When sponsoring affiliates into a “free” to join Marketing Company you are going to enroll a lot of people who just wanted to check things out, or they were not interested in building a business at all because they were paid by another site to sign up in “free” to join companies.

The best way to motivate your “inactive” affiliates is to lead by example and also send weekly mails with up-lifting messages – good training content and exciting messages about other affiliates achieving new ranks or winning prizes in the TripleClicks games.

If you are persistent with positive up-lifting and exciting team mails and posting in the stream it is possible that some of your inactive affiliates will wake up and grab the bull by the horn and become active.

One of the greatest hindrances to awaking your inactive affiliates is to have a mind-set that they are “unmotivated and or lazy.” This is unprofessional thinking and it will leak out in your messages and team mails. We speak (or write) what is in our hearts and that can be picked up on by your “inactive” affiliates.

Stop and think for a minute – when your question is placed on the ASK SC platform and is presented to all the affiliates in SFI they will see your name as the one who asked this question. Now, what do you think will happen when one of your “inactive” down-line affiliates reads your question?

Always be professional with all your messages, posts, and questions – We never know why an affiliate may be inactive – we are not wearing their shoes nor are we in the same position (so to speak) as they might be.

Do all you can to be the best “you” that is shown to the affiliates in your team and many will follow and you will have much less “inactive” teammates.

First of all, not all inactive affiliates are lazy or unmotivated. And Not all lazy and unmotivated affiliates are completely inactive. When an affiliate refuses to respond to our communications, it is impossible to know why he is not progressing as expected.

In addition to the regular weekly letters to the team, I will also address those with less than , say, 1000 VP, sometimes less. I break this group into 3 groups, those who have never logged-in and have no VP and those who have VP but have gone inactive, and those who periodically or repeatedly earn less than 1500 VP each month.

The first group consists of those who signed up for other reasons and do not intend to ever take a look. It also includes some who are lazy and unmotivated. And it includes some who do not have the time right now to work SFI but who might later on.

The second group contains some who take a look, do some of the To Do List and decide there is just too much to do. Some of these will not understand what to do, and may not have read the letter from their sponsor telling them that help is near. There are also lazy and unmotivated people in this group. There is also the doubters, both in themselves and in the honesty of SFI.

The third group, though they are more persistent in working SFI, have not seen the big picture yet. And therefore may need more motivation.

The thing is to motivate each group in a slightly different way. The first group probably have not been motivated by much in their whole life. We know that the promise of more money is why they signed up. We must enlarge that idea by explaining the Compensation Plan in ways that will spark their interests. Lazy and unmotivated people do not usually have in goals in life. Challenge them to set one goal and reach it. Then increase the number of goals. Offer incentives that relate to the business.

The second and third group have not seen the big picture, yet. Show it to them. This includes the Comp Plan, but goes beyond that. Talk about duplication and how it affects time leveraging and residual income. Explain what they are and how they will affect his life style. This should motivate them.

The third group needs a motivational boost, also. They are facing difficult times to reach their goals. This is also a good time to discuss ways to come up with money to buy something to make up their difference in VP.

There could be several reasons for them to stay unmotivated. Lazy is probably not the main reason. You must understand that everyone who signed up to be member of SFI, came from many different countries, with many different reasons, with different capabilities and different understanding about network marketing.

You have to do what you have to do, so you can do what you want to do.

1) Lack of understanding on how to run their SFI business
Use your communication skills & methods you have acquired to make them understand what is SFI all about, how to get started, how strong SFI is in terms of no. of years in business, assure them that SFI is a real business and so on.

Now that the BBB accreditation is back, use it to explain to them, how business community views and evaluate SFI as one of the reliable network marketing company in the world.

2) Create trust: Be their friend
Once you open your line of communication, you will be able to gain their trust.
With this, you will be able to extend your hand for help and support. There are many ways and methods provided by SFI, use them and support your team, they way any awesome Sponsor or Co-Sponsors would do.

• Teach them how to use translator if language is the barrier.
• Teach them how to generate VPs for commissions, TC sales for override commissions, ECA their own store for worldwide sales or even free member listing for cash. This to help those with financial limitations to understand that they can still earn, in many ways.
• Make them understand that their Sponsor/Co-Sponsor and Upline Team Leaders are always available for help. Forum is another open platform for out the box information. Encourage them to read and write in Forum.
• Show your gratitude
Show your appreciation for all your workers. Rewards them with things you can afford like Gift Certificate, TCredits. Include them in your Team Co-op for free for achieving e.g EA2 status or TL positions is a great way of saying thank you. Be careful not to over pampered them because you want a Leader in your team.

I can write more but the most important, make them understand that NO one can change their life, it is all up to them. You can only teach, but their ACTIONS will speak louder. On your part, never ever under estimate your sleeping partner, for they may wake up one day and overtake you within days!

As the question implies, how do we motive lazy and unmotivated affiliates?

