I recommend you do the following in order:

1) Use SFI's search function. Try different "key words" and scan the search suggestions that "drop down" until you find something worth clicking to investigate.

2) Use SFI's forum search function. Try and use very specific "key words" to reduce your search time.

3) Use Google search if the question is "not" SFI specific.

4) Ask your direct sponsor for suggestions.

5) Ask members of your upline for suggestions.

For 99% of the questions you'll receive from team members the above 5 strategies are all you need! However, the most effective advice I can give you is that when you answer your team members do so in a way that teaches them what to do to find the answer. Don't just give them answers! Tell them what you did, where you went and how you arrived at the answer. Help your affiliates to become team leaders so they can duplicate the process.

You want your team to be able to relate to you as a person! No matter what part of the world an Affiliate may be from we're all part of the same family. Humans are interdependent on each other and having a good account photo helps you bond with your group.

I would say that a "head shot" with a natural smile is your best option. Black and white or color both work well.

Here's some information I've taken from anther question that I answered. Once you start to produce leads you need a way to know which ads are effective:

IMPORTANT: All steps require you to track the advertising source of each lead. Use Key Code Tracking!

1) Track the "per lead" cost from your advertising. Ad cost divided by total number of leads generated.

2) Track the "per Affiliate" conversion cost from your advertising. Ad cost divided by total number of Affiliates converted from leads.

3) Track the "per EA2" conversion cost of the Affiliates from your advertising. Ad cost divided by total number of EA2s generated from Affiliates.

4) Advanced Metric: Track the EA2 "burn rate" from your advertising. This would be how long each lead stays active as an EA2 or above. This metric can be very important when you determine the demographics (countries and income levels) you want to target with your ads.

5) Determine which leads within your "lead system" overall convert the best to EA2, based on 1 to 4, and then "scale up" what you did to generate and convert those leads.

Hint: Use A/B split testing through every step of the advertising process! When using A/B split testing put 80% of your budget in your best ads and use the other 20% for testing purposes. A/B split testing = Always Be Testing! Google the term when you get a chance...

SFI provides the tools you need to get started with your very own "lead system". However, for advanced Affiliates you may want to graduate to building and owning your own list. The basic steps are still the same except you would capture all leads on your own website and then market SFI directly to each prospect in whatever manner you see fit.

I also happen to have this level of experience so I do have an opinion based on my own results. My first exposure to this type of business was in 1981 when I attended a meeting designed to introduce me to the "business opportunity". Over the years I produced results with the above methods, but I then moved toward advertising and sending out information packets and found that to be considerably more effective. Then came the internet and everything changed! My experience is that internet marketing is more effective than traditional advertising or the methods mentioned above! However, that does not mean that the traditional methods of marketing this type of business are not effective. They are very effective, but I would say that internet marketing is more effective!

With internet marketing you:

1) Have better control over your time. Work when you want!

2) Your business can spread quickly all around the world. This eliminates single points of failure due to natural, economic or political issues. The sun never sets on your business!

3) You can operate your business from any location around the world. I work a lot at local coffee shops.

4) No dress code!

5) Here's the BIG reason why I have found internet marketing to be more effective. Once you learn to setup lead systems you can grow your advertising as much as you want. This is called "scaling up" your advertising and it's VERY powerful. You can then Co-op with your group and gain massive leverage.

I did have success with what I call local based techniques. However, when I discovered mail order marketing I was full-time within a few years. Internet marketing has only made things more effective which means more income, time and location freedom!

Consider "why" you joined SFI:

1) Financial Freedom: be, do or have what you want when you want it!

2) Time Freedom: have the time to be, do or have what you want!

3) Location Freedom: travel, holiday or vacation and be able to be, do or have what you want!

Examples:

1) "Be" an at-home parent.

2) "Do" travel to the locations of your dreams.

3) "Have" the home or car you've always wanted.

The list can go on and on and is only limited by our personal dreams and desires.

Take some time and think through your "why" and then put that "why" in front of you each and everyday. This process is personal as we all have unique values and principals.

The traditional western way of thinking is that you work 40+ years, invest some of your income and then retire financially independent. This method of thinking is a wealth based strategy and the truth is that very few of us are achieving this lofty goal. I would suggest prospects, of all ages, consider income based independence so they can achieve personal freedom sooner than later! The idea is that they would focus on building their own internet business and creating multiple income streams. When their income from multiple sources surpasses what they need to live they can then choose freedom!

The benefit to communicating with someone over 50 is that they'll be VERY aware of their financial status and may be more open to seeing SFI as a long-term solution. Remember that "features tell, but benefits sell". Most of us want Income, Time and Location Freedom in our retirement years. If your prospect is over 50 then they're also looking for those benefits!

Never Discourage A Leader From Taking Action!

You should "guide" your new PSAs, but never try to limit them! Yes, Team Building is the foundation of being a Team Leader. However, there's nothing wrong with exploring every possibility that SFI has to offer from the first day a PSAs signs into their account.

I think it would be more productive to ask "Empowering Questions". The bottomline is that the questions we ask will determine the answers we receive. If we want big results then we must ask big questions. We must ask questions that stretch our minds. The right questions give us the answers we need to succeed so carefully consider those questions.

If you want to become a DTL then ask a DTL what questions they ask themselves! How do they think? What are their strategies? Do they focus on limiting their PSAs? Do they encourage massive action? You want the opinion of someone who's done what you want to do! This is a "rinse and repeat" business so focus on thinking like a proven results driven leader!

If I was starting over today I would achieve PTL my very first month without question! I would use that experience to build my team quickly and effectively! Having watched leaders for 30 years in this industry I can say that "Leaders Get Going".

If we continue to do what we've done we'll continue to get what we've got!

After having done contests for over 25 years I would recommend offering items, such as leads, that result in the growth of your Affiliates business. This would allow you focus on those Affiliates who are actually building a business. Also, your hard earned marketing funds would "always" be producing results. Do NOT simply give "stuff" away that has no residual income producing benefit to your business. Google and spend some time studying the 80/20 rule and then focus on your 20%.

The #1 benefit would be the proactive information contained within the IAHBE. Our success is based on asking empowering questions and acting upon the answers. The IAHBE is loaded with answers to your success seeking questions! I would personally credit reaching the PTL level and earning a full-time income with this process. Use IAHBE as success resource!

Keep it simple!

For the sake of duplication your new PSAs should be going through SFI's training system knowing that you're there to assist when needed. If you want Income, Time and Location Freedom then let the SFI system do it's job!

I would encourage you to write your own "Welcome" message. Feel free to use SFI's recommended welcome as a guideline, but the words should come from your heart. Remember, the confused mind says no. Keep it simple!
