There is a situation in life like this one time or another we feel this way,
In work place or another demote us when we don’t do our job or they
down size the Company to accommodate everyone.
But here is different, there is no demotion, we own our business, we ere
Our own boss, so if we are the boss who is demoting us except we
demoted ourselves, and what is the reason for that demotion and who
will be responsible to blame ?.

This is really where it come down to, a sense of not understanding the
Business, we have to do our business the same way if we were working
For someone else, If we work for someone and miss work for any reason
Except we have permission to do so with pay, we don’t get paid, but why
do we expect to get paid or feel demoted when we don’t run our business
correctly or when we don’t do it at all or when we are short of being successful ?.
So you have to make them understand that they hold their own fate, one can
Help them the best he/she can but can’t do the business for them. They have to
help themselves to fulfill their goals and dreams.

One who has the concept can understand this, but this mostly can happen
For the affiliates haven’t been on the business for long and didn’t get the
Proper training and guide at the beginning and climb the ladder to fast to
Soon , not for all but most, without knowing the system, but the new
rule we have in place starting In January, 2016 will level the field and everyone
will grow accordingly from the start and will be no feeling of Demotions because
that will be the only way to achieve it.

So if they have been active just explain to them not to go the other way
Because rank is not everything without any substantial income and
Active team members.

This is a very timely question. When the changes were announced last month, I was one of the people who were upset because I will lose my ranking of BTL when the changes take place. I have gotten many PSA'S from S-Builder, Bid and Build, etc. but none have lasted longer than a month.
I wondered if it would be better to quit but then I sat down and started to think about the reasons that I joined SFI in the first place. I wanted to find a way to supplement our income. That need hasn't changed. SFI offered the best opportunity to achieve that dream and that hasn't changed either. What needed to change was my attitude. I am willing to work harder to achieve the goals that I have set for myself and my business.
While I was upset about the changes at first, I realized that these changes will actually help me.
With the new Signing Bonus, people have a great incentive to stay with SFI and to start working. Because if this new program works and the new affiliates stay and become successful, that benefits us all. With my attitude change, I am looking forward to a long and successful career. After all we have to aim high and dream big.

It will be of primary importance to acknowledge how the affiliate feels and have he or she identify what happened exactly to feel the "demoted feeling".

Once this has been idenfieifed, then it is now up to the team - you and the affiliate to learn from that experience and identify it as knowing "what not to do" and learn from it so that the same events do not happen again thus the affiliate will experience success and not feel failure again.

Negative feelings will leave affiliates feeling vulnerable and uncomfortable so it is not our place to minimize their feelings nor attempt to ignore the experience and carry on. The affiliate will need to be heard and if this is a weak skill set area for you then delegate to another team leader in your down line who can reach out to help the affiliate during this time of feeling demoted.

A plan is a way for the affiliate to prepare and anticipate what is going to happen next and not wish for nor hope for it to happen but "do" make it happen.

Activity means there is a plan or map to follow and at times we all make a wrong turn and find it leads to a dead end. This can be rectified as the events that lead up to the feeling of being demoted as all it requires is a little forward thinking and some sweat equity work.

We all know that our ranks can go up and down depending on the amount of activity we put in our business..

There are good months and bad months, and something may happen out of the blue that is out of our control.

If an affiliate has been performing so well and has achieved some level of success early on but suddenly has stopped visiting his homepage and not showing any activity which seems out of character, that should ring as an alarm bell.

He may be experiencing some personal problems that affected his productivity resulting in downgrading of his rank, he may indeed feel that he is a failure.

This may cause him to become inactive and neglect attending to his business.
Or worse, he may have been involved in a car accident, just like what happened to my PSA recently. This PSA of mine is a very reliable member and is always in touch and full of enthusiasm, so when he stopped working, I got worried and contacted him to find out.

So contact him by any means the moment he drops off your Movers List and check to see if he is OK.

Let him know you care and explain that whatever is happening is only temporary. He can get up and get going again.

Try to find out what the problem is so you can offer to find a solution and together you can work things out.

With your moral support and guidance he can regain his momentum and regain his lost rank and restore his belief in himself.

This usually happens, while it mostly depends on mind set of affiliate. I have little reasons and resolutions...

1. Firstly it happens when affiliates promote more and gets less or no results.
We have to realize them that promoting SFI for 100 people doesn't make them succeed in this business.
Suggest them that promoting and advertising means getting very few results like 1/1000.
Encourage that if they could get one active affiliate with in 1000. They shall start promoting for 5000 approximately so that if 5 EA2s with HARD work can achieve further ranks.

2. Many a times affiliates just post a ad on non-popular sites, which turn to less or no results.
So promoting SFI with most popular websites does matter

3. Gift Certificates/ Exchange T-Credits / Reassignment also encourage affiliates for short time. But during which we have time to get them trained properly that the business is about not getting rich quickly but SLOW and STEADly.

