This question comes in time for me as I’m planning to start my ECA referral. Some traditional businesses might still be reluctant to establish their presence online.

Where to start?

I have my favorite local stores for buying goods and services. Since, I’m a regular customer, I will hand an ECA Brochure to store manager or if the store manager is not available, I’ll hand the brochure to the check-out clerk/store employee. Ask her/him to deliver it to the owner on my behalf. I’ll request her/him to mention to the owner that I’m a regular customer. I’ll include my business card just in case; they’ll need to ask more information.

Approaching a business prospect, which is skeptical or lack the trust of putting his business online may not be easy at first. You can go back to your starting point in your ECA referral. A first contact should have been made, like purchasing a product/service, before planning to schedule an appointment with the owner/store manager. Before the meeting appointment, prepare yourself in “high level confrontations”. Don’t forget to bring your business card, ECA Brochure and cover letter, printed on TripleClicks Letterhead. Place them all inside a TripleClicks Enverlope to be handed at the end of the meeting. During the conversation, you can show your TripleClicks transactions in form of receipts. It is a good idea to print your TripleClicks receipt every time you order and place it in a binder.

Don’t forget to thank the owner/store manager at the end of the meeting by saying like this: “I appreciate your time and hope that TripleClicks can become a successful new outlet for your business soon.”

You have pointed out one of the perfect question. Yes I understand that people at many places still do not trust online business and hence, do not like to be a part of. But trust me friend, ECA is one of the exceptional among these. Just let me tell you how can you convince them in some ways.

1. Lead by example: people love following which is already done successfully by others. So before telling them to be an ECA, just open your own store and start selling products. You do not have products? nothing to worry. Just take some products from them and sell it through TripleClicks. Once, they see that its easy and effective, they will jump into it.

2. Please take a print of complete ECAs list from your country and show it to them. Make them realize that they are not the first one to start ECA with TripleClicks, there already many who are selling from the same country and making money.

3. Explain them the benefit of no advertising when they list in TriplClicks. Just show them the potential of making sale when their product comes in front of millions of people.

4. Do not forget give them example like Amazon and Ebay which are big companies but sale is only online.

It must work for you, as ECA membership if completely FREE.

This is a tricky question. First find out why they don't trust online businesses.

1) Ask:

- What have they tried so far?

- Have they lost a lot of money and time?

2) Agree:

There are a lot of "so called opportunities" that just don't work and don't pay them what they promise. They cost money to join and some even charge a monthly fee to continue, upgrade, and so on. It never ends. You keep dishing out money and feel like you've been duped.

3) Tell:

The ECA program is just one of many programs offered at SFI and TripleClicks. The TripleClicks Store is international and similar to Amazon. All it costs is 1 TCredit, which can be purchased for as low as 29 cents each. They don't have to be concerned with taking orders and collecting money. TripleClicks handles all of that. You will find people that don't trust online business no matter where you live.

If you get wave 3, you'll have several offline marketing methods that work to attract these types of people. Just hand them a business card. Or pass out flyers or put the bumper sticker on your car. There are so many ways that you can use the business tools that SFI already has in place. The telephone works as well. And there are even some phone scripts you can use.

The best thing I've found is just to go to a small mom and pop thrift store and ask the manager if they have a website. If the answer is no, ask if they would like one where they control what gets sold where they can sell off some of the items that aren't selling in the shop. Most will jump at the chance to do this, especially if you tell them that they only pay a small fee AFTER the sale.

Make sure you give them an ECA flyer or a link to your ECA gateway.

Call them up about a week later and see if they've had a chance to visit. Let them know you didn't forget about them and you're truly interested in helping them succeed.

If possible visit them again and bring a printout of an ECA page you like so they can see the site.

This should get them excited enough to sign up.

3. IMPORTANT: In the areas where on-line business are not yet trusted and popular, it is a matter of time when that day will come. Sooner or later, that day will come. And if they accept the challenge, they can be pioneers in this field, provide secure income for their families. In my view, distrust is built-in into many prospects, whether they are your target ECAs or just affiliates or target members of tripleclicks. There are many scams pertaining to online businesses, you know. As such their distrust is understandable.

How to erase this distrust? That is a major problem, to which there aren't any easy or quick solutions.

