The best way to successfully advertise on Facebook and other social sites is not to advertise directly at your audience.
Be Social.
Post items of interest, personal news, good thoughts, ideas, things that are happening to you or around you.
Share your experiences, thoughts, etc.
Post good deals you have found (TripleClicks for example) or ??
Post scenic or other great photos and videos.
Use your imagination.

Then, every few posts, at the end, leave a link.

(use URL shorteners or very concise brief actual links)

The idea is not to sell. Become a part of the community you are developing
and just drop a link now and then.