First and foremost, we need to let them know that its not a get rich scheme as some affiliates feel that if they join, they will make in some hundreds of dollars. Some are not aware of Multi Level Marketing and some are not just interested.

In my experience, what i have done to motivate my lazy affiliates are as follows:-

1. Inform them that its not a get rich scheme.

2. Sending team mails with tips on how to build their SFI business

3. "Time Investment". Inform them that the business should be treated as their personal shop that they need to open everyday. By that, it means the daily logging on to do daily, weekly and monthly tasks

4. Tell them to go through the launch pad lessons and SFI basis. Learning on SFI is lot easier as there are thousands of free materials to read from. Also, ASKSc has been instrumental for learning as well.

5. Also, we should inform them about being committed i.e by ensuring they place a standing order of items they need on a monthly basis where they can get elsewhere on our online shop. Reminding them that they are contributing immensely to tripleclick executive pool.

6. As a sponsor or co sponsor, it is usually advisable to set up a contest in the team. Hard working affiliates are being rewarded with t credits for being EA for the first month and subsequently gift certificate to assist them in their business

7. If they are new affiliates, encourage them to be serious in the E365 competition where they need to stay above the green line to get rewards ranging from mrps, versa points and getting fifty dollars in the finalist draws as well as being E365 champion.

8. Also, i would encourage new affiliates to buy the nmp pack as its available for their first 10 days as a Tripleclicks Member as they would be entitled to 50 t credits, 200mrp, 10 Eager Zebra tokens, as well as 30 free entries in the Tripleclicks Daily Crown drawing.

9. Also, as a sponsor i would assist my affiliates by helping them with places where they can advertise to get PSAs.

10. Encourage them to play EZ games as well as bidding on auctions to get PSAs and CSAs

11. Inform PSA to refer friends, family members to tripleclicks.

Once a purchase has been made, a commission is received by the referral. Once they have recruited and have an active downline,i believe they would be active and teach their downlines the act of Duplication.

There are 3 main types of laziness; intellectual/metal, physical and spiritual but for the purpose of this discussion the first 2 are pertinent to SFI business. A lazy person is a lazy person, so how do you motivate a lazy person? It is extremely difficult because they are either your colleagues or team members and not your children or employees, so does it mean you have to work their businesses for them? No. Does it mean they have to put their businesses on auto pilot? Not a successful strategy.

However, this does not stop you from trying some suggestions below:

1. Encourage them to work at their own pace because they are the owners of their businesses; no boss, no time constraint and no floor/ceiling on how far they want to go.

2. Offer some incentives/gifts if they achieve certain level of activity or success. However, I may not want to encourage you to reassign your PSAs to a lazy person or include them in your co-op until they flip their lazy attitude.

3. You may encourage them to let you know what they derive pleasure in doing and who knows, they may just say games, so direct them to EZ games as warm up or as alternative platform to commence building their businesses.

4. Try some encouraging quotes:

It may be a lot more easier to motivate the unmotivated and affiliates are not motivated for several reasons and as a sponsor/team leader you may have the benefit of hindsight occasionally to understand the basis of un-motivation, which makes your work easier by applying a pinpoint strategy to address it, otherwise you may consider the suggestions below to motivate unmotivated affiliates:

1. Where possible, develop a simple and easy to understand plan of action on how they can be successful and forward it to them as a guide. This is because some affiliates are discouraged and demotivated when they are overwhelmed.

2. Encourage them to participate in the forum, especially in the My Region/My country forum in order to draw inspiration from successful and motivated affiliated from the same country or geographical location. Here may also be a source of support to resolving issues that are peculiar to their region.

3. In the same vein, you may help them to make a2a friends with serious and motivated affiliates from the same country, who are willing to assist and provide source of motivation. For example’ ‘we are from the same place and with similar circumstances, so if I can why not you.....come on try this, this and that....’

4. Always highlight the importance of reading training materials in order to develop an understanding of what this business is all about and how it works, in order to appreciate and be more prepared for the challenges ahead.

5. Organise contests and offer attractive prizes for winners and communicate them, including the winners of your contests in your team mails and stream posts. Also, inform them of the importance and benefits to be up to speed in the E365 contest and Fast Track where necessary. People are motivated more when they know the benefits they stand to derive from their actions.

6. You may need to provide tips and other helpful contents in your leadership page and encourage these affiliates to also visit your leadership page but make it attractive, worthwhile and keep it updated.

7. It is also a good strategy to recognise and offer gifts to members of your team who achieve certain milestones and ensure you communicate this to specially target these unmotivated affiliates.

8. Again, you may send them some encouraging quotes like the one below:

You will get many different answers to your question, because it involves characteristics which are very common to all, yet complex , as every person has different reasons for being lazy and unmotivated.

I will give it my best shot!

To try to motivate lazy and unmotivated affiliates, you would have to be in their shoes- to understand why they seem to be indifferent to what SFI has to offer and they are not taking action at all since they joined SFI.

