The components of a great ad for products depends on what you are marketing and your target audience. The creative should include a quality picture and value added text tied to keywords. There is no hard and fast content but mostly ads should do the following:
1. Capture the attention of the intended prospect.
2. Peak the interest of the prospect by highlighted value that solves the need of the prospect.
3. Offer incentives to sweeten the deal and increase desire in the prospect.
4. Seal the deal with a strong call for immediate action. Most purchases are impulse buys and if the emotion is high within the prospect that is the time to close the deal.
Remember that when doing paid campaigns for products that the gross margin should justify the means. If you run an ad that cost $10 to sell a $5 product then you are negative profit. However if you spend $5 to sell a $10 product then you net $5 dollars. That's a good campaign and you have to power scale accordingly to boost profits.
