Sharon Early and Dear all,

Down line is a team of different people, men, women, different culture, different country, and different languages as a medium of communications. This variation in the team is what makes the task more challenging.

Though communication is the only method that is available to us for managing the teams we should use it in all possible ways.

Based on this I would say, you as a leader can lead and manage your team by following different possible ways.

1. Lead and manage by instructions, tips, and guidance. :
This method will be useful particularly in cases when your affiliates are new and they need lot of inputs to first clear of the confusion they have in their mind about SFI and how to perform important actions on regular basis.

2. Lead and Manage by example :
When the New affiliates comes of his age meaning when he became EA followed by EA2 then the only method that will prove to be effective is to set self-example before him as a leader and guide him to follow in our own shoes. Meaning whatever you expect him to do first you should do it and then let him follow.

3. The third method :
Is to manage by motivation, recognition, and appreciation when he succeeds in doing steps you set before him as an example.

4. The fourth method :
Is to manage and lead all active, either PSA or CSA by setting benchmark goals for them and if possible running recognition awards and keeping your commitment in actually passing these recognition and rewards to the performers.

The communication is key in all above methods, and even more than communication seeing action goes through is more important as “Actions speaks louder than words.”

On Personalized attention since each one of us has sponsor, that way if every sponsor takes care of his PSA in a manner as explained above it will give each sponsor a enough space and time to provide personal attention which will go on reducing as active PSA learn the trade and will slowly established a grip over the teams activity under them.

"How do you manage a large active downline"?

I have a personal rule her: DO NOT SPONSOR TOO MUCH AFFILIATES AT ONE TIME!

Why? When affiliates just join, they need your "hands on attention" to guide them through their training. Once the get in the second and thirt month, they will need you again, because they are "dead in the water" if they do not have a downline by this time or any money to invest.

By month 4, they are out of your hands, an except for Team messages and answering their questions (if any), they are on their own.

Further to this: When your Team get too large, reassign some of your new members to your top movers in the same country. (E.g: If you have a PSA in Italy that are doing very well, and you can not speak Italian... rather reassingn new PSA's from Italy to that specific PSA).

This is a good way of sponsoring, and you will give the new Affiliate a much better opportunity to be successful.

I've got several instant messaging apps on my computer as well as I like to send each PSA an ecard every week.
In the ecard I like to add a few encouraging remarks and tips to remain successful with SFI.
I also prefer to keep it short for those with shorter attention spans and it's easier to get someone's attention with a few well placed words than with long winded epistles.
I care about my team and would like to help them become more successful, but according to their actions they don't want to so I'm going to do what one of my A2A friends does. They don't quit. They pray, persevere, and pray some more. It's the normal slow and steady growth,but it's better that way with being able to give each affiliate what they need to help them grow with their business. That's why I prefer using bid and build with TCredits instead of using the PSA's to go pack. I love the SBuilder, but right now I need to watch my pennies. When the 'dam' breaks my friend, it breaks and it will flood for awhile; you'll get used to it, and you'll move on. In the end it will be worth it all!!!

1. You are not responsible for those below your first level (front line PSAs).

2. You work with (the workers) your active PSAs on your first level and your CSAs.

3. You teach them how to grow and lead their active teams. If you are leading as an awesome sponsor your active team will follow your lead and example.

4. The active PSAs in Levels 6 - 12 have the option of contacting you and following you in the Forum.

5. If your front line PSAs are maintaining EA2 with Fast Track or a Team Leader then you should setup a Co-op and offer them FREE participation so long as they maintain a specified level of status. If not remove them until they come back.

6. Sources of communication are seemingly endless in this information age. We have several option to keep the lines of communication open within SFI and outside SFI.

7. If you have done an excellent job training and leading your front line PSAs it then becomes their responsibility to follow suite right on down the line. I will call it "the power of duplication in action."

8. Keep it simple and don't make things more complicated than it is. This is a real business with real people that requires real action from you to make it happen.

