There are many benefits to running contests. It will help both the downline affiliate as well as YOU!

Motivating your team will help them move up in ranks or become better affiliates (depending on your rewards and qualifications for the contest) and will keep them interested in SFI. Maintaining interest can be difficult for some people, so sometimes they need that extra "push."

If you keep them interested and working, especially if they maintain EA status or above, or at least make a significant amount of purchases, you will be rewarded with commission and/or VPs.

I personally love to run contests where the associates must reach a certain rank. It keeps many of my team members motivated and will be a great payoff for EVERYONE in the end! Best wishes.

A properly organized contest can focus the team’s energy where the leader thinks improvement is needed. Every month a new area can be picked for developing. It doesn’t have to be only about sponsoring, or selling products. Have a contest for everybody to start their blog about online marketing. Make one of the conditions to qualify that they have to have a certain amount of blog entries for the month.

The biggest benefit of contests is that if they are carefully crafted they will duplicate your efforts. Instead of only one blog working for you, there could be ten or twenty blogs. Look at the total package when designing a contest and ask some questions. What would happen if your team duplicated the contest in their down-lines? What is the long range impact of the contest? What is the short range impact? How can I measure the effectiveness of the contest? Contests make you think about your business and how to make it better.

There are a lot of benefits of organising a contest for your downlines. But the most important is how to get them to participate in those contests. Sometimes they are not even aware that a contest is on-going. Hence you as a Leader, should be proactive is promoting those contests.

I have had contests to try and get my downlines to be active. For example, TCredits for reaching EA. Or Reassignments for reaching EA. Or USD 2 for reaching EA. But none do. I have concluded that they are not aware of the contests perhaps.

Hence it is not just the contest itself that is important. You need to ensure that your downlines are aware of the contest.

I think the benefits of organizing a contest for your Down-line would be as follows

1) Gives them the chance to win prizes, points, memberships, etc
2) Great way to reward your down-line team
3) Shows them you care about their success
4) Allows you to be in contact with your members in a giving way
5) As well as gives them an idea for having one for their own business, in other words it is displaying duplication, its working for your Leader so why not do it yourself

I believe one of the greatest things you can do is introduce an opportunity for a challenge. Every person, I believe, wants a reason to be challenged. The contests simply provide a chance for people to see a goal; to see a desired destination and go after it - with a prize to follow.

I believe that friendly competition breeds excitement and purpose. When people are involved in a level of competition, they all of a sudden have a special portion of purpose - to get to the desired destination.

And I was interested in this marketing move our sponsors and cosponzora. But as soon as I got involved in this contest, I realized how important is the idea.
Firstly, we all like some kind of competition. And this is where the competition for sure and get it in several ways. You get a bigger affiliate of points if you're trying to reach a goal that is given from sponsor, prize contest, get status, a sponsor who organized the competition gets active member, bonus points if you can reach the status and several members of the depths, who also raise the status of but become permanent and certain members.
Secondly, with little involvement other than money which is obtained from the sponsor, it is important that we become stronger, more valuable and motivated.
Thirdly, themselves, thus learning another great marketing move, which in fact proving the Latin proverb: Do ut des - Give to get!
So competition is good for the sponsors and for the affiliate! So now, we're going to win :)
