'Leaders are not born, they are made' as the saying goes. To be a good leader, he/she needs to start from the bottom of the leadership ladder to experience and build up leadership qualities that conform to the norm of the community and society.

Every PSA starts with affiliate stage. At affiliate stage, PSAs start with getting to know the concept and operating mechanisms of SFI business through reading and understanding the Getting Started, SFI Basics and Launchpad. At this stage, SFI provides free vps to earn up minimum 1500 vps to be EA in the first month. Just by answering the quiz and click the tabs they can earn free vps. Encourage them to buy 1 unit of NMP for Fast Track.

Refer PSAs to Affiliate Homepage and to do the Daily, Weekly, Monthly and intermediate tasks to earn free vps.. Play T-time, Daily Grand and Daily Crown to win free tcredits, CSAs. vps and mrps or other items to help to build their business.

Send them SFI Newsletter, refer them to Forums, participate in ASK SC, send them regular emails through PSA mailer or group mailer to motivate them.

Encourage them to contact upline leaders for assistance.

Build up the team through sponsoring and duplication. Work as a team. Every one is equal partner in the business. Make use of the marketing tools provided by SFI to promote their SFI business.

Recommend Standing Order of 125 tcredits and S-builder towards maintaining EA status and building up a strong team to get active EAs to contribute towards monthly avps to achieve BTL, STL, GTL and PTL.

Be persistent, consistent, determined and focus towards achieving their goals. They can harvest the fruits of their labor through hard work and with the right frame of mind. Reject all negativity thet undermine discouragement and faith in oneself.

TEAM LEADER MUST BE A MENTOR

Good mentoring relationships can be richly rewarding, not only for the person being mentored, but for the mentor too. Mentors can, among other things, provide exceptional learning experiences for their PSAs, in doing so, expand their awareness, insight and perspective.

1. Be credible

The best mentors must have credibility in, and have personally achieved success in, the area where PSAs affiliates looking for support. For this reason, most people will seek the guidance of different mentors to help them develop specific skills or qualities, or to help them reach important decisions. Being credible doesn't mean that you need to have all the answers. The best answers for your mentee will come from their own thinking, with the help of your wisdom to support them.

2. Be a positive role model
Good mentors are respected by their PSAs. A serious PSAs can learn a lot from their leader simply by watching how their leader behaves in any particular situation. Good mentors will also look out for experiences, or even create situations in which affiliates under your supervision can become involved to learn new things, for example, providing a look behind the scenes or a glimpse at how other affiliates live or do things.

3. Be genuinely interested in your PSAs as an individual

A relationship is a very personal one, which is often very important to both sides, so, as a leader, you need to get to know your role personally, about their hopes and dreams, so you can help them in a way that meets their personal best interest. In the same way, a manager is also not the best person to mentor someone on their team, as they'll often have a conflict of interest to contend with, between what's in the best interest of each individual and what's in the best interest of their team.

4. Share your experiences and insights

In doing so, choose stories that you feel are appropriate and helpful, but do so in a neutral way, without any attachment to how your PSAs will use this learning. Be open to sharing your mistakes and failures too, as these are often where our biggest lessons are learned. It will also help your PSAs be aware that challenges will arise, and the way you dealt with the situation might also help them gain insight about how to build resilience.

5. Ask open questions
Asking your PSAs open questions will help you as a leader to identify their real needs, values and passions. It's also a great way to get your PSAs to think through situations themselves and draw out the consequences of the various choices or courses of action they can take. Team Leader must be open suggestions and techniques to your PSAs.

6. Provide a fresh perspective

One of the benefits of working with a leader is that a good leader will often provide their PSAs with a fresh perspective on an issue. A good mentor will often have the clarity of distance from an issue or problem that's needed to provide objective feedback to their PSAs. Giving unwelcome feedback can be detrimental to any mentoring relationship. Instead, explain what you'd like to talk about first and highlight the benefits of doing this.

7. Acknowledge achievements

Highlight for your PSAs any achievements they might have forgotten, to help build their confidence. Remember to celebrate their successes on your mentoring journey too.

8. Offer your advice, but only if your PSAs asks for it

It can be very tempting for a leader to just jump in and offer advice before they actually asked for it, especially when you've dealt with a similar situation yourself. Being a sounding board for your PSAs, allowing them to discuss the situation with you, then helping them to think through the situation by asking them questions to draw out the consequences of various actions, is always more empowering for a mentee than advising them what to do. It helps them work through the issue and come to their own conclusions. By doing so, you ultimately help them to learn to think through issues themselves and trust their own judgement, both valuable life skills.

This requires a two way approach on your part, one that relates to your growth and second that relates to your PSAs growth.