Managing a large, active downline is a huge work for any team leader. But SFI has already provided an easy escape route via the Team mailing system. A mail is sent through SFI via the Genealogy tool, all downline will receive this mail uninterrupted.

Responses from such mails can enable the leader to estimate the urgent needs of the downline and their needed support or assistance. Special needs will then be fashioned out for the needy.

Forstruggling affiliattes, of which such cases arise when some affiliates are seen to be 'not performing' creditably, help is provided on one-on-one basis, to assist them come up and out of the doldrums.

On such situations, close supervision and advice is needed to keep the struggling affiliates on their feet and run. This program can be done also by sending e-mail to such affected affiliates. Meanwhile the rest are kept busy via the team mails sent at least once a week.

When the struggling ones respond accordingly and start performing, rewards are provided in the form of TCredita or Gift cards; to encourage them move ahead. Such rewards can introduce them to Pricebender auction or any of the games at TripleClicks.

Such treatments keep the focus of the downine on their business and prop them up to invite others to join SFI or buy or play games on TripleClicks as PRMs.

I personally do not have a large active downline but I will !

Communication is very important.
In a large group of people it possible may be hard because all of them are different.

My suggestion is to make a selection.

There are people who do not need help because they read and follow the news and forum.
There are people who do not read and think someone else should do everything.
There are people who want to communicate and who do not want.
There are people who ask and who do not ask.
There are people who want attention and think they are the only ones that exist.
They expect more attention and respect than help.
Expectations members depend on the understanding, education, time, culture, etc ....

Some people want to understand , some not, that there are a lot of people here who have a full time job and are not be available on social networks all the day.

Do not worry, the person who takes the job seriously like own business will be satisfied with any kind of your attention.

Understanding and fairness are very important for a successful business.

It is my personal opinion that you cannot attend personally to all your affiliates. As we know, many affiliates are inactive, and many will not become active. That's just a fact.

What we can do is attend to those who show some interest in building their SFI business. It has been my experience that they are, in general, open to suggestions and to our help as team leaders. So, we need to focus on helping those who want our help. We need to be positive and helpful. Avoid being critical in any way. They need our help, not our criticism. Positive energy does much more than negative energy to grow their business and yours. So, keep it positive and uplifting. Tell them the truth, show integrity, and compassion. Many are struggling to make a few dollars with SFI. We can help them do that. Offer videos on working the "To Do List". This is very important. Stress to them the importance of visiting the SFI site every day. Offer incentives such as T-credits or gift certificates as small rewards for a job well done. It will go a long way to letting them know that you truly care about their success. Remember, we are all one.

Personally I use the PSA and CSA mailer each time I mail out from the SFI Center which I use mostly for my business.
By adding Hi ~FIRSTNAME~ ( WHICH IS A VARIABLE AND DRAWS THE NAME FROM SFI'S DATABASE, THIS SUBSTITUTES THE NAME IN PLACE OF THE ~FIRSTNAME~
in turn when each affiliate receives their email, it reads, "Hi Bob", and whatever you may have added after this for example
I will use the subject as well in my Subject line
Hi ~FIRSTNAME~, Weekly Team Letter From SFI Sponsor or whatever it is you want them to read yoru email about, the great part of this is that it remains in cache(memory for the next time you will use it you may just need to make some minor modifications to it.

I also provide them with my email address and as I get emails from my downline requesting help or my customers it is very easy to personalize the email to them.

SFIM has made it very easy to use, and I do prefer to use the tools in my SFI office rather than try and add my large downline to my email address that way it also ensures they receive my emails, rather than caught up in their junk folders because they do not have my personal email in their contacts list, they may not even see it.

First and for most thing is be loyal to SFI family and lead by example.

Secondly encourage your down line by conducting daily or weekly online meetings and hear their problems and attend it. By increasing their income yours and your up line sponsors income also will increase. These meetings can be online and/or at a common place convenient to everyone.

Promote business developing tools and techniques that were helpful to you to your down line.

Last and important thing is that build trust. Make sure that you are taking care of their concerns and challenges and offer real solutions that benefit them.
