Valentines day = Love and Romance
Let me tell you what DO NOT go down well with most ladies on Valentine's day:
Practical gifts like a food processor, an iron, gym equipment (this will send the message he thinks she is fat), basically any appliance is dangerous as a gift on Valentines day.
If you think about it - Valentines day is one big hype and rather strange - yet most people love it unless you are single (not by choice) and dateless - then it becomes a horrible painful day.
We should treat every day as a day of love - not just one day a year. But since we are celebrating this day and we are spending a lot of money on it, we better make sure it is spot on - so here is my suggestions on what to promote.
Jewelry is always a hit - very popular and very romantic right now would be vintage jewelry - we definitely have some beautiful jewelry here.
Special chocolates - like Belgium chocolates
Fresh flowers - Definitely not artificial flowers - so if you find those on here rather promote them some other time. I doubt if you will find fresh flowers here, I just included them to exclude artificial flowers
Lingerie - I saw beautiful lingerie earlier this week on one of the ECA's pages.
Scented candles
Books and DVD's- not self help books or business manuals - romantic books and DVD's (love poems for example)
Hand crafted cards - so much more romantic and special than generic shop cards produced in mass.

How can I be a good listener when I'm engaged in online marketing?

Hi there
When we do online marketing it sounds sort of strange to say you want to be a good listener - but if you think about it, it is not strange.
You can communicate with your affiliates via phone or Skype but mostly you will communicate in writing.
I think communicating in writing is actually an advantage. It is not listening with your ears but you have to "listen" in a different way. Communication is not always verbal. Use this to be a good listener.
Why do I think it is an advantage? Because you have time to really look at the information or question in front of you. As human beings we tend to listen to another person while they are speaking to us, but we are already thinking about how to answer them. When you have a message or e-mail in front of you, you can go back to it and read it 10 times over if you have to.
To be a good listener you have to make sure you know what the other person is really saying or asking - when you listen with your ears you might not hear the real question or remark but only what you interpret at that moment.
To be a good listener make sure you know what your affiliate is saying or asking.
They might not say it directly but if you pay attention you will be able to read between the lines. Paying attention will help you to pick up patterns, habits and problems.
So - to be a good listener - PAY ATTENTION

How do you keep brand new affiliates from quitting or becoming inactive almost immediately after joining?

Like somebody else said - if you find a real working plan how to do it - let the rest of us in on the secret.
Maybe we should first try to figure out why they do that. I will give you my best ideas on that. Whether I am right or wrong..... who knows?
They are searching the internet for ways to make a quick buck - SFI looks like a good way - especially now that they see they get a sign-up bonus. As soon as they sign up they see they have to actually work to earn money and the sign-up bonus is not going to be paid out to them in cash right there and then. Because they are not looking for work just for easy money - they loose interest immediately.
Some sign up and because English is not their 1st language they look at all the information, feel overwhelmed and think they will never understand all of it and they just give up.
It is also possible that they are just curios to see what it is all about and sign up to have a look - no intention to stay.
Their circumstances might change and they just do not have the time or even the means to carry on working.
Keeping these things in mind - do your best but do not set yourself up for disappointment. Keep on sending them your weekly newsletters but do not give them gift certificates. It is possible they will come back, use the gift certificate and then stay away again.
Rather spend your efforts, time and money (if you can afford it) on your movers - they need you and your support more and frankly - they deserve it more.

I'm told to lead by example in SFI...but how can I demonstrate this to my PSAs and CSAs?

Your leadership page would be the most effective way to do just that. When you tell your affiliates to play games they need to see that you are doing it - and they see that by going to your leadeship page and seeing all your badges.
You can not tell your affiliates to do something you are not doing. They see what you do and that you are successful and they follow your example.
If you log in once a week - can you tell your affiliates to log in every day? I think not.
I do not have a standing order because I can not afford it. Because of this I am honest with my affiliates. I tell them a standing order will make it easier, so if they can afford it they must do it. If it is not possible for them I advise them to make sales and various other things.
The PSA's you recruited from your circle of friends and family is easier to show and lead by example. The affiliates you recruited online is not near you and that means they have to see your example on line and your leadership page.

How can I train my team on social media to promote SFI?

