- Learn from your Sponsor/Upline

Stay connected to your Sponsor/Upline particularly in regards to their activities. A good Sponsor/Upline maintain his/her top performance in regards to their activities which promote growth in their organization. He/she would want to pass on his/her leadership skills by providing full training and support and if need be offer one-on-one support for customized solutions in helping members of his/her groups which require more time.

Be attentive to their group support messages and try to ask questions in topics that are particularly important to you especially in acquiring skills necessary for becoming a good Team Leader. If your Sponsor/Co-Sponsor/Upline are inactive, go to the next step.

- Associate yourself closely with successful Team Leaders.

Whatever entrepreneurial literature you read, just make sure you are reading it on an on-demand, as-needed basis, not simply because the cool kids seem to be reading it. You need be focus in your goal of learning how to become a good Team Leader.

If you’re a Team Leader/Sponsor one of your most important responsibilities is making your team members feel truly valued and part of something special, letting them know that without them, your SFI organization, your network—and frankly, you—would go nowhere.

But how do you do that on a regular basis? Here are four simple things that can go a long way:

- A big part of feeling valued occurs when team members are aware that they add something to your organization that no one else can.

To effectively convey this, think about how you approach “everyday conversations” with your team members. When you see them advancing to the next rank, go beyond the basic of sending E-cards congratulations. You can send a strong message of truly valuing someone’s achievement (for example moving up to TL rank and actively sponsoring affiliates) by reassigning active affiliates from your first generation.

I’ve found that even simple, small gestures can go a long way: If I have a team member who’s done something exceptional, I’ll make known to my entire organization about his/her achievements and rewards.

You don’t want to ostracize the rest of your team—and you certainly don’t want to play favorites—so, it’s important to pay attention and actively look for opportunities to reward all the members of your team. One of the biggest challenges Team Leaders face is communication. And yet, communication is also one of the most critical aspects of leadership. Without good communication, Team Leaders can fail to gain commitment from their PSAs, fail to achieve their business goals and fail to develop rapport with their PSAs. In short, they can fail as Team Leaders no matter how good their intentions may be.

As a Team Leader you’ll need to figure out what works best to keep your new PSAs coherent, productive and motivated. You’ll need to put in place best communication strategies with your new PSAs.

How to set up proper communications with your new PSAs?

- In a virtual environment (online), you need to create opportunities for your new PSAs to just “chat” both formally and informally. Some effective options are SFIM, online chat rooms such as Skype, and video conferencing (free on Google+ Hangout). Your new PSAs will have a firsthand in getting to know you. Give them a warm welcome and short introduction about yourself.

- Always set your SFIM chat open. Your new PSAs can leave messages for you. It’s essential to keep this chat alive but not distracting. There’s enough conversation to be able to discuss important issues and to feel like you’re connected as one team, but not so much that it becomes distracting. This can also serve as social connection with your new PSAs.

- Choose the right communication style. Depending on your needs, choose the type of communication that works best for you:

1. Email/Team mail – For quick interactions

2. Chat programs – SFIM, Skype or Google chat are great for quick instant messages and for creating a team chat environment.

3. Phone calls or video chat – Some types of communication should only be handled over the phone. Any kind of emotional issue such as performance problems should be handled over the phone or one on one email support. Video chat would be even better as it gives you more visual cues of what is going on with the other person.

4. Creating a short video – It’s very easy to create a video of yourself on YouTube using your webcam.

- Use screen sharing tools.

There are tools that enable you to share your screen so that your new PSAs can see exactly what you are doing. Skype has screen sharing capability but without any option to control another computer remotely.

Communication takes effort. One of the best ways to answer your questions is by going through your affiliate’s journey with SFI. It is best describe through your affiliate’s itinerary of his/her SFI journey.

