The amount of your keywords found on your page, the more weight it has with the search engines and the higher your ranking. But in case you think you can load your page with keywords in order to fool the search engine, think again. Search engines are smart and you can be penalized for keyword stuffing on your website.

Search engines use several techniques to determine which category your site belongs in and which keywords people will use to find your site when using the search engine.

Once your site is ready for the search engines, then you have to submit it to them. For Google, you can submit it here:

Yahoo uses Bing's search engine, so you don't need to submit it separately to Yahoo.

Google's URL submit is very quick and easy. Just go to Google's web page for URL submitting, type in your URL, type in the message that ensures Google you are an individual not a software robot and click "add URL."

Since 2010, Yahoo search has been powered by Microsoft's Bing search engine. When you submit your site to Bing you will also show up in Yahoo's search results.

Bing allows you to submit your URL, just like Google and Yahoo!. Go to Bing's site submission page, type in the URL of your homepage (this is different than Google and Yahoo!). MSNBot will follow the links from your homepage to all of the pages on your site. You don’t need to submit your website to search engines because these days submission to search engines happen automatically. However most search engines offer the option to submit your site. If your website has been live on the internet, meaning that it can be accessed if you type the domain name directly into the address bar of the web browser then it is highly likely that it can already be found in Google and Bing.

So here are things you can do today to get started marketing your website.


1.Find a niche social media site that pertains to your exact business and participate.


2.If your site does not have a lot of content, your chances of being found are significantly decreased.


3.Update and add new content frequently. If your site contains frequently updated content, visitors have another reason to return and bookmark your site and search engine crawlers will visit your site more often.


4.Be helpful, provide relevant and useful information.


5.People are visual creatures, adding one or more pictures that help grab the visitor’s eyes, build interest, and make sure they don't leave the site immediately.


6.Build a Google+ page and Set up a Bing Webmaster Tools account for your business.



7.Follow businesses that are related to your product or service niche.


8.Start a blog. There's nothing wrong with getting the basics of blogging down by using a free service from Blogger or WordPress. *I use WordPress.


9.If you plan on doing anything with your web page, a domain name is a must. When registering a domain name makes sure the name is a short, simple, and easy to spell and remember. For example, freedomhope is a easier name to remember and type.


10.Make a video and upload to YouTube. It's easier to get a video to rank on the first page than it is to get a plain text page to rank.


11.Build a Facebook Page and work to engage those that are interested in your product or service.


12.Install Google Analytics if you don’t have any tracking software. The program is pretty amazing and it's free. You need to do this if you haven’t already.


And never forget that, a visitor will leave immediately if they are unable to navigate your website. Studies have shown the typical view time when people’ visiting a page is two to four seconds, visitors who do not immediately understand how to navigate the site or see what they want will almost immediately leave. Internet users know that if your page does not have what they are trying to find there is plenty of others that will.

If you had a Website dedicated to SFI, the quickest way to get your SFI business listed on the various search engines is to determine what key words you would put in your Browsers search engine that would lead you to your Website. For SFI this would include words about making money online, home based business, working at home, internet income, etc. To minimize the competition, you need to use key words containing several words as the simple ones are already being used by the large major Websites. One way to determine proper key words is to use key word software. This saves lots of time.

Once you settle on the key words, you need to use them in your domain name if available, in the topic headings and sprinkled throughout your Website content. Do not overuse them as search engines like Google think you are trying to game the system and rate you down. Also, do not link your Website to other irreverent Websites, as this will also cause Google to rate you down. The main goal is to use key words that when put in a Browser search engine will have your Website listed on the first or at least the second results page.

To get listed in Google and get a fairly decent rank make sure you are doing a few things. If you have a blog make sure it is your own writing and not copied from anywhere. Make sure you are posting on a regular basis and also relevant content.

Google and other search engines love fresh unique content. You also need to make sure that you are getting back links and social bookmarks to your promotions too. The more trustworthy links you have back to your site the higher you will rank in the search engines. Take a look in to seo for your site as it will help it a lot. Unfortunately going into seo is a bit too much in depth for this answer.

There is a few things that i would advise against doing. People who advertise a fresh website get frustrated that they are not getting the kind of traffic that they wished for. This is where they will go on the hunt for ways to boost it faster. In the process they will run into all sorts of dubious places selling back links or claiming to boost your website by spamming your links around the internet. In Google's eyes this is a very big no no and will only get your site punished or even unlisted.