In the first part you should be setting example. You should be a team leader first and do all that an awesome Team Leader should do.
1. You should maintain you rank month on month and look forward to higher rank.
2. You should always remain in pursuit to enhance your Badges list.
3. You should remain active in Eager Zebra games, Price bender auctions, patronizing Tripleclicks.
4. Your overall, country and class positions should be better with each month gone by.
5. Be an active member on Forum and post answers regularly in Ask SC.

In the second part, you do what helps your PSAs directly to grow:
1. Provide continuous guidance and support to your PSAs. Communicate well.
2. Give them the required training as per the stage they are on. SFI rules of success can be an asset in their growth.
3. Discuss growth strategies and help them implement those.
4. Set up a co-op to help them set up a team in their initial phase.
5. Make them realize the importance of duplication and show them the path and the plan.
6. Help them unleash the hidden potential of the compensation plan with their growth in their rank.

I personally try to do these things and the results have changed since I started it. The key to success is your active profile and your active support to the team.

Hi Mary, there are several things you can do to help your PSAs become team leaders:

FIRST THING is CONTINUOUS COMMUNICATION:
1. Sending supportive emails is essential.
2. Carefully select your words to be in form of advice rather than criticizing.
3. Use inclusive words like "we", "our", "all of us" etc. in your email.
4. Appreciate the affiliate's contribution before mentioning what he or she should improve upon (if any).
5. Always share your past experiences in related or similar situation and how you survived it.
6. If using email; let your mail content be formal instead of informal.
7. Lead by example, ensure you have done what you want your PSAs and/or CSAs to do.
8. Hash words should NEVER proceed from your mouth to your team members at any time.
9. Let them know you are willing to help them achieve success as your team members.
10 .Ensure your leadership page and blog are up-to-date;direct them to your blog and Leadership page in every correspondence.

SECOND IS APPLYING SOUND BUSINESS STRATEGIES:
1. Reassign consistent and always active PSAs to help build your team.
2. Check the number of EA PSAs you have before reassignment, if few consider not to reassign.
3. Since an affiliate can be reassigned only once, be convinced of your action; so you don't lose your benefits.
4. Use the WIN-WIN approach; For every affiliate you sponsor this month, I'll match it.
5. Another strategy is to use the reassignment tool as an incentive for your PSAs to achieve success.
6. Organize Team Leaders and put EAs under them. Develop Team Leaders who will be making profit, and therefore tend to remain active.
7. Compensation plan for your PSAs. If they sponsor their first affiliate you reward them with two extra for example.
8. Reward every milestone achieved by your PSAs. e.g become Team Leader, and get two PSAs FREE etc.

THIRD IS TO ENGAGE IN TEAM BUILDING ACTIVITIES:
1. Brainstorm and share tips and ideas with your PSAs.
2. Join in in-depth discussion of SFI News, products, programs etc.
3. Get your own questions answered by others.
4. Have fun with colleagues.
5. Get inspiration on all matters relating to your business.
6. Some time you save time by asking forum members what to do than finding it from the training manual.
7. Make friends from all parts of the world.
8. Get latest development in SFI from members.
9. Get immediate update on new developments and changes in your business.
10. Above all relationship building is paramount in building a total man, get it at the FORUM

FOURTH IS SPECIAL ADVISORY ROLE TO YOUR AFFILIATES THROUGH THE MOVERS TAB:
1. Use the movers tab to help you play direct advisory role on your most active affiliates.
2. It is a veritable tool that takes the problem of page loading off you; use it to your advantage.
3. Use the tab to identify specific view or category of affiliates for critical performance appraisal e.g newest sign ups, currently online etc.
4. Use the tab to access each affiliates details like country and power rank, reassign affiliate from the same country for language coherence.
5. Through the movers tab you can access the VPledger of any active affiliate, and suggest what he/she can do to improve.
6. Know who is active and inactive,use the tab to identify who to motivate for greater effort.
7. Based on VP earned, some of your affiliates may need encouragement; use the movers tab to find out and contact them.
8. Monitor the status of each of your affiliate for appraisal of their performance.
9. It brings into view affiliates that has been off the scene for a long time, so ensure you contact him/her and give word of encouragement.

There was an affiliate in my downline who signed up with SFI and just left. He didn't know what to nor did he know about SFI and i was amazed.

Now, i didn't leave him behind because i wanted him to succeed and know more about SFI, so i got his details through the PSAs mailer. I called him, asked him, what was the problem? His problem was not having a good understanding yet, so i spoke with him about the basics of SFI.

I said it is just four things you need to do. I told him to log in back, taught him, encouraged him, showed him the benefit in working with SFI. I was all with him, directing him step by step on getting started.

I made him to complete his getting started actions in his To Do List. Within time, he began to understand and his learning was faster because i could give him almost all the details he need to succeed in SFI,before i knew it, he was already an EA. This is just how he keeps going up and doing great.

What you have to do to make your PSAs become Team leaders, is to know the problem or the challenges they may be experiencing on SFI and give them detailed information on where to get started and tell them, it is always free and easy.

