CEO or VIP of large national companies are usually not easily assessable. To approach them to become ECA will involve the combination of methods. These are:

1. Mailing- Writing a professional and brief email or letter to such person is a good starting point. The content of the mail should be to introduce oneself, give a short story of ones mission and request for an appointment for proper understanding of the mission.

2. Telemarketing- If there's a positive reply to the mail above, it's essential to place a call of acknowledgement and ascertain the appointment. This call should be brief and professional. If there's no positive respond, the call can still be placed to make emphasis on the objective as well as request for a meeting.

3. Door-To-Door- A positive respond from above makes this stage easy because your task now is to convince the CEO or VIP and give answers to questions raised. Be prepare also to outline the ECA program Terms and Conditions. But if the response has been negative, your presence might call for a change of mind from the CEO or VIP to listen. Make good use of such opportunity. Always remember to be professional in all you do.

I think it would be best to watch and know if he is a member of any sports or social club.
Such people are usually more approachable at their social or sports club or a gym. At such places, there usually no holds barred. People tend to let off their guards even if the man has a security detail, there is a limit to how they stop members of his sports or social club from having access to him in the club.
You may have to share a drink or offer to buy him a drink after an activity.
Take up one of the activities he participates in. Show love for the game either by mastering it or getting him to mentor you in it. With time, he will gain your trust.
Do not appear to be stalking him though. Do not be in a hurry. One day, the opportunity will arise. Do not be surprised if he is the one that asks the question that will lead to you inviting him to be an ECA.

I don't think that you should do this, beyond the fact that it is difficult to reach such persons, even if you work for the company. (VIPs/CEOs/Owners like Gery are very rare, we are lucky.) We want TripleClicks/SFI to become a large, (inter)national company.

You always run the risk that a large company would try to take over.

It would be better to find people that have unique items, like craftspeople. I plan to try this later in the year, when we have a crafts fair in our city.

Hi Marlene,
Zasada large companies to be put aside, our ECA shops do not have the capacity to cover the needs of large companies.
It should focus on small and small companies who do not order large quantities of products and who do not have the financial power to buy large quantities of goods and products.
This it is much easier for these smaller companies have much, much more to our needs.

I just would not do it. Place your ads for ECA"s at a variety of places.
If they are interested, they will contact you.

Be sure and mention that everyone does the To Do List daily and they can advertise
on a tab there for one day.

Get biz cards with your picture on it.Order some literature and staple your card on it.

I recently ventured out doing some door to door in this area. Here is how I approached my prospects:

Step 1. I introduce myself as an affiliate marketer with SFI and Tripleclicks and ask if they have time right now to look at an opportunity for getting more sales. 95% agreed to listen so I quickly moved to step 2.

Step 2. I briefly explain SFI and Tripleclicks and the relationship between the two all while plugging in what's in it for them. Then came the questions.

Step 3. Because I purposely used a brief elevator pitch type explanation of the ECA program it opens up a lot of questions so I made sure I was prepared with my fliers and brochure which I now hand to the prospect along with my contact details.

I then continue the conversation with my favorite prospecting question "how many times have you had a customer that you wish would come shopping at your store again?" (Almost every business owner/ operator can relate to that) and go on to give more details about the benefits of the ECA program.

That's what I did and got my first ECA!

Important Tips
The more interested prospects will whirl a host of questions at you, question like "where is your head office located?" and "what do you get for referring me?"

I tell my prospects that Tripleclicks will pay me for referring them, they don't pay anything unless we get them sales.