If you use something like SKYPE you can have live webinars, workshops, training sessions etc,
You can make your own recordings and put it on You Tube.
The question is actually - how can they USE Social media to promote SFI?
First thing you should teach them - do not SPAM.
If you make 20 posts, one after the other, it is going to come under the attention of the sites owners and you are going to get SFI and TripleClicks blocked.
Some of the sites - like Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest already have paid options - it means you are doing paid advertisements. It would probably be a good investment if you have the money.
If you have your own blog or website it is easier to post of the Social Media sites without getting blocked - unless you start flooding the site with your posts.
I would not open a SFI or TripleClicks page on Facebook - There are pages for them on Facebook already.
Twitter have a number of pages connected to SFI and TripleClicks already. I think it is best to post under my personal Twitter account or to share my blog posts on Twitter. Even posts on my blog, that has nothing to do with SFI or TripleClicks, re-direct people to my blog where they will see banners, gateways and product or ECA adverts for SFI and TripleClicks and when they click on that they are re-directed to SFI or TripleClicks.

What are some good ways to use the new TC Product Collections to generate sales?

I am sure you noticed people asking the question: What would be good products to promote for Christmas, Valentines day, Mothers day, Easter?
That could be your starting point. Make a collection called Gifts for Easter. / Mothers day Gifts.
Take some time and put a collection together that would make good gifts for these days. You can now promote the collection and make it easier for your customers to find something without going through thousands of products. They can find it all in one place - convenience counts a lot for people when they do shopping online. They are shopping online because it is convenient - so your collection is added value.
Apart from collections for special days you can also find unique products that you will not likely find in the local retail shop - you can name it Unique gifts / products
What about The Natural products - that is another natural collection.
Vitamins and minerals will make another great collection.
I think you get where I am going with this. It will take a little of your time initially but it will be worth it.

I want to make sure my affiliates know about and understand the value of the new Milestone Shares. How do I do this?

You first of all have to make sure they are up to date with the latest happenings at SFI. We sometimes assume that everybody will know about it because it is in the Newsletter and it is discussed at the Forum but I learned something a long time ago - never assume anything. Pay attention to detail and rather tell them something they know already before you assume.
I decided that I am just going to tell them shortly about the milestone shares and that it is just one more way SFI added for us to make a success of our business. As I see it, it is as valuable as cash. Then give them a link where they can read more about it themselves. I am doing this with all the new additions and changes SFI made. Just keep in mind that English is not everybody's mother tongue and that some of you affiliates might need a simplified explanation. I will follow this up with a short simple explanation in my own words. If you have a reactive team you can invite them to ask questions if they do not understand - but if you have a quiet team you will have to explain more and simple enough.
Think back to when you were in school. How did you understand and remember concepts and more complex problems? You took keywords and simplified it for you to understand. First make sure you understand it and explain it the way you understood it

When and how should I start preparing for my retirement from SFI?

Interesting question
I guess it will depend on how strong you are financially. If you decide to retire from SFI today and you live another 20 years - would the money you have right now carry you through? Would you be able to live the lifestyle you live now or better?
Another question I would ask - what do you plan to do with your time after you retire? Will you have a full busy life? If you are sorted financially and with a full life of whatever you enjoy you can decide what to do with your business and let SFI know.
You can always hand it over to a family member or friend to take it forward - that way the residual income is still coming in.

SFI is a truly international company. What are some good ways for overcoming the language barrier when trying to communicate?

How about learning a new language? No - just a silly little joke!
You have the translate tool - it is not always accurate but it is better than ignoring an affiliate because you do not speak the same language. You can make sure it is the best possible translation but it is time consuming - so keep communications like this for future use as well.
The translator tool works best if you use short simple sentences.
The 1st prize and best way in my opinion to overcome that barrier is if you re-assign them to another affiliate in your team.
Before you start re-assigning first take a look at the affiliate you are entrusting them to.
1. Is the person active? (a mover) - re-assigning is only valuable if the new sponsor is going to
help his / her new PSA
2. Do they actually speak the same language or do they just live in the same country?
3. Is the new sponsor able to understand English better than the ones you are re-assigning? If
they do not understand either it is like telling a blind person to lead a team of blind people
across a minefield. - it is not of any benefit to anybody.
4. Make every person involved aware of what you've done and why you did it.

What qualities should we look for in our PSAs before sending them an invitation for the Designated Diamonds program? And where do I look?

I want a great team - so I will use the DD invitation to reward my movers.
Nobody can guarantee that it will keep you affiliate working and active but if they worked before this came along chances are that they will keep on working.
I will send the invitation only to an affiliate that reached EA for at least 2 months.
I will also send the invitation to an affiliate with a SO
I would rather keep / hold back on those invites before I send them to an affiliate that is not serious about their business.
I decided that it will be awarded as a prize in a challenge - I just want to get my ducks in a row and work out how to do it before I actually challenge my team.