Send them E-cards from SFI. This will attract them. Always show relevant and needful concern towards them. Make them feel you as their sponsor/ leader. This will go a long way in helping them become team leaders. They want to be know what SFI, truly is, make them know the basic and help them read and explain the Launchpad.

I am teaching them how to earn money by promoting TripleClicks products.

I then teach them how to find PSA of their own by investing those earnings back into their business.

I teach them next to teach their team of PSA Hot to make money on TripleClicks.

That concludes my personal training but here come the tools.

Tools wise I teach them about blogging and niche marketing so they don't spin their wheels advertising with no aim.

I teach them how to use the co-op manager and find quality traffic to generate quality PSA so their team is never short of new prospects. Even if all you can generate is 1PSA each per month you are making progress and building your business.

I continue to drive the thought of content being king and the power being in the list. I show them how to create free reports and tie them into an auto-responder sequence that will help pre-sell people on the SFI opportunity and I show them how to layer content on a range of sources to build link wheels and explode their search engine rankings.

I teach them to stay connected and offer a Facebook Group, Google Plus Group, and Skype Chat to help them grow daily as well as my e-mail address and being online at SFI around the same time each day for a few hours so they can use SFI Chat.

Above all I teach them to give abundantly because what they get in return is worth far more than monetary sums. They will find financial wealth but they will also find peace of mind, friends who can be counted on, and a reputation fit for a king.

Let me say straight away that I do not directly encourage my PSAs to become Team Leaders. Everything I do is simply to encourage them to be good Affiliates first and every other thing else will follow in a natural sequence. Here is what I encourage them to work towards and to use as a guide if they want to be Team Leaders.

1. You must be a good Affiliate first before you can ever become a Team Leader. So become a good affiliate.

2. To be a good Affiliate, you must be active in SFI/TripleClicks. So, get active in SFI/TripleClicks.

3. Without an active downline, becoming a Team Leader has very limited benefits. So, build an active downline.

4. You need at least 5 active PSAs in your downline before you can get good benefits as a Team Leader. So, train your PSAs to be active.

5. The deeper and more active your downline, the better you are as a Team Leader. So, build a deep downline.

6. Granted that you get second-home CSAs as a reward for being a Team Leader but you can also get CSAs some other ways if you are a good and active Affiliate. So, win CSAs at auctions or buy them.

7. It is smart therefore to help your PSAs become very good and active Affiliates if you want them to succeed in SFI as Team Leaders. So, they need hard work to be good.

8. Everything else you do in SFI must therefore be aimed at becoming a good Affiliate. The nitty-gritty is only a matter of details active Affiliates do daily, weekly and monthly.

From the foregoing, it is easy to discern that becoming a very active Affiliate precedes becoming a Team Leader. Helping your PSAs to become very good Affiliates is one sure way to helping them to become Team Leaders. Once you are able to successfully make them good Affiliates, becoming Team Leaders becomes a piece of cake.

I believe you have to first be a good team leader in order to help your PSAs be good team leaders.

So here is what I do, and what I feel are actually the top five things any good team leader should be doing on a consistent basis:

1. Stay in communication, not only with weekly team mails just to earn points, but also by sharing valuable information with them at any time. The information you share with them includes letting them know if you've made a mistake; it shows you're human!

2. Keep your Leadership Page fresh with blog posts that share tips and information.

3. Be open to receive and answer any of their questions.

4. Stay active in the Affiliate Center, especially answering Ask SC questions and participating in the forum. A good way to show forum participation is to earn your Forum Guru badge.

5. Maintain your VP Streak. This shows your team members that you are logging in every day.

I believe that by showing your team members that are you are serious about your business and you're serious about helping them and others, you'll be guiding them and preparing them for being good team leaders themselves.

Transparency in my business practice is how I help my down-line PSA's to promote themselves to Team Leader status.

I have found that transparency in my business habits - expressing what I have found helpful, not helpful, hardship, and success strategies, has helped not only my PSA's to strive to be their best but also helps to develop Trust Dividends in our working relationship in SFI.

I also believe that everyone is a Leader in SFI - no matter status achieved so I have open dialogue with all down line members about products, services and at times conversations which applaud their efforts.

I recognize that everyone has a role in SFI and so I choose to respect the diversity that I have the privilege to work with and express gratitude for the diverse skill sets that are pooled together through the affiliate membership of SFI.

I also attempt to use the tools that are available through SFI to motivate PSA's such as setting up a Co-op Manager, sending out weekly Team Mail messages, direct contact with Team Mailer or e-cards, Forum post/s sharing, & Stream posts to share thoughts of encouragement, links to other resources, and strategies.

Transparency promotes open communication and open mindedness on my part so that I am always present to be focused on what each PSA may require. Being present and focused means I take time on a regular basis to review PSA's goals and read their posts as well so that I learn more about them which then makes me a better support for his or her needs in her business.
