Affiliate Center, or any other SFI or TripleClicks subsidiary. Affiliate further agrees not to incur any debt, expense, obligation on behalf of, for, or in the name of SFI".

Thus, an affiliate's personal and business motivations as well as psychological emotions are expected to be opposite to those of an employee who may feel demoted if they loose a rank or a title.

The process of going through monthly rank re-qualification is meant to help us focused on taking action to build our businesses through sales sponsoring and duplication. On one given month, an affiliate may miss the requirements to regain their previous rank. But, if they properly understand their relationship with SFI, they should not feel demoted.

At present, one can buy his way to higher Team Leader ranks, up to Gold Team Leader (GTL) or even Platinum Team Leader (PTL), by accumulating enough Purchase and Action VersaPoints without having any Executive affiliate (EA), let alone a Bronze team leader (BTL) in their downline. Thus, if they have not made any TripleClicks sales directly or through their ECA/PRMs, they will not earn any commissions.

This is one of the aspects the new Team Leader qualifications that will take effect January 1, 2016 aim at correcting.

A savvy affiliate is the one who pays attention to his team composition, his sales activity, as well as how many ECAs and PRMs he has referred. These are the factors that directly affect his SFI income, not the rank his achieves as such, if he has not build a team.

This is the message sponsors should convey to their PSAs and CSAs: to focus their efforts on sponsoring, duplication and selling. As positive results are achieved in these areas, the ranks will fall into place.

Helping new SFI sign-ups stay engaged, from the get-go, is the first indication of potential success. It will allow them to be on track in their training, meet their deadlines for Fast Tract, get full awareness of the E365 contest, and eventually qualify for the last round. It will also give the sponsor opportunities to provide adequate and timely support.

As sponsors, our task is to welcome the affiliate, make them feel appreciated and motivate them to complete the registration process. This is the most critical part on which hinges whether the affiliate will be active. Those first hours set the stage for the Fast Track deadlines.

As soon as we get a notification of a new PSA, we send a welcome message, an E-Card and/or try to catch them online and initiate an SFI IM chat. This is an excellent opportunity to get to know them, and start building a mutually beneficial working relationship. .

In the "New PSA Notification" we get from SFI, we find all the resources we need to keep our new team member active. Within, there are links to:
- the affiliate snapshot which provides us with all relevant information;
- directions to the welcome message draft;
- References to the Compensation Plan to help us understand how the addition of a new team member can benefit the sponsor;
- the guidelines and tips on how to be an awesome sponsor;
- access to our upline for support and guidance on how to help new members.

Very likely, the sponsor will continue to reach out to their new PSA, regardless of whether or not they established a first contact.

When we use all these resources effectively, we will create a positive first impression for the new PSAs, and make them feel welcome as well as appreciated

However, the extent and effectiveness of the sponsor's welcome efforts and offer of help will greater depend on what the new affiliate does in their first days of joining.

Have they confirmed their email address?
Have they whitelisted SFI, TripleClicks, and Pricebenders?
Have they completed their Affiliate profile?

First among the sponsor's goals is to guide the new affiliate go through those preliminary tasks.

In the process of completing their profile, the affiliate will sent a message to their sponsor informing them of their readiness to start building their business. That notification contains a rating on the their background and business experience . This is a valuable information to us, the sponsors. It will help us tailor our guidance and tips to match our team member's needs.

After the new affiliate has completed their profile, we will receive the final notification about their registration. It will contain references to the Marketing center with its sponsoring tools, marketing methods and aids. Thus we have readily available information to convey to our team members and direct their efforts in building their businesses.

Sponsors will be well served if they follow the charted path and apply the standard guidelines of "working with the workers". Some affiliates may show activity only later on. Others may miss important deadlines.

The point is to work with every affiliate according to their specific situation, help them take advantage of second chances for qualifying for the Fast Track and the E365 contest, if they missed the first ones, and steer them to stay on course to build their businesses.

