Successful SFI business development does require a set of personal and technical skills to fully take advantage of as many income streams as possible and use effectively as many business building tools. I personally make it a goal to be fully proficient in as many areas of knowledge of SFI as I can

I strive to learn new skills every day and get fully familial with a set of tools available here. I value that constant learning mode, and motivate my team members to be students of SFI business development. One of the reasons I prize this mentality is the ever expanding SFI resources, income streams and features. As SFI continues to innovate (the growing Uber Picks games are an excellent illustration of this), we will be well advised to match that pace of innovation with unrelenting eagerness for learning.

However, we cannot humanely and realistically hope to be a master of all skills. There will be some where we excel and others where we will remain average.

If we lack any technical and tangible skills (how to do an odd task) we can compensate the gap with effective communication: the ability to motivate people who have those technical skills.With that effective communication and that ability to motivate, we can find experts in any field to help us, as long as we make it worthwhile for them. In the corporate world, technical managers can rise to high levels of responsibility when they prove themselves to be good communicators, motivators and excellent leaders

However, if we do not communicate effectively, regardless of any technical skills we may have, we will never perform to the optimum of our potential. To build a team of active and productive affiliates, those same communication skills are a requirement.

Effective communications are the skills I emphasize to my downline. It is important to know how to get the message across and enjoy the intended results. It is important to do it while building friendship and positive business relationship with our entourage.

It is our communication skills that will allow us to successfully interact with our team members (to motive them to succeed). to contact technical support for resolving issues we may face, to exchange information and share tips with our peers at the forum or through a2a.

It is our communication skills that will make the difference between success and failure in our advertising, marketing, sales, and sponsoring efforts.

It is also our communications skills that will help us avoid conflicts or resolve them quickly before they get out of hand.

I feel that most people shy away and feel that it is not in their nature or they do not have the ability to market a product or service but you will be amazed to note that this is not entirely a true perception. We all have some in-built qualities that has not been nurtured or developed and this is why we feel we cannot market.

I speak from experience because I was always under the impression that I would never be able to market or convince someone to see how good my products were. It is all in your hands. This is why it is difficult to teach someone what they already have in them but here are a few tips.

1. Learn your product(s) and/or services that you are marketing well. Know everything you have to know because this will increase your confidence when you talk about your product (SFI or any other product on TripleClicks).

2. Do not be afraid of rejections from people, this happens all the time. Do not take it personally. The customer has the right of choice and if you market with a positive attitude, you will see opportunities more than rejections.

3. Usually point out the benefits to your customers - this way you focus on the customer's needs and not on the fact that you would like to sell a product or close a deal.

4. Do not judge people, the person you least expect to join your team will probably turn out to be the most active. Therefore do not leave certain segments out of your reach.

5. There are many points I could put up but this one is the most important. Your communications online with your prospects must be flawless - this is how you will be judged and the organisation of which you are a part of. Pay attention to your language online, it is very important to portray a professional image at all times.

Set-and-forget (or passive) advertising is brilliant.

If your downline members have their own high traffic blog, they can place SFI and TripleClicks ad banners on their blog, and that's it! Due to the high traffic the ads will be seen and clicked by many, freeing up time for spending on other aspects of SFI.

Thus, I believe that one of the most valuable marketing skills that you should teach your downline is how to get a lot of traffic to their blog, in particular through on-site SEO (Search Engine Optimization). If a site has had good on-site SEO applied to it, traffic to the site is also passive. Not much or even no other marketing of the site would need to be done. While a lot of work would need to be done initially, ultimately both time and money can be saved.

Ahead of teaching your downline how to generate traffic to their site through on-site SEO, you may also need to teach your downline how to register their own domain, get hosting, and install a CMS (Content Management System) like WordPress.

I can think of dozens of valuable marketing skills, but here are the most important ones within SFI:

* Clear communication: In order to target a market, you need to be able to elicit your audience's values in order to attract them. Also, if you're training your downline to recruit *their* downline, this is also vital because they're going to be passing down your training on marketing skills to them.

* Niche development: Most of doing business on the internet revolves around concentrating on one particular market because that's what search engines and social networking handles well. That means knowing the products available in that niche and what about those products appeal to the target market.

* Targeting the niche market: You have to know where your customers look for their related information--if you're selling bait to fishermen, for example, you have to contact the fishermen where they go to shop or to learn about fishing.

Of course, your downline will need to know more than just marketing. They need to understand promotion, copy-writing, and a whole host of other important skills. You also need to comprehend how your downline affiliates think, and know how to phrase all of it for easiest study and practice... but that's all part of another question.

I would consider three valuable marketing skills to be considered.

1. First and most important is Persistence/Perseverance. You should accept that you invested $100 in order to get 100 PSA and none of them is interested to become a Fast Track Member. And none of them is ready to become an EA even after one month of reading SFI articles. You should continue in spite of lack of results. "Never give up" attitude is popular on this forum.

2. Second is Communication. And this is linked with your ability to make Duplication. When you can communicate with your affiliates and they are listening to you and they are copying you then you are successful in Duplication. And finding the right words, the right time to communicate and to be convincing is an art and a valuable skill.

3. On the third place I would consider the Technical skills. Affiliates should be aware of building a blog, writing an article, publishing a banner, attracting traffic on the blog, managing a list of affiliates and many other technical skills. You should take your time and introduce them one by one. More Technical skills in online marketing you get, less money you will spend on marketing activities and most effective you will become. It will take some time.

In my opinion and what I do is to support my team. I wouldn't use the word "teach", but "share". I share those marketing skills with my downline:
* Honesty - people should be shown sincere concern
* Promoting products people need - that happens when you know enough for the person's lifetime and standard of living, also his/her dreams and goals.
* Communication with heart,not with mind - people want to feel they're treasured and interesting for others
* Simplicity - simple presentation or words are great power
* Organizing time - schedule for everything in my team member's lives is important for them to be balances
* Realistic - people should b realistic about their strengths and things that they can achieve. They should be bearable for them, so they can manage well with new situations.
* Flexibility - the mind should be flexible and the people should not think only they have right. They should know how to see through the others person's eyes.
* Authenticity - person should be authentic in order to find the right team.

I think the most valuable marketing skills you can teach your down-line are the ones that have already brought you success. After all, the goal is duplication.

If you are not yet enjoying the type of success you would like, then I would suggest you learn about these;

- Identifying a target market that you can relate to.
- Identifying a need that target market has, that you feel comfortable talking about.
- Searching for a product or service within TripleClicks that meets that need.
- Developing a strategy to promote that product to those people in places where they are likely to see your ad.
- Implementing that strategy persistently.

Once you start having some success, share that with your down-line. Then (and only then) are you really ready to teach them to duplicate your actions.

There are so many valuable marketing skills that you should teach your downline.

Duplication is the main one as we all need to build our team to be successful. Teach them about promoting TripleClicks products, wave3 etc.

Also teach them the importance of communication. Through regular communication and keeping a record of their activities they will be able to monitor their progress.
