Learning to be a good team leader is like learning how to ride a bike. At first, no one is a skilled rider. But with practice, mastery is certain. It's the same with leadership. We must learn to be effective at applying the art of communication and persuasion. All effective leaders can do this. This is a learned trait and certainly one can learn from mentors, and through education.

Moreover as your team grows, you must be flexible with your time. Our business is a global one and we can't always expect to communicate in our time zone. So it going to be important for you to avail hours that work for your team. I spend many late nights supporting my team as well as partners.

In addition, you must be willing to share information with your team. Some people are challenged by the fact that they need to divulge strategies with others. There is no need for this because everyone has a chance for success in proportion to the commitment they make to the business. I don't see myself as competing for PSAs, or auctions. Instead, I see the big picture and this is we all benefit from the activity within SFI as a whole.

Leaders are selfless and gracious toward others. They respect other people's skill sets and learn how to use human resources to benefit the team. Remember that leaders should impart such value to the team that the team is beholden to them. Give respect and get respect. Never leave a team member in a worst disposition than when you interacted with them. You will certainly gain their trust and loyalty by doing so.

In order to explain the value of milestone shares, you must first understand how they work. Everyone qualifies for milestone shares. For each new milestone achieved, banked shares are paid. So they will accrue until you reach the next highest milestone for up to 1 year. Milestone shares are paid 1 time per TL milestone. Should you ever lose a rank then you will earn shares according to the scale for the time you were affiliate through the next high TL milestone. Meanwhile, all of your milestone shares are banked until they are payable up to a year.

Shares from the EP do have monetary value. So the more shares you have the more you will earn from the EP. Now with milestone shares as a TL, you get matching VP on all those shares that are payable. For example if you have 10 EAs that bank 1500 shares, then the next month 5 become BTL then you would earn at least 44,000 matching shares from the 10 PSAs/CSAs! The only way to help them see value is to show them the money. Teach them how to use the new changes to their advantage. The more active everyone is the higher the commissions because of this new program. Now every VP is worth even more.

What qualities should we look for in our PSAs before sending them an invite for the Designated Diamonds program? Honestly, you have to really consider the matter because you only get so many invitations. If you act hastily, you will lose. People don't stay with anything that they can't monetize. All the badges in the world are meaningless without commissions essentially. Badges serve a purpose and they do that quite well. But things happen. When they do, that is beyond your control.

So what can you control about another person's choices? Nothing. If we read and study the rules of the program, we know what is at stake. Once your invites are issued, there is no turning back. It's sink or swim. Fake it or make it. There is ample time and generous terms. There's even a bonus added. Great incentive for the right PSA.

So what qualities would I look for in a Designated Diamond and where would Iook? They must have all of the following:

1. They must be a team leader. Why? Team leaders prove that they are in it to win it. They have the most to lose should they become weary and decide to quit.

2. They must have at least a 1500 VP standing order. It is a requirement for Diamonds. Again, leaders lead by example.

3. They must be a team player. TLs have a team and they sponsor consistently. TLs know that networking is a numbers game so you have to sponsor many PSAs to find those willing to take action. Essentially, the program is a partnership and each member has to be committed to the team.

4. They must to be effective communicators. TLs develop this skill because it is impossible to have an active network without effective communication.

5. They must either be, have been, or recruit ECAs. Again, the reason people come to SFI is for commissions. Sales is what makes the commissions possible. When people are making money then tend to commit over time even if the commissions are small in the beginning.

6. They must refer TripleClicks members and participate in W3, EagerZebra games, and Pricebender auctions.

7. They must possess at least a 12 month EA badge. This shows a longer term commitment and the willingness to invest time over time. Many movers work for a month then quit or 3 months then quit.

8. They must demonstrate such work ethic and passion for the business that they wouldn't need the badge. Remember, people do what they want to do because of their own reasons not yours. It's nice to have the incentive but when you have a PSA going the extra mile of the way that's a prime candidate.

How do you find all of this? You examine their VP ledger, genealogy, badges, email communications, questions they ask, and within the specific tabs of the genealogy tool. Never forget it is a partnership.

There is so much one can do to help SFI have a BIG year in 2016. I sincerely hope that every business center will consider all of the following:

1. Recruit more ECAs. ECAs bring products to TripleClics and therefore more sales and commissions.

2. Refer more TripleClicks members. Every member has lifetime value. With everyone purchase, the EP is increased when currency is used.