4. If they are losing games most of the time, it means they are gaining wide knowledge for success. Create positive impact all the time.

5. Affiliates most time demotes by offline promoting, so during which we have to share our experience and try to encourage. .

Most of time demotes is due to lack of proper knowledge, try to encourage and make sure they read ROS Rules OF Success again.

SUCCESS doesn't come without HARD WORK. and the HARD WORK is not what we are doing now, including myself. Still we have lots to do...

Make sure to remember the words "Quitters never Win" . This words are of Positive and realistic which definitely get them out of any demotes.

Do they feel they've been demoted because they did not qualify as EA?

I know and understand that it is very difficult and hard to accept when you suddenly have a green affiliate badge again - after you had your blue EA badge (or in some cases even higher).

You have to try and change the way they look at SFI. Firstly they can not be demoted because they are not working for a boss or a company. In order for one to be demoted you have to have a boss. They work for themselves, they are the boss.

Secondly they need to know that every business goes through good months and through not so good months. If they can see it like that and adjust their goals and tactics accordingly it will become part of the learning curve. Encourage them to learn from it instead of allowing it to drag them down.

Don't make it off as something small and insignificant - because when it happens to you it is a big thing and when somebody brushes you off it is infuriating.

By demoted I presume dropping back from BTL to EA2 or EA2 to just affiliate or something similar for higher ranks.

It is not the end of the game. Look at why you dropped back. Did one or more EA2s fail to perform last month. If you remained in contact with them was that your fault? No.

Did you risk not qualifying by relying on Downline efforts which did not eventuate? That was your fault and you can correct it next time. Never count on others but be grateful when they contribute.

This demotion does not have to be permanent. You and you alone can make it permanent. You and you alone can pick yourself up and rectify whatever it was that caused this demotion. Everyone will suffer setbacks in this or any other business. With SFI you can correct it or start to correct it next month.

Discuss what went wrong and show ways you can help.

Getting demoted is not fatal in SFI unless you make it so. Getting demoted in a job can be fatal for the future. Not in SFI.

First off, I would find out exactly why they feel they have been demoted.

2nd, take a look at their activity IE: VP ledger, profile etc. Take notes from what you see. The next step would to open a good dialogue with them. Suggest improvements they can make. Let them know if they are missing out on actions to collect the VP.

3rd, continue to support them. Let them know that a business is not built overnight. They will have times where they will fail. This is a part of business. How they react to the fails will determine their success. If they fall, help them back up. Success will come to them if they are willing to push forward and improve daily.

An affiliate feeling demoted needs to be encouraged by

1. Acknowledging their present state and emphasis that it is not unusual to feel that way.

2. Inform the affiliate that all SFI affiliates were also "demoted" like him/her, including yourself and Gery, the CEO of SFI.

3. Remind the affiliate that SFI is his/her business. A personal business that is real life business. In real life businesses, there's up and down. He/she should always work to remain up.

4. Inform the affiliate that he/she is not actually demoted but beginning a new month's account on a fresh page because his/her past efforts are still relevant.

5. Show the affiliate the VP ledger and the leadership board to see that his/her pass efforts place him/her on the class and country leaders board positioning.

6. Take the affiliate through the SFI BASICS and SFI Success Tip tutorial. This action will help the affiliate to remember the vision and mission of SFI.

Do the above and more will help your affiliate get out of the emotional state of being demoted.

Please explain how easy it is to move forward with persistent efforts.

Have an open minded discussion - If possible face to face; If affordable, through phone; if not then through a mail to personal mail id. Try to understand the situation; Explain how things with little bit efforts can be sorted out/achieved.

1. If finance was a cause, then support him with possible Gift certificates from your end.

2. Allocate few of your performing affiliates to help him build the team.

3. Transfer TCredits and assist him to use them judiciously that can help him earn VersaPoints.

4. In essence, understand the causes & offer appropriate solutions to tide over the situation &
help him become active again.

On the other hand, if it is "Demotivated affiliate" then

1. Try to establish contact;

2. Know the reasons;

3. Keep guiding continuously;

4. Show your genuine interest in his growth & success;

5. Guide him the ways and means to gather VersaPoints;

6. Do follow up with him on a day to day basis;

7. Where possible, try to meet in person or speak over phone;

8. Know the circumstances & offer suitable tips to move on;

Conclusion:

In essence, please establish contact, try to meet face to face or speak over phone; Understand the reasons for being demotivated, offer appropriate guidance, support him with all your heart, inspire him with incentives and see if it helps; Do a follow up regularly and leave it to him to decide.

If he understands your genuine concern and sincerity for your growth he will become inactive soon. If not, please do not get dejected. Keep working with the workers. As Gery says, "Some will; Some won't; So what? Some one waiting! Next!". Move ahead with this die hard spirit!
