Sales is an art. It has to be developed. Since you have asked about how to become a great salesman or saleswoman; it implies one is already into sales. In order words, how do one become a better or great salesperson?

Getting into the class of great salesperson requires a lot of skill acquisition and experience. Really, it is not an overnight dream but such that is achieved through a process of learning and practice.

You become a great salesperson by:

1. Improving your person. You need to work on your self esteem. You should have faith in yourself otherwise you would lack the composure to face the customer. Even in online sales, you must exhume confidence in your write ups or mails. You should become a relaxed and cheerful person.

2. Acquiring knowledge about your products and services. You must be very knowledgeable about the products or services you are promoting. All the details, peculiarities and benefits of the products or services must become part and parcel of you. Beside, you should know details of competitors goods and services so as to emphasize the peculiarities of yours. There should be no questions or queries about your products or services you cannot convincingly answer. Faltering and recoiling before customers whether real time or online makes you look fake.


3. Developing persuasive ability. You should become assertive and persuasive. Anticipate objections and deal with it.You should be able to gently convince the customer to make the purchase without being overbearingly pushy. You become persuasive when you develop your communication skill, your ability to read between the lines and hammer the soft spot the customer shows in the course of the interaction. You can develop to the point that you can sell ice to Eskimos!

4. Ensuring transparency and honesty. You need to reveal necessary information to the customer beforehand. Hiding details or speaking of half truths would be a great push off for the customers. Nobody likes dealing with a dubious person. Honesty and integrity would stand you out.

5. Building business relationship. If you desire to be a great salesperson, then you should work not just on one off sale but building lasting relationship. Try to win over the loyalty of your client base. You should also leverage on your existing customers to win over others.One of the ways to do that is to ensure customer satisfaction always.

6. Ensuring customer satisfaction. The saying goes that customers are king. You need to ensure that the customers receive value for the money always. You should deliver even over deliver on your promise. Go over board in satisfying your customers and win their loyalty. When there are complaints, address it promptly and to the best interest of your customers always. Whatever is invested in satisfying customers comes back to you in loyalty and leverages. In fact, you should become your customer's friend.


7. Organize effective follow up of leads or contacts. Sales most of the times are not sealed the first time. It may take an average of five to six follow up mails or contacts before the sale is generated. You should be optimistic. Follow on with positive mindset. Even when sales is not made eventually, move on and you would win another time.

Really, there are so many qualities that ought to be imbibed and developed in order to become a great salesperson, but those highlighted above would be helpful among others.

Do you really need to be a great salesperson? I would say no. You are trying to encourage people to sign up to a free program, and then to follow some simple ways of getting yourself an income.

Many great sales people do not worry about the product they are promoting, they are only interested in the commission they will make by selling the product.

When selling SFI this is not the main requirement. You will be making more money by encouraging those who sign up to become EAs and team leaders. You will be promoting to increase your downline and consequently your potential income.

By encouraging those who sign up to follow the easy ways of earning money you will be increasing your income.

Always be truthful in all of your ads and in any other communication you have with your affiliates.

Hello, this is really important question. Well, first of all you should know that people need different things and if you want to sale you should know what they need. That means you should personally know their needs with a few questions when face to face communications or few e-mails to potential prospects. For a good salesman/woman is important to not irritate and pressure people. It's good to do some research and then to offer products. Another important steps is to be clear in explaining and correct in the relationship with the potential customer. Don't offer thing people don't need. This way you lie and when you lie you don't have reputation. The loving of what you do is a must - the business is to connecting and inspiring people, who want it. There are many was to accomplish becoming a great salesman or saleswoman.
1) Formal education in marketing. Eg. College.
Pro's
You will get a thorough education in all kinds of marketing theory and the complete skill set you need to be successful
Con's
Expensive and timely
2) Mentorship
Watch how, when where the successful marketers communicate their message. This is one of the best ways I know. I had an awesome mentor and it was well worth it!
Pro's
Quick initial tools can be picked up if you are observant to start building your business right away.
Con's
Mentors don't show you the "whys" unless you ask or can understand their motive. finding an awesome mentor can be a challenge if you do not understand marketing and know what you need to learn.

3) Reading~ SFI has an awesome training program that is free to tap into. Also every link is filled with marketing ad business information.
Pro's~ learn at you own pace and you can ask questions on the forum or your sponsor even support if need be.
Con's~ I can't think of any!
4) Ask questions~
Pro's~
Knowledge is POWER and is always obtained better when you are interested and want "to know" something. Eg. question. "How and where do you share your link? You sponsor should be able to help you with the how, why and the where. Be it the Co-op, internet sites brochures, eCards..... Or be able to send you to the SFI link or another site that does. If you do NOT ask you will miss out on so much important information.
5) Online video sites like Vimeo and YouTube.
Pro's
There are videos now on how to do everything in every language.Marketing is covered quite well. It gives you the visual and audio learning that is missed with reading alone. If you are not a strong reader, this is a great way to learn.
6) literature and internet~
Pro's` You can read on your own time and the information is endless!
Con~ You may not always have access all the time to books or internet or be a strong reader.
7) Give Feedback and ask for Feed Back~ Always give feedback to anyone who is teaching you. I love getting critiqued by my teams with comments. If I get a low evaluation score from my down line, I am best served with a comment about what I can do to improve my marketing skills, so I can sharpen my leadership and marketing skills, so I can sharpen them. We are ALWAYS learning

Strive to Learn and KNOW "ALL" your products and services of your busines.

This an interesting question.
My experience has been that you must sell yourself first and foremost, people must buy you, trust you and what you stand for before you can "sell" them anything.
Being honest, respectful and able to communicate are the keys to being a great salesperson. Always be honest and find out what their needs and wants are; give them what they want and you will get what you want.

