The intention of both is to promote and advertise SFI. As such to get the maximum i would advise the use of both. Blogging has become an integral part of most of today's generation who love to share so it can be used to attract to the young to the most.
One should make his blog interesting to be able to find followers.
A regular hosted website on the other hand would ensure that the blog gets its due viewer base. I had a personal experience in which my blog reached only a few and i ended up discontinuing the same.
Further such link ups would enhance the trust in the viewers of the authenticity of the blog and website and finally it will allow you to reach the desired number of viewers and get your share of the reward of the hard work you put in.
