ECA stores require focus, service, and promotion and entering retail for the first time will require a ton of learning and time to be good at it. You can't just throw up a store before you even know what your product is going to be or how to price it, or what a margin is etc..

I see fellow SFI members make the mistake of trying to turn every PSA into a ECA. The end result is usually the PSA quits both SFI and TripleClicks because they become overwhelmed and don't make any serious money in either of their businesses.

I am an ECA as well as an affiliate but I have over 10 years retail experience including management and currently manufacture most of our products here at home, keeping my cost low and profits tidy.

If I were to have tried to learn affiliate marketing at the same time I learned retail sales I would have struggled with both and most likely failed in both. As it is my time for SFI takes away from my promotion of sales at my ECA Store and my ECA store promotions take Money away from promoting SFI.

A big thing most respondents have missed is that if the PSA is not already in retail they will not get a free store and will have to pay $40 for a ECA License.

SFI started this practice to stem the flow of people becoming ECA because their sponsor said they needed to and then abandoning their stores because they didn't know anything about pricing within the market, factoring cost into your margin to define what is profit, or how to pay themselves first so their business can grow.

Instead of success these inexperienced ECA price too high for the market, make mistakes that cause them to sell items at a loss, or they have issues writing compelling item descriptions that invoke a buy now reaction from the visitor to their store.

Your PSA have enough to worry about being good affiliates and overloading them is bad business. Setting your team up for maximum results requires getting them focused on their Affiliate Marketing Business, not on being both retailer and retail affiliate. 95% of them will not make it in a tough retail market and will resent you for pushing them into something they aren't really that interested in doing.

Getting 10% of the CV on Zero Sales and losing an Active PSA doesn't make sense no matter how you frame it.

I think it is a good idea for affiliates to have an ECA store in TripleClicks, if such affiliate, has a good variety of merchandise, and delivers goods in time, as well as having goods at a good price,this will help TripleClicks, and the ECA shop, as well as the other affiliates that promote the products

If you have your own ECA shop, you have another stream of Income, and you can also apply to be a Local Pay Merchant, and thus help affiliates in your country, as well as make a commission

If you are advertising goods from an ECA shop you connect with, and you make a sell, you get a percentage, of the sell.

You can earn up to 55% of CV, in any sales you generate, if you refer customers to an ECA, with the DC and royalties from ECA combined

The more ECA shops we have the better it is for TripleClicks, to be a presence in Internet, and as a good place to buy goods from, and so increase the shares in the pool, and ultimately we all gain from it.

An ECA store is an added responsibility for an affiliate. The affiliate must maintain his ECA TConnect Page in an up to date and attractive manner. He must be sure that his advertised products are available and not out of stock and, for his own good, that the products are what people want to buy. He must follow all rules related to ECA business and products. He must make delivery in a timely manner, making sure that the items are packaged safely, and he must be able to pay for the postage until he gets reimbursed. And he must communicate with customers in a timely manner.

Failure to be honest or to keep up with TC standards can cost an ECA store owner his ECA license or even his membership in SFI/TC.

In addition, after the initial appearance on the "What's New at TC" list, he is responsible for advertising his store's products.

If a person does become an ECA, he will have many benefits, not the least being the extra income associated with selling his items. Also he will get sales VP and shares in the Executive Pool.

As he advertises his items, they will be picked up by the search engines and listed when someone does a search for them. These people are usually not SFI affiliates, so they may become his PRMs and maybe even sign up to SFI. The heading does give room for that type of invitation.

An ECA has the option to offer pick up at his store, knocking down the cost of shipping. Affiliates who live nearby can take advantage of this, especially in countries outside of the USA. Local economy might also be supplemented if the ECA has a thriving business and hires help.

When an affiliate has his own ECA store, he has gone through the whole process of becoming one and can then be more believable when he tells other merchant and craftsmen in his area about becoming an ECA.

