How can I provide positive but CONSTRUCTIVE criticism in my emails to my downline?

Giving criticisms is a very sensitive topic. It can either make or break a person and sometimes ruin relationships of the one giving the criticism and the one receiving it. Hence, it is very important to give only CONSTRUCTIVE ones.

The rule of thumb is very simple.

If the person is doing badly, always try NOTt to mention the mistakes but mention what should have been done better.
You can start by saying,"You are doing a good job, but I believe you can do better".

Personally, I wouldn't provide any criticism at all unless your team member actually asks for feedback or a critique of their own strategies. Each person in your downline is a business owner themselves, and you wouldn't tell another business owner how to run his business.

I would simply reassure your downline that you're there to help if they need it because even constructive criticism can come across the wrong way to some people.

Hello affiliates….constructive criticism. How?
Since it’s an offer of advice to someone which is useful to something that must be improve or to be corrected…it is not nice to criticize without offering a possible solution.
In SFI we need to understand this kind of criticism, especially that affiliates downlines and upline don’t have any direct or shall I say personal whereabouts among each other. Here it goes:

We are all in Business.

Every Member of our Team is also in Business. WE are assigned to them as Sponsors and Co-Sponsors (unless they are our own referrals) by SFI with an expectation that we will support them to the best of our abilities so that they too will grow.

Without a strong and active down lines we cannot grow at all.

They have also come into SFI with an aim to grow and earn money.

We do not have a right to criticize any of our Team Members.

What makes criticism constructive is the style. If I were you, I will refrain from ALL forms of criticisms of my downline whether constructive, positive or otherwise. The best you owe your downline is advice and that too must be very subtle when given.

Remember that your downline is made up of individual and independent business persons whose temperaments you may not know intimately. For that reason, whatever you may have intended to achieve by your so-called emails constructive criticisms

Sometimes we are happy how our downline is advancing,sometimes were are not so happy and think it can be done better.


When you're not satisfied with how's you team members doing,these are the steps you can take:
1. finding "problematical" member(s) - notice who is doing right,and who isn't
2. notice the nature of the problem - is the problem in not finishing all the daily tasks in SFI,or is it in not following the tips/suggestions you gave them,or is it in frequent

As a trainer I was always taught that if criticism was required it should be served in a sandwich.

This sandwich should be made by first praising the individual, then putting in the criticism, (in a soft a way as possible while making the necessary point(s)). This was immediately followed by more praise.

I found this to be a very useful guide in dishing out criticism without offending or upsetting the one receiving the rebuke.

I know it can be quite infuriating when the people you are trying to help, ignore your messages, don’t respond at all or ignore what you say and just go right ahead and do the opposite of what you are suggesting. I suspect all sponsors have experienced this.

Our downline means our own team or our network. In order to get the best and desired results from our own people, you can send them group mails or individual mails as per the situation demands.

Constructive criticism is the process of offering valid and well-reasoned opinions about the work of others, usually involving both positive and negative comments, in a friendly manner rather than an oppositional one. The purpose of constructive criticism is to improve the outcome.