Here are the stages of your affiliates’ major struggle/challenges:

1. Upon signing up most affiliates struggle in getting started.

Most people joining network marketing business are first timers in my downline. They come from an environment of being told what to do most of their lives. This is a big part of a challenge – they need to learn to see the big picture of making decision for themselves. When they signed up to SFI, they’re not aware of the concept of being an entrepreneur. There’s a major need for them to learn and understand the concept of becoming a SFI business owner.

To get them started, I send them my welcome letter, containing a short introduction of myself and clear instructions of what they need to focus on to get them established plus the five most important basics identification of owning a SFI business:

- Getting familiar with SFI BASICS and LAUNCHPAD

- Confirming their registration

- Whitelisting [email protected]

- Completing their Affiliate Profile

- Sending their SFI Commitment Message to sponsor and

- Uploading their photos

In my first weekly support message, I’ll do a follow-up about SFI BASICS and LAUNCHPAD to make sure they understand the core foundation of SFI. Furthermore, I would recommend to them the Fast-Track membership to kick-start the growth of their SFI businesses.

2. It’s a big challenge to maintain EA status on the second month of being an affiliate.

The tendency of most affiliates is collecting VPs as much as they can in their first month to earn big commission. They don’t have a clear strategy on how to utilize their Getting Started actions AVPs for more important need as they progress in their journey. They have a misconception of equating more VPs = more commission when they’re just getting started. They’ll get disappointed when they receive their first commission far below their expectation.

To correct this, I’ll direct them to the Scoreboard displaying the “My Earnings” with Compensation Type, Description and Earnings. I’ll make sure that I go through each item such as Direct Commission, TC Executive Pool, Co-Sponsor Commissions, ECA Referral Program, etc. Explaining to them clearly about these important terminologies will clear them up and put them back to the right track.

There are many ways in which an individual affiliate can help SFI have a big year in 2016. Here are steps that an individual affiliate can help in making SFI have a big year in 2016:

- Log in everyday and make sure to make use of each day maximizing on performing all activities that promotes your SFI bussiness.

- Allocate time to widen your knowledge base one topic at a time, making your goal to learn how to use SFI tools and resources extensively.

- Focus in acquiring the necessary marketing skills by going through your Marketing and Training tabs. Don't just read, but rather try applying what you have learned. If you face some challenges in your application, be resourceful you can turn to SFI Forum, Ask SC, Sponsor/Upline, SFI desk, etc.

- Maximize your participation in SFI Forum to brainstorm how each one could contribute to a bigger SFI in 2016 and encourage other affiliates to intensify their level of growth promoting activities with their SFI businesses. Furthermore you should also actively participate in Ask SC, playing EZ games, Pricebender auctions and the new Biz Quiz. For each day that you participate in those activities, you'll promoting both SFI and TripleClicks to become bigger.

- If you're a Team Leader, be sure to take advantage of the Designated Diamond program. Identify five serious PSAs in your team and designate them to become Diamond Team Leaders. You're going to work with them closely towards achieving their ultimate goal of being Diamond Team Leaders. By doing this, you're promoting the growth of your PSAs to the highest possible rank level and thereby making substantial contributions to a bigger SFI in 2016.

- Encourage all your PSAs to take advantage of the Milestone Shares. Set an example to them by going up to the maximum 18 Milestone Shares. To get started, you'll need to explain to them clearly that they need to become EA, maintain their EA status and strive to move up to the TL rank. Logging in daily scoring at least 10 VP (corresponds to 10 Milestone Shares) you and your affiliates will automatically be banking up to 18 Milestone Shares. When a milestone is reached (starting with BTL), all valid shares banked to date are added to monthly commissions as a one-time bonus.

Who wouldn't want an extra one-time bonus commission? This is a great tool for motivating every affiliate to go for the highest possible rank. This is one of the most effective ways of promoting a bigger SFI in 2016.

- Maximize your marketing efforts through actively sponsoring new affiliates and committing to their maximum training and support. When you promote duplication in your downline, you're expanding your organization and helping SFI to become bigger in 2016.
