I don't know how I missed watching the video on the START page when I first signed up two months ago, but I did.

I mean, there was the link to the start page right in the first email I got from SFI. And there's the nice big tab START at the top right of the site.

Or, maybe I did go to the START page, I don't remember - I WAS overwhelmed; there was so much to look at and read and I was excited and wanted to learn everything as soon as I could - but if I did visit the START page, I didn't watch the video. Maybe I didn't even scroll down to it, and all I did on the START page was click the "Proceed to Affiliate Center" in the top right corner of that page.

I did watch the video a few days ago, though.

Since then I've been recommending to my affiliates that they watch it - that they even watch it two or three times. It's incredibly helpful. At the same time that I recommend watching the video to my affiliates, I also tell them that once they're done watching the video, they can click the links beneath the video.

I add just one other thing to that team mail when I tell them to watch the video: I recommend that they visit the Glossary page, because the Glossary page was what I found very helpful when I was so overwhelmed within my first few days at SFI.

And that's it! Video and Glossary page. Nothing to get overwhelmed about with just that. And it isn't really a "just that" - both the video and the Glossary page are excellent and could set any new affiliate well on their way before they even realize they were about to feel overwhelmed.

Hello Ritu,

I remember my first month at SFI and the overwhelming amount of information I had to digest. I did not have help from my Sponsor or Co-Sponsor and was too shy to contact them, so I muddled through, without a clear idea of what was important and what could wait until later. Thankfully I got it right but it was only because I love to read… and had nothing else to do at the time :)))

Consequently, what I do to get my new PSAs up to speed is send them a link to my Leadership Page as soon as they join. There they will find a blog called Getting Started at SFI. A 10-Day Guide. In the introduction I suggest they read the SFI Basics and watch the START video, and then ask them to focus on performing simple tasks from their To-Do list.

The guide itself contains a DAY ONE to DAY TEN guide with a daily 3-step work schedule that invariably includes Daily Actions, any pending Weekly or Monthly Actions, as well as Actions from the Getting Started, Intermediate and Launchpad sections. I try to include everything they need to get started, but in small, manageable daily portions so that they do not feel as overwhelmed as I did.

I complement this guide with a simple explanation of what they should do from DAY 11 until the end of the month to reach the rank of Executive Affiliate, and also emphasize the importance of visiting TripleClicks and the Forum each day.

Finally, I mention that during their first 10 days they will receive several notifications from SFI about becoming a Fast Track Member, and I provide a link to the Fast Track page so that they are fully aware of the advantages this membership offers.

Great question Ritu! This is something that impacts greatly and contributes positively or negatively to our success here at SFI. 

Firstly, you need to be aware that there are individual differences and your PSAs will not all be moving at the same pace, while some can't cope with a deluge if information and will wilt if such happens,  some are ready to move at "the speed of light". Identify the different groups/categories and let this guide you in helping them.

For those ones who are fast and quick, they don't need much help, the information that SFI provides via Launchpad daily messages, forum, newsletters etc will keep them on track with periodic encouragement from you as their sponsor.

For the slower ones, I deal with them individually. I study their VersaPoints ledger, look at what they're yet to cover and send them links to lead them to the concerned pages. For example, if I notice that a PSA is yet to complete their profile, I send them this link with a short message attached. See example below:

Hello (name of Affiliate),

You're doing quite a great job presently. I noticed though that you've not completed your profile. This is an essential part of your business and will guide me in helping you. Please try and do so as soon as possible.

I do this with profile photo links, marketing gateways etc, even t-time and zebra games. I also take notes on such affiliates so as not to repeat the same information. I send these links one at a time until such affiliates are able to stand on their own and grasp things fully. In this way, they are not overwhelmed with information.

The most important thing in anything that we do, is understanding. We need to understand why we must do things and how we must do them. To get understanding about SFI, we need to read our training and understand it.

Mr. Gery in LaunchPad day 11 says: “It takes time to get to know all the nuances of a business. It takes time to get to know the products. It takes time to develop a game plan. It takes time to figure out what marketing activities will work best for you.”

The best way to get your new PSAs up to speed with SFI without overwhelming them. Is to encourage, motivate and help them to read their training and understand it. When they understand SFI, then you can start giving them the ways, methods and strategies that you are using yourself to succeed.

This will help them to speed with SFI because they won’t have to go out and waste time trying new ways, methods and strategies to grow their businesses because they will be using your own ways, strategies and methods. Their success will be guaranteed because you are using those ways, methods and strategies yourself and you are there to help and guide them. So it will be as if you are the one who is using them with extended hands. That is duplicating, recruiting new members and teaching them to do what you are doing.

What you need to consider before getting your new PSAs up to speed with SFI without overwhelming them?

- Not everyone is a fast learner.

- Some people may have experience in network marketing or nothing at all.

- We all came from different walks of life.

- Most people who joined SFI are working/have worked for someone else, being told what to do.