The new team leader qualification requirements and the new Signing Bonuses concur harmoniously to achieve the same results: redirecting sponsors to focus on duplication and motivating their team members to stay active, productive so that they can earn the highest signing bonuses.

They reinforce each other towards greater motivation to build active and growing teams.

The signing bonuses are scaled up and paid out according to Fast Track qualification criteria. Hence, Fast Track is the benchmark that give access to the highest signing bonuses; and earned commissions, in the first 18 months of joining SFI, are the vehicle through which they are paid.

The new Team Leader qualification requirements give greater emphasis to duplication: helping our own PSAs grow their own teams so that they can progress through the team leader ranks. This is the way we can ensure our own progress.

Although they were not a requirement to qualify as Team Leader, they were, nonetheless, already embedded in the foundation on which the SFI Plan was built: recruiting an helping five affiliates to grow their businesses and advance through the ranks to be Platinum Team Leaders (PTLs), thus helping us qualify as Diamond Team Leaders (DTLs):

The spirit is still the same: teaching duplication to our PSAs and helping them grow their own genealogies.

Now duplication is made a requirement.

We will not be a Silver Team Leader (STL) unless we have two Bronze Team Leaders (BTLs) as first generation PSAs. We will not be a Gold Team Leader (GTL) unless we have 3 Silver Team Leaders (STLs) as first generation PSAs. We will not be a Platinum Team Leader unless we have four GTLs as first generation PSAs.

This changes fundamentally our approach to business building and our daily activity. Our communication with our team takes a different tone and direction. Our efforts focus towards different goals. The way we evaluate our results is through different benchmarks.

My initial business strategies were focused on growing first generation genealogy PSAs. My efforts were mostly toward recruiting and keeping my new sign-ups as PSAs. From time to time, I did re-assign to others of my team members. But it was not on a consistent basis.

Going forwards, while still focus on bringing in new sign-ups is maintained, greater emphasis will be given to re-assigning to those of our first generation PSAs who are the most active to help them qualify as Bronze Team Leaders, (BTLs), Silver Team Leaders (STLs), Gold Team Leaders (GTLs), and Platinum Team Leaders (PTLs).

They also should do the same for their own PSAs.

Simultaneously, the combined team work will highlight the benefits for new recruits to qualify as Silver and Gold Fast Tracks by motivating them to get the New Member Packs (NMP) and set up their standing orders (SO).

With the new awareness about handling potential issues with Gift Certificates, the sponsor's efforts will be to help the new recruits qualify as Silver and Gold Fast Tracks through TripleClicks sales if they do not have the means to do so through purchases.

When SFI started, 17 years ago, the Internet was incipient, if not inexistant as a business promotional tool. It was not a widespread business marketing avenue.

Hence, the prospects were not internet savvy either.

I. Affiliates were still successful in promoting SFI, without the internet, to prospects who had no online experience. All the veterans of that period were successful MLM and network marketing business people. They carried on to build this great opportunity we have today.

SFI was born as a result of such previous offline experience.

Part of the tools in the pre-internet era have been made available to us today. We can use them both online of offline.

There are two pages of marketing aids for beginners. Most of them are designed to be used offline:

(1) SFI and Tripleclicks Cards you can leave (i) with your restaurant bill/tips, (ii) on your public transportation seat, before you exit, (iii) in books about business opportunities, sales and marketing in bookstores and public libraries, etc.

(2) Marketing material you can print and disseminate offline at high traffic public places, bus stops, grocery stores, hair cuttery places and the like

(3) My Preferred offline promotional tool to attract prospects to SFI is the Gift cards. Everybody likes "free, no strings attached" gifts. They are great for starting a conversation about SFI and getting prospects interested. When you are using those gift cards, make sure you have the redemption codes and instructions on how to redeem them typed in index cards you can leave with your prospect.