3. Sponsor more PSAs! Yep, the more the merrier. Why? They help sell products which builds the EP which provides an income stream for all EAs.

4. Recruit more SFIPPAs. Yep, this builds the pool of second home CSAs

5. Promote at least 10 products a day. The key to sales is to promote, promote, and promote.

6. Give 100% to your business. Anything less is mediocrity.

With all of the new incentives, I am certain everyone is looking to do all of the 6 things so that they can improve their standard of living and build a stronger future for our business.

Clearly you understand that you are not likely to be able to walk into the office of the CEO of a fortune 500 company and present the ECA program to them. What you have to do is to follow the chain of command. There is likely to be a gate keeper in the organization affiliated with marketing. This person is likely to be a sales manager or the marketing manager at a first-level management position. This is the person you need to build rapport with.

I would ask for an appointment to discuss the current ways that they are marketing their products because I am an independent marketing director for a company that can not only expand your company's customer base but also cut your marketing costs by 50% or more. Now, I have given the prospect a reason to want to spend 15 minutes with me.

Once I have the appointment, I would study all of the current marketing trends that they are using and at the meeting I would tell the manager that you know this is costing your company x amount of dollars. Being an SFI affiliate can change your change for the better but it is not without challenges. First of all you can build your own online business from scratch with nothing but a computer with an internet connection and the strong desire to succeed. Consequentially, SFI nor any other business is for everyone. Entrepreneurs have the dogmatic optimism to do what others choose not to do. To make your personal SFI website more effective, I recommend the following tips:

1. Make it strictly about SFI. Don't crowd your site with other opportunities because it distracts away from SFI. It also shows a lack of commitment and focus. Be 100% all into SFI.

2. Include an mp3 file with your voice or better yet a video with you doing a tutorial about SFI.

3. Keep all of your important links above the fold. Basically, if you put too much information on your page your prospect will just get lost in the sea of information.

4. Be sure to key code banners separately from inline links and text ads. Then you will be able to track the type of ad that pull in the prospect.

5. Change the page up about every 30 days.

6. Use a script to make the page dynamic and interactive in real-time or delayed real time.

7. Be sure your site is search engine optimized. Create quality inbound and outbound links relevant to your sites content.

8. Be sure that your site captures the contact information of your visitors by incorporating a form and give quality content away in exchange for this information.

Obviously, they know what they are doing. If they ask for your input then by all means give it and when they don't don't sweat it. There must be trust and communication.

Nonetheless, others will appreciate a direct approach. For these be sure to keep the steps in order and methodical. A co-op will work wonders when everyone works together to achieve the goal. Honesty is a priceless commodity and you want to be upfront in all of your dealings. It is a mutually beneficial arrangement when everyone has the same input. Make it work as smooth as possible. I'd stray away from ultimatums and forced purchases.

If you choose your designated diamonds wisely then you have nothing to worry about. But if not, then you are in for some challenges to say the least. The last thing you want is for someone to feel like they are trapped into something that they feel is not best for them. Keep communication open and honest. There is no shame in someone admitting that they are not ready. Let them maintain whatever rank they choose until they are ready.

If all of this doesn't motivate your PSA to be an EA2 then quite frankly you may be dealing with a situation where the PSA is not committed to their success. When this is the case, you have to work with the affiliates who understand that this is a serious business.

When none of the previous resources push the PSA to the level of commitment required then if you feel the PSA have potential then you really need to gather feedback from your PSA by asking open ended questions like "Can you tell me what your expectations are for your business and how do you plan on achieving this doing what you are doing?"

Some people are disillusioned into thinking that if they just do the diaily actions they will eventually start making good money over time. This is the same type of disillusionment that can occur with badges. Badges for Forum likes, SC Ratings, Power ranking and the like are nice to have and they serve the purpose they were created for but have no monetary value.

Therefore, as a leader you have to find out the motive of your PSAs if they are not motivated to excel in ways to produce income. There is an obvious disconnect. So a good leader helps their team to see the benefit added aspects of the business for the PSA. Perhaps their is a life event that is interfering with the focus of your PSA. Empathize and communicate your concerns. Your journey may help the both of you to understand if this business is a good fit for that PSA or not. Then if not, it's ok. But if you help your PSA to understand the value then you will likely to gain another EA2. Always let your team know that you support their decision to act or move on.