To become a great salesperson you need to read books. There are many available on the subject and you can read a lot but, the main thing is to practice what you learn as PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT.

I thought I might add a bit more detail here to help right now. This is my own original work so please forgive any editing errors.

+++ An understanding of the BUYING PROCESS we, yes YOU and I and every customer, goes through before making a purchase is the most IMPORTANT aspect of being able to sell. If you understand what your customer is thinking and what their next step will be you will sell more. Here is that process in point form.

1. INTEREST AROUSED - This is the point that you or I become interested in purchasing an item or service. It could be that we have seen an advertisement or, it could be because our shoe is broken and we need a new pair.
Our INTEREST IS AROUSED in making a purchase.

2. NEED FINDING - After our interest is aroused we then then seek information. Will the item be suitable for our needs? Is it the right size and colour?
WE FIND WHAT WE NEED BUT WE HAVE QUESTIONS

3. KNOWLEDGE ADDED TO
So we have found our item but we have questions. A GOOD salesperson will add to our knowledge by answering our questions and concerns. A GREAT salesperson will do this and ADD MORE BENEFITS that we had not thought of.
OUR KNOWLEDGE IS INCREASED - WE ARE MORE LIKELY TO PURCHASE

4. SUITABILITY APPRECIATED
We now KNOW that the item is what we need and want. We can APPRECIATE that it will be suitable because we have gone through the previous steps IN SEQUENCE. If we had not followed the pattern above we would not be where we are now. A GREAT salesperson knows this and will guide us through them.
THE ITEM IS SUITABLE - WE HAVE MADE A DECISION TO PURCHASE

5. CONSIDERATION OF COST
Aha! Here is the one that most salespeople get WRONG! Because we have gone through the above steps and come to the point of considering price the item is NOT being sold based on price, rather it is being sold on the BENEFITS and FEATURES pointed out by our GREAT salesperson in step 3 above. We have already decided to make the purchase, we are only checking to see if WE can AFFORD IT. A GREAT salesperson understands this and will ask you for the label price OR they will ask you what your budget is and base the asking price on your answer. A salesperson who does not understand the buying process will offer lower prices to get the sale, not understanding that you have already decided to buy.
ITEMS ARE NOT SOLD ON PRICE - THEY ARE SOLD ON BENEFITS

6. VALUE APPRECIATED
You have the funds to purchase, you are happy with the item and you are ready to buy. You have an APPRECIATION of the VALUE of the item to YOU. Someone else may not see this VALUE because their needs are different to yours and they have not been through the same buying process you have just been through. This is why some others will see your purchase and say 'I would not have paid that much'.
THE VALUE OF AN ITEM IS BASED ON YOUR NEED AND YOUR BUYING EXPERIENCE

7. A SALE
A GREAT salesperson will make many more sales than a GOOD salesperson because they understand the above buying process that EVERY customer goes through before making a purchase. They can address every step of the process with their sales knowledge, product knowledge and closing skills.

How to become a good sales ???

In this one issue has a bunch of other sub-questions, but I'll try to somehow explain a little of everything.

The first thing that every trader must have is persistence.

Simply, there are things that require much more time and energy to reach a specific goal. One of those things is the samam sales.

Another important thing also is knowledge of Attica and markets.

If you want to sell a particular item, we know all about him, and even some little things that maybe someone is not so essential, but it makes an impression on us that we are really serious seller.

Also we need to know the market and just know that the things that are necessary to place on the market.

If we want to sell the thing with which the market is crowded, we do wrong, we need to find products that are either general or need new products that will only penetrate the market.

The third thing is the seriousness of the work. It is one of the most important things, because, at least in my opinion, if you start doing the business of selling, and stop, and then start again, giving the customer the impression that you are not serious person and you lose that customer safety. Because the goal is that every customer receives the product of serious seller on whom can rely.

No less important thing is the honesty.

That's the part that people often forget and often using lies capturing someone or something, but it does not last long.

There's a lot of things, but I mentioned a few things.

The most important facts and best looking within yourself, because the best customer is you. If you convince yourself to buy a product, it will succeed and others, if you do not succeed, do not try to do this job.

If you want to become a great salesman/saleswoman, you must understand sales, your product/s and/or service/s.
Here at TC/SFI, you must read and understand your marketing tools and marketing methods. Understand how to use them, where and when.
Understand TripleClicks, ECAs, products and services. Understand how and where to promote them. Understand payment methods. Understand to chose the product/s and the target.
If possible, specialize either on targets or products or both.
As it is said that knowledge is power. I believe knowledge is not enough. Understanding is more than knowledge. Understanding is power.

Think about the qualities that you have seen in others that you consider to be great salesmen. I think the following qualities are what I respect:

1- Product knowledge
The best salespeople are those that know about what they are selling, and how that product can be of value to the prospective buyer.

That is a very good question, but needless to say, there is no one special or specific formula to achieve this. If you had the opportunity to interview the top ten sales persons on the planet, I can guarantee you that you will get ten diverse explanations. What is most important is to understand your target market, and what they want to hear, additionally you must know your product as if you were the maker in details. Then you must always have a smile, pleasant and endearing personality, a great disposition to listening; most great sellers are great listeners. You must believe that you are going to make every pitch sell, and your confidence must echo in your voice and your demeanor. Lastly I believe that you must make your target comfortable; they must believe that you have their best interest at heart, and that what you are doing is not just offering something that they need, but also something that can build a relationship between you and the potential client/customer. They need to trust you; you need to earn their trust.