III. Next, inexperience can be overcome easily.

Nobody is born with experience. It is acquired. To function efficiently in today's world of business, it is paramount to familiarize oneself with the online tools that are at the forefront of business growth in all industries. Business success is a process of continued personal development and change. It is never static. Circumstances, competitors, resources and tools evolve alongside with their costs, and their rates of return. To stay at the top of the success ladder, or just remain competitive, any business person will need to embrace those changes, constantly overcoming personal limitations and roadblocks.

This applies to any major business in today's market, and more specifically to SFI, given the growing competition and the wide reach of the internet.

I have affiliates (both PSAs and CSAs) who had no prior business experience, let alone exposure to online income generation. In few short months, they have reached the status of full fledged SFI business owners and online entrepreneurs. It took a tremendous will power and hard work to register such progress in such a short time. That is a clear example of "conquering personal limitations and roadblocks"

As an SFI affiliate, sponsor, mentor, team leader, sales person and sales manager (all in one), every day, I am confronted with the volatile conditions of the online market and the changing demands of its customers and opportunity seekers. Such challenges heighten my awareness of the need to stay alert, ready to react, take initiatives or corrective measures to allow me to continue pursuing my goals, remaining on tract and keeping my eyes on my final aims.

This mentality, readiness and alertness cannot co-exist with self pity, sloppiness and obscurity in our minds. We have limited choice, if any. We have to shed out any personal limitations we may have when we joined.

There is a professional and personal development curriculum embedded in SFI's training and path to business growth. It is not overstated; but it is within: our first month as affiliates is filled with intense training that requires commitment and focus. We are being familiarized with new materials, concepts, and a methodology. We are building up skills in various fields of business and technical knowledge; we are learning how to communicate effectively; we are acquiring sound work ethics, if we did not have them prior to our sign-up. Some of us may even have started taking action, using the knowledge and skills they have acquired.

Along the way, we are exposed to the Internet Income course, the rules of success, the guidelines on how to be an "awesome sponsor" just to name some of the most salient new fields of knowledge with which we might not have been fully familiar . To fully grasp such knowledge, internalize those new skills, we have to draw upon our inner strength, increase our resolve to overcome obstacles, make a sound, clear decision to rise and to aim high.

Many of us were foreign to writing content for blogs and websites, to advertising, marketing and selling. To be proficient in there critical areas, we have to "conquer our personal limitations"

Successful SFI business development does require a set of personal and technical skills to fully take advantage of as many income streams as possible and use effectively as many business building tools. I personally make it a goal to be fully proficient in as many areas of knowledge of SFI as I can

I strive to learn new skills every day and get fully familial with a set of tools available here. I value that constant learning mode, and motivate my team members to be students of SFI business development. One of the reasons I prize this mentality is the ever expanding SFI resources, income streams and features. As SFI continues to innovate (the growing Uber Picks games are an excellent illustration of this), we will be well advised to match that pace of innovation with unrelenting eagerness for learning.

However, we cannot humanely and realistically hope to be a master of all skills. There will be some where we excel and others where we will remain average.

If we lack any technical and tangible skills (how to do an odd task) we can compensate the gap with effective communication: the ability to motivate people who have those technical skills.With that effective communication and that ability to motivate, we can find experts in any field to help us, as long as we make it worthwhile for them. In the corporate world, technical managers can rise to high levels of responsibility when they prove themselves to be good communicators, motivators and excellent leaders

However, if we do not communicate effectively, regardless of any technical skills we may have, we will never perform to the optimum of our potential. To build a team of active and productive affiliates, those same communication skills are a requirement.

Effective communications are the skills I emphasize to my downline. It is important to know how to get the message across and enjoy the intended results. It is important to do it while building friendship and positive business relationship with our entourage.

It is our communication skills that will allow us to successfully interact with our team members (to motive them to succeed). to contact technical support for resolving issues we may face, to exchange information and share tips with our peers at the forum or through a2a.

It is our communication skills that will make the difference between success and failure in our advertising, marketing, sales, and sponsoring efforts.

It is also our communications skills that will help us avoid conflicts or resolve them quickly before they get out of hand.