Knowing these facts will help you devise an actionable plan for your new affiliates in getting up to speed with SFI regardless of their background.

How to get your new PSAs up to speed with SFI without overwhelming them:

- Provide with your new affiliates an easy-to-follow action plan that has worked for you in your journey with SFI.

- One of the most effective ways to do this is to make a fast start, step-by-step action plan for your new affiliates and put it on website/blog so everyone can easily access the information.

- Your action plan should start from getting them understand SFI BASICS and LAUNCHPAD.

- Emphasize to them that they need to explore all the SFI tools and resources provided and to learn one topic at a time in their own pace to keep their progress in expanding their knowledge base.

- Train them step-by-step on how to market their SFI business, which includes how to get leads, sponsor and create their own duplication. Depending on how you go about getting leads is also going to be a factor. It is important to create a lead generation method that others can follow.

The last thing you want to do is have your new affiliates become overwhelmed because they cannot figure out how to do something. Keep it simple, and do whatever it takes to help them get off to a good start.

Simplifying the process for your new team members and helping them create early success will help to create a stable team, as opposed to people coming and going all of the time.

Every Sponsor will try their best to assist their PSAs to get started correctly. They would apply every possible and available ways either from SFI's free tools or their own way of ensuring active PSAs, not to forget CSAs.

1) Open widely line of communication
2) Rewards for achievers
3) Show your gratitude for job well done
4) Reassignment of PSAs to downlines - to ensure their success & indirectly, yours.

Getting your PSAs up to speed without overwhelming them is a little tricky because individuals differ; some 'collapse' under pressure, some are fast learners while others are slow, some manage well under pressure and yet some are amenable to any circumstance. You therefore need to carry out a delicate balancing act, so that every individual works at his/her own pace and below are my suggestions:

1. Let them know the benefits of carrying out certain actions and the consequences of not. For example encourage them to learn and train themselves by going through the training material but add that they need to go through at their own pace and understanding, but that failure to have a fair grasp of this business at this stage may have an adverse effect in building their business in the future..

2. Let them know certain actions they need to carryout and certain activities they need to be engaged in. Highlight the benefits they stand to derive now and in the future, including the likely consequences that will result from failure to act on them like the E365 contest, Fast Track etc.
Mention the fact that these actions have deadlines and time limits which they may not be able to avail of once they lapse.

3. Avoid bombarding them with numerous messages with very lengthy contents, be as precise as possible and ensure there is good value in such messages. Highlight those areas they need to concentrate on, to make EA status in their first month and let them know straight away, the benefits of EA.

4. Let them make the decisions themselves after you have highlighted the benefits of taking action and the consequences of not, unless your assistance is require or where you want to intervene in very compelling circumstance.

As you can see from the above, you have initiated learning and training, encouraged action, identified benefits and highlighted disadvantages of inaction, so the ball is now in the court of your PSAs to reciprocate by seizing the opportunity presented.

New PSAs should not come to the conclusion that making money in the internet is easy by just clicking without doing anything.

First, I would recommend them to go to Day 1 of the Launchpad and they will learn "Ready to Go" in the Getting Started and lead to SFI Basics " 3 step Plan" Get the overall review of SFI business and what to expect. I will tell them to read day by day accordingly- no rushing!.

I will recommend Fast Track within the 10 days upon registration by purchasing 1 unit NMP or make sales of $20.00 including the completion of 5 important tasks. With Fast Track they can be EAs earlier in the 1st month.
Having a Fast Track, they are entitled of other benefits in short and long term.

Tell them to continue to log in daily to do the daily, weekly, monthly and intermediate tasks and read the varois topics in Launchpad until the 30th Day. Review the previous topics. By the end of the 30th day they should be able to understand the operation of SFI business. Then more excitement and fun come in. More activities to do to develop the business and earn. In this way they will not be overwhelmed, overloaded and confused with information. Step by Step approach!.

Let me ask you a question. If you have a big chocolate bar in front of you, would you stick the whole thing in your mouth or would you eat it is small bite size pieces?

The answer is to think of SFI as a huge chocolate bar that should be broken into bite sized pieces or chunks.

This website looks complicated because there is lots of information but the beauty is that SFI also instructs affiliates by email and in the affiliate center by giving short articles to read so that we do not get overwhelmed.

In answer to your question tell your affiliates in general to walk in little baby steps to avoid feeling the information overload.

The Launchpad lesson is a very good example of this because the 30 chapters are short and SFI recommends printing it out for offline reading and reading only one chapter a day in order to make learning easy. In SFI we learn that we must learn to walk before we can run so in this case they must learn the basics a bit at a time before they can start running all over the internet trying to make an was buck.

I know this answer may seem very simple but this is the only thing I know how to do when I get overwhelmed.

Remind them to keep in touch, provide incentives such as rewards, and demonstrate to them leadership capabilities while setting an example using the tools provided at our affiliate center.

Try to remain far enough ahead as a leader to be ready and prepared to provide support directly, and know where to direct them.
