Building SFI kind of business requires some skills and attitudes. Building a structure literally requires materials, skill, work and time. Building a business is not less demanding! Yes there is need to invest in this business. You can only reap after sowing! In order to determine whether I can build a successful SFI business, I need to know if I have these requisite skills and business attitudes.
SFI is an online income business or opportunity. Without doubt any business requires investments to survive and thrive. To be successful I require:

1. Marketing Skill (Training)
For the profit of my SFI business, I need to acquire requisite knowledge of online marketing. I need to read a lot. If I can master the intricacies of Search engine optimization, Pay per click marketing, Blogging, Social Media Marketing, E-mail marketing, etc the better for the business.

2. Money
For any business to boom quickly, there is need for capital, however little. If I set a little amount of money as investment every month, I can take my business to much higher levels quickly. Until I start making sales or have a team of active affiliates, I would need to maintain your rank with a Standing Order (SO). I did that in the initial period, now I make enough money to plough back to the business.

3. Time and Consistency
SFI like any other business needs attention. I should find time to log in everyday for my daily actions, weekly for the weekly actions etc. I cannot abandon my SFI business and expect it to thrive. My new recruits would need my attention and I must be there for them. I should not be haphazard in this business; I need to work in this business consistently. I give some hours everyday for this business.

4. Persistence and Determination
This business is a long time investment. It's not a race - "get rich quick" scheme. It takes consistent efforts over time to hit profitable residual and leverage income. Therefore, to answer your question: "Can I be successful in SFI without investing any money? And if so, how?, the answer is YES and this is HOW:

First, you need to know that your inability to invest money in the business would require a great deal of time and devotion to succeed. Really, many things you could have done with money would require getting them achieved through personal effort, time and skill.

You need to religiously carry out your "Daily To Do List". The 11 actions that do not require TCredits must be done. This gives you 308 to 341 Action VersaPoints (AVP) monthly. By rating your Sponsor and SFI, you get 15 AVP, Stream posts 3 AVP, Click on the 'your TConnect page' and send a letter from 'GENEALOGY' to your downline. These tips would help you to win and with fewer bids:

1. Determine the time of the day when there are few bidders available at PriceBenders auctions. You can get this by checking the Latest Winners list of previous days and see when the least bids were placed on items.
2. Ensure that you have the time to spend on your system without distractions.
3. Don't bid in the early times when you observe many people are bidding.
4. Check the bid log and know the consistent bidders.

This is perhaps the question that comes into the mind of every affiliate at the initial stage of building this business..... not getting return on investment in SFI!

Yes, you need to educate the affiliate that SFI is a home business and not a job. Gery in SFI Rules of Success said "Treat your business...like a business!
If you purchased a franchise, would you expect it to make money for you if you only worked it a few hours a week? Or if you didn't get trained? Or if you only tried for a few months? Or if you didn't follow the proven guidelines of the creators of the franchise?

Of course not! That's ridiculous. SFI is no different. Success requires commitment.

There is no business that would thrive without initial investment. People invest at times hundreds of thousands of dollars into investments that may not yield until after 3 to 5 years but afterwards consistently yield in multiples of the initial investment.

In a nut shell I would tell him:

1. SFI is not a race. It is not a "get rich quick scheme". You would not likely make any significant money in the beginning. I would remind him of LaunchPad Lesson 11 .... Overnight success...NOT! I quote "We always say that if you’re not willing to give a business at least a year, don’t even bother getting involved. You must understand: It takes time to get to know all the nuances of a business. It takes time to get to know the products. It takes time to develop a game plan. 2. I'll tell to have a business owner mindset. When you set out on a business; it takes sometimes to break even. If you expect instant success in 6 months to one year; it may not come. A business owner works until success comes. It will take time to build a group. It takes time to find good people and teach them what they need to know. Sometimes your best people will give up and drop out. Persistence wins at the end of the day

3. I'll tell him to think long time. Many people get into an SFI with the idea that it's some kind of "easy road to riches". It's not. It takes work. It takes time and dedication. I'll tell him of the explosion that could come over the years in his downline. A time would come that even without doing anything; he has assured monthly income because of his downline. He could go on vacation as he likes because of residual and leveraged income.

I'll recommend to him, the classic book "Think And Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill and also "The Magic Of Thinking Big" by David Schwartz.
I'll tell him: If you want to become successful, you can go around the obstacles, go over, go under, or go right through them.