You would have to understand that they were actually asking: “What’s in it for me? “What happens if I do the things you’re telling me to do?”

Be upfront, honest and direct in your answer . Perhaps these two things listed below may help you.

1. The Power of Incentives. Use this subtly to make them understand the importance of personal involvement and hard work if they want to make money.

SFI has even given suggestions of the kinds of incentive we can offer- such as free leads, SFI Gift Certificates, TCredits, etc., to encourage affiliates to accumulate VersaPoints and become an Executive Affiliate.

Other incentives such as PSA reassignments, or a share in your personal co-op to help with team building can work wonders to motivate affiliates to start building team.

There may be other incentives you can think of when they reach an important milestone, or have recruited their very first PSA or PRM, make their first sale, or won something from Daily Grand Drawing, Daily Crown, T-Time, KOT, the list is endless. Everyone loves a gift or a praise and recognition. You can then share this wonderful news with the other members of your team through your weekly newsletter and in your Leadership Page.

2. The Power of Performance. Once productive activities have started and the lazy and unmotivated affiliates have taken action and started to see the fruits of their labour and receive their first commission and share in the profits of the TC Executive Pool, they will then start to look ahead because now they can see the Big Picture due to consistency in their performance,

When that happens you will have a team of happy, dedicated, hardworking and successful affiliates!

First, do consider them as a valuable resource. Unless they opt-out, they are on your mailing list. Therefore they remain potential EA2's and team leaders. Include them in your weekly newsletters. For a more personal touch, send an occasional e-card to offer encouragement and offer of support. Or call, if a phone number is available. Some people are not responsive to emails but are more receptive to a phone call. You can also offer incentives for their participation through contests, or simply rewarding individual prizes in certain criteria are met.


However, temper your expectations. Getting unmotivated affiliates engaged is probably a long shot at best. In the end, the affiliate will have to want it for themselves. Some people sign up just to take a look around. Others expected a six figure income overnight without putting in any effort.

So continue to make the effort to reach out to them. But don't exhaust your efforts trying to convert them. There are other people on your team who want to build successful business and are willing to put in the commitment and focus necessary to succeed. Work with the workers!

‘Lazy and unmotivated affiliates’ are people who have signed up to SFI but have then done nothing to build their businesses or who log in infrequently.

You have rightly identified what needs to be done and that is to motivate them.

The reason why they are not active is best known to them but I do believe that the basic cause is the lack of knowledge or appreciation of what SFI is all about.

They need to know about SFI, they need to understand its potential for them. Once they come to know this, once their eyes are ‘open’ to what SFI can do for them they will no longer be ‘lazy’ or ‘unmotivated.’ They will be passionate about SFI, will log in daily and will participate fully in SFI activities. They will be fully active.

Our role therefore as sponsors is to ‘open’ their eyes to SFI. We want to motivate them.
How do we do this?

The simple answer is to make contact with them and tell them about SFI. The secret however is to be consistent and to be patient with them. Regularly contact them. Sure, focus on your workers, they deserve your best, but as long as these unmotivated affiliates have not opt out of SFI, they all have the potential to become fully active members. Contact them regularly. Don’t be put off by their inactivity, by their not responding to your messages. Just keep on sending them messages. I regularly use group mail for these people.

Make the tone of your messages friendly and upbeat whenever possible. Remember you have something to offer them. They are potential beneficiaries and what you have is a free solution, a free means of achieving their financial goals.

I find that sending them testimonials of what other affiliates have said can be helpful.

I also send them a brief overview of the SFI business and I find this seems to work well when combined with the ‘comparison chart.’

Let them know about all the happenings at SFI/TripleClicks – auctions, games etc... Tell them about your winnings, team members winnings, milestones, team competitions, incentives etc..

Just keep on connecting with them. Never give up!

If this not happening, there can be umpteen number of reasons for an affiliate to remain inactive.

We can not call them lazy. There can be genuine reasons like:

1. Joined through sites that offered some money just to " click & join " without any business interest;
2. Lack of family support or discouragement by relatives & friends;
3. Lack of time to focus;
4. Lack of adequate finance;
5. Lack of a PC with internet facility at home;
6. Business pressures

Beyond all these, if you consider some one lazy and unmotivated then, you should remain an awesome Sponsor to ensure they are inspired to be active.

The easiest, fastest and cheapest way, as I would say, is through frequent communication. You can use stream to reach specicial downline member. Through stream, you can motivate them for example sharing motivational quotes.

There's also the PSA mailer and CSA mailer which you can use to send messages. You can use them to motivate your PSAs/CSAs at least once a week

You can also assign them some tcredits and enlighten them how to use the TCredits

Another great way is by sending them ecards with a short motivational message for example by letting them know that you are always there to offer them help in Sfi.

For you to be an awesome sponsor, you should lead by example. If you succeed they will look up to you and they will want to succeed like you.