I believe every affiliate should sell something on TripleClicks. It's prime space for an audience that is ready to enjoy consumerism. The demographic of the Tripleclicks domain according to Alexa suggests that most people that visit the site access it from home, are male, and are from india & south africa. This means that those customers are ready to shop TripleClicks because we accept payment for goods and ship to those customer when other major sites and retailers don't.

However, everyone is not meant to be a store owner. It is a grave responsibility and customer service is paramount. TripleClicks is your superstore although having an ECA would sweeten the deal. Never forget that all commissionable products at TripleClicks are tracked by a unique link tied to your affiliate id. You can product a product or another ECA altogether and produce sales. At the end of the day, it's a lot more simple to let someone else handle all of the burden and you can get a piece of the action just by promoting the product or the ECA.

Personally, I think it's a great idea! Why not? If you have the time to take care of the extra business properly and if you have the financial resources involved i.e. for shipping, just two factors to consider, do it.

I have been doing my own art since I was 10. I joined SFI in the summer of 2014. I listed two (2) pieces of art as Member Listings. Sigh, rejected. Handmade = new; the person at TripleClicks Support thought I qualify as an ECA.

When I get my SFI business hours down, I might become an ECA and (I hope) sell my art. My art keeps me busy as well. Right now I am choosing to work in my SFI business. An ECA? Maybe. I need a lot more time.

I admire anyone with goals and ambition. I am a "doer" by nature, I am always busy, and I am a go-getter. I beieve that you should have success when you go for it and you want it badly enough. And if you want to keep it badly enough, you'll do your best. It sounds like a winner to me!

SFI sets us up when we start by giving us several ways by which we can earn an income. We may decide that we want to have our focus on one more than the other, but in the end to open yourself up to have your feet in it all cannot be a bad thing.

With an ECA store you can use it to sell your unwanted items, and have them just locally available and/or perhaps you wanted to try selling something that you used to have only as a hobby and now the option is to make it a legitimate business by exposing it the the world literally!

It does not hurt to have another line of income, who knows it could really take off and it become your main source of income! I say go for it!

Having an ECA store in TripleClicks and being an affiliate with SFI should be encouraged.

The reason I say this is really simple – it is one of the income streams that an affiliate can be earning from.

I personally am an affiliate with SFI and I have an ECA store. I do not find the extra time to run the ECA as a burden because I am retired and can devote as much time as I need.

With TripleClicks handling all the paper work, the currency exchange, and payments. All an ECA owner has to do is fill orders and ship the products.

As far as investing – if an affiliate is having trouble maintaining their rank in SFI then I would say it would not be wise to start an ECA because there will be expenses that are created by having the ECA such as shipping supplies, labels, products and more advertising.

I would even encourage EAs and EA2s to put in ECA stores if they truly have the desire and drive to maintain their SFI affiliate-ship and their ECA store.

Every ECA that is approved by TripleClicks brings more income into the system. When there is more income then the bonus pool has more money for each share. It is a totally winning situation.

Maybe I am wrong but it looks like most of the ECA stores are ran by affiliates in SFI. That tells you it is good for business and good for your personal income to have your down-line putting in ECA – I wonder what happens to your matching VP?

Remember when someone in your up-line or down-line or CSAs puts in a ECA store do what you can to purchase from them it shows your support for what they are doing and you will reap the benefits.

If you go through SFI Basics you will understand there are more ways to earn VPs and income regularly.

One of them is: E-Commerce Associate (ECA).

By referring ECAs to TripleClicks, one can earn upfront VersaPoints and also cash royalties through out life.

We can refer Organizations that sell products to your Gateway. If that is approved to become an ECA, each time the product is getting sold, the referrer will get VP and 10% of the commission value (of the sales.

When their product is listed the first time, you will 100VP too!!

2. When an affiliate creates an ECA of his own it will help him in maximizing the income. How??

He can sell good quality products. He can give reasonable prices for every one including his fellow SFIans. He can provide better and efficient service. This way, he will be controlling all things under the roof of his ECA business.