One thing you have to do is to explain the facts about SFI's online business, particularly, how genuine everything is about tripleclicks: its Affiliate program, its ECA program, its pricebenders auctions and so on. You can show your own performance/ benefit that you had at SFI. You can narrate SFI's history, if that helps.

Another thing you can do is to cite examples of other ECAs (preferably those in the vicinity), whose association with SFI is long-standing and performance commendable. You can ask your prospects to verify the facts for themselves.

Although my experience in this area is extremely limited, I think, yet another way to convince the doubting Thomases is by actually taking a product that you have got from tripleclicks at a fraction of its original price through one of the auctions.

The bottomline is to establish the genuineness of this great online business, which is possible through your own sincere efforts towards convincing them that they would indeed benefit, if they enrolled as ECAs.

There are two types of people who may not have trust in online business; those already in and those not already in. So it will be necessary to look around yourself and further from yourself when you want to attract ECAs.
They say charity begins at home so look within your downline if you have one because with the benefit of hindsight, I have discovered that some are not aware that they can list their unwanted stuff for cash and also if they have a physical store, they can register as an ECA. I often include these opportunities in my weekly newsletters and I was amazed that a large proportion of them are not aware. As a consequence, I have some as ECA's and more are willing to join.

You may also need to employ some of TripleClicks ECA referral items like envelopes and letter headed sheets to make your promotion more professional, convincing and attractive. Peruse the Yellow Pages or the equivalent for small businesses around your area then contact them either by phone or by post but be knowledgeable about the programme because some will definitely request for more information. Do not ignore the main street in your locality and businesses where you are a customer because they are kind of your warm market too; familiarity if you know what I mean.

At a point you may need to physically visit these targets where it is practicable to do so and remember you have to be professional both in appearance and attitude. Let them know they have nothing to lose if they register their businesses but be frank in your conversation especially in the aspect of the 15% of sales price SFI retains and explain why.

It is not easy though as some prospects may be sceptical or may not have the time to process shipping. This is where you come in; let them know there are other available options for collection eg Will Call option etc. For the sceptics be ready to physically demonstrate the successes of some ECA's e.g testimonials in forum post and others.

Please try as much as possible to approach them when they are less busy and in the mood to grant you attention.

In my own opinion, I will look at this as a problem, identify the cause and provide solution.

One of the best methods to me will be to build the peoples’ trust first. Find out the reason why they do not trust online businesses. Where they have misconceptions about online business, I will try to change their conception and where the problem is misunderstanding, I will provide adequate explanations and clarifications.

I will offer my potential ECA referral assistance by clarifying any issue(s) he/she may have and educate them on the potentials and inherent benefits of an online business as being ECA with TripleClicks.

Then after I have educated and cleared all their doubts and misconception, it’s now time to introduce my ECA program with TripleClicks and outline the benefits they stand to gain by plugging their businesses to the power of TripleClicks and SFI global reach.

Many don't trust the internet because they don't understand how it works for good. So to answer your question the best way to overcome ignorance is with knowledge. Sometimes knowledge is gained by experience and other times it can be learned from mere observation.

You can always use the marketing resources provided at TripleClicks. But if the person is not receptive to such marketing aides then you must allow space for them to learn how having an ECA store on TripleClicks can explode their business. So you must gauge when the when the timing is right by observing verbal and nonverbal cues given by your prospect.

This said you can determine if your prospect is ready to take the next step to grow their customer base. For example you may ask, would you be interested in expanding the reach of your product offerings? Or you may ask do you have access to customers beyond your local market? There are a million and one questions you could ask but you need to ask open ending questions and discern when it is the right time to give an e-card or a flyer.

Always thank the prospect for their time and give them at least 3 gift cards and tell them that you appreciate them listening to you as you give them gift cards from your store. Tell them they can use them or give them to a close friend. Then leave. If they have questions they will contact you and if not don't worry about it. Keep prospecting!

I think the best way is to first approach the small business owners who want to increase their business on a bigger platform. Ask them they are selling their products online or not. Then you can provide your opinion that you would be delighted if you could sit at home and purchase their products and when they seem to value their opinion you can approach with the ECA program.

Tell them the great potential of having a own online store and offering their products nationally or internationally instead of selling their product at a small place or town within a limited customers.

If you can show them the potential and the big earning and prosperity with no risk involved then obviously there will be more business owners interested to open up a ECA.
