As the old saying goes: “Cut your coat according to your shirt”. The choice of which method to employ is very much dependent on how much money one has at their disposal. Free advertising is good in so far as anyone can participate. The only downside to it is that soon on later one’s advert could get flagged as spam. On the whole it works and is ideal for newcomers with little or no money to invest on advertising.
Paid advertising involves spending money. They are targeted to specific audiences and tend to yield results almost immediately.

If one does not have funds use free media. Overtime however, migrate to paid. You could also try a combination of both.
